MadCatZ PS3 TE FightStick: PC - Xp- vista- win7 32-64bit (read 1st post)

fully did not work for me… at all. same shit as before. no buttons registered. mvc3 te.

Keep in mind you have the Windows 8 version, there also a XP, Vista, Win 7 and Win 10 versions.
For our other readers you want to chose the version for your OS. This still requires you to have compatible hardware, your mother boards on-board USB encoder (or USB expansion card) has to be UHCI compliant.

Because even for the software to work your motherboard/ USB card has to support UHCI protocols. As UHCI is a Intel propitiatory format all AMD mother boards and some Intel boards that don’t have a Intel Chipset will nto work. USB hubs will not work with this as the USB hub just relays and boost the signal not change it’s protocols.

It is why if you followed instructions and read the first post in this thread it revels its a hardware issue not a software issue.

The one guaranteed solution is replace the Mad Catz TE’s PCB with a PCB that compatible with your PC and consoles.

I’m having this issue on a laptop, so I can’t add a PCI card as recommended. I was wondering if something like this would work? It allows a PS3/PS4 fightstick to work on Xbox One, so I’m thinking since Xbox One natively works with PC it would work. Maybe it’s a long shot, anyone know?

It could work, assuming nothing is wrong with the stick.

What PCB would be a solution for PS3/PS4/PC compatibility? PS3 support is not a deal breaker.

brook ps3/ps4 board. Has xinput for pc, 40$.

Are there any other, possibly cheaper, alternatives?

not really unless you find the Hori Fighting Commander 4 for Cheap at some sale somewhere

i can confirm that installing a PCI USB card witch support EHCI can solve the problem

Not going to work with every EHCI card. It is not EHCI support you need, it needs UHCI support.
You just happen to win the lottery here with UHCI support with your PCI card.

Also only older Mad Catz TE sticks and the Mad Catz SE stick has this issue.
Newer Mad Catz Sticks don’t work with UHCI protocols, which is great as almost no one supports this anymore.

Hi Guys,
Which PCB would you guys recommend to replace a PS3 Fightstick TE ‘S’ edition?

I’ve seen people recommending the Cthulhu PS3/PC one, but I can’t seem to find any place to buy it anymore.
Maybe it’s just outdated?

I just want to use it on my PC on Steam
Thx in advance!

Hi Guys.

So i’ve made the plunge and purchased a fight stick at a good price.

I never really used one before and now know i have a te round 2 for ps3. So i’m having compatibility issues.
After reading through these forums it appears that a PCB replacement is the best way to go, of which i feel i am capable, as i can solder, but haven’t really had any experience with fight sticks.

I cannot seem to find many PCB’s as the only brand around at the minute is brook.
I cannot seem to find a local distributor and looks like i need to order from the US (i am based in australia).

Before i spend over 120 AUD on a board for a fight stick, is there anything else i can do?
I have considered ripping out an xbox 360 controller and directly soldering onto the pcb of that.

Ideas? HEEELP!!

What are you trying to use

What are you trying to use the stick on?
PC:What OS?
PS4?
360/XB1?

IF you are just interested in PC and PS4, you should try using a brook PS3 PS4 Fighting board (https://www.focusattack.com/brook-ps3-ps4-fight-board-pcba/)

if you need more that tha, you should consider a UFB (universal fighting board)

Ok so i’m sure that this is a very old topic with many people giving input but i just thought id give some of my own(better late than never i suppose). I’ve had the same issue with trying to get my old PS3 Madcatz fight stick TE to work with my PC (show up in devices menu but buttons don’t register) so I looked around and found this internal USB card from insignia at my local big box store and thought id try it out after reading about the USB 1.1 incompatibility with some PC motherboards and I’m happy to say that at least in my case this card work. I’m posting here because i couldn’t find any information anywhere else and hope fully this will help someone else.

Here is a link to the card

As an alternative and potentially cheaper but with more labor, you could dual mod that stick as well or with less labor use a Brook adapter.

Hi have bought a 2nd hand madcatz sf IV 8818 fighting stick… I have the same problem but i manage to play tekken the first time I used it…then suddenly its not working I don’t know why.,I know it working on my laptop I just cant figure it out how.,my laptop is lenovo legion 520…please help

The PCB in your stick died and you need to replace it. Best option is one of the brook boards.
