I have a HP Pavilion a* series. And I know some of them have Nvidia Chipsets. Don’t know if mine is one of them though.
My XP recognizes my SE Madcatz stick, and in Game Controls Status apears as “ok”. I’ve tried DS3 drivers, USB Library and one other application but it didn’t work.
For information, I think I have the same problem than everyone but with the TE XBOX stick which I receive yesterday. I use a laptop wich seems to be intel base chipset.
The USB ports at the side of the laptop recognize the madcatz stick but it doesn’t answer to inputs. When it is plugged, it appears on the peripherals list as “XBOX 360 peripherals” with a yellow marker: “This peripheral can’t start”. This occurs even without any USB devices connected.
If I plug the stick on the USB ports at the backside of the laptot everything is fine.
Quite weird, I hope it will continue to work on this computer and that I won’t have any surprise in the next weeks.
There’s one big difference that you have here from everyone else.
You’ve got a 360 stick.
Microsoft’s got a driver out there for 360 controllers. Make sure you have it and try again. If that doesn’t solve anything, then we can’t help you. This thread is for PS3 sticks.
I just bought the Madcatz TE stick for the PS3 and it is not working on my PC. It’s plugged into the same external USB port on my USB 2.0 PCI card my SE usually goes into (and works) and it still isn’t working. Help!
I haven’t gotten around to trying the express card in my Nvidia Laptop yet. Anyone else have this problem and solved it?
I might have time in later in the month. Ordering it is easy enough, but it’s the time it take to go to a store with my laptop and joystick to see if it works first.
Business is booming and that unfortunately takes priority.
obviously, this is a horrible “oversight” on MadCatz. however i dont know if i can blame them because it’s obviously designed to work on the PS3. but when MadCatz guys are going around saying point blank, “Yes it works with a PC.” is bull and should be stopped immediately.
and people going around asking for a driver are wasting their breathe, cause it’s not going to happen.
Thanks for this post Horsedick. My TE and Rosewill USB card are on FedEx and UPS trucks respectively for delivery at this moment. I will post my results and expect all will be fine (nVidia / AMD board).
EDIT: Both the stick and the card arrived and are installed. Yipee! Working. OMG the TE is so easy to use…its really nice (if ugly).
quick question, im looking to get a laptop for sf4 and photoshop on the go but does anyone know if will work on laptops. what specs should i look for and what to avoid so that it works instantly.
