It’s a shame really. In this day and age, you HAVE to have good netcode, especially in places where there are no arcades/no KoFXIII machines, which is just about everywhere. Local scenes are great, but not everyone has that.
I was just in Japan recently, and visited some random arcades. Maybe I didn’t go to the right ones (the kof-specialising ones?) but the most popular fighting games were Gundam VS, Tekken, and SF4 in that order, with multiple machines. They were being played fairly often. The GG rerelease and Under-Night In-Birth was also fairly popular.
There’s usually one KOF13Climax machine, and maybe one BBCSEX. There were multiple multi-game machines that have P4U & AH3 on them. None of these machines were being played much.
No Persona 4 ? I’m surprised, it’s always on top of the arcadia list.
Well, there were a lot of machines with P4U (but these were multi-game machines with a bunch of other stuff too.) The machines all had P4U movelists stuck to them, so I imagine that’s their primary function. So I assume that P4U is somewhat popular, even though I never saw anyone play it. There’s no way in hell it’s more popular that Gundam VS, Tekken or SF4 though.
They play that stuff at arcades? Oh you mean Blaz Blue…
