I noticed that the topic is focused on the TE, anyone test the standard edition?
standard edition
I have the standard edition one and is not working in vista 64bit and 32bit
I have an update. I just tested my TE for PS3 on a friendās XP SP3 32 Bit, and everything worked as supposed to.
As far as I can tell there is no rhyme or reason to why some OS wonāt support it, and some do.
I plugged it into my computer that is running Windows 7 Betaā¦ downloaded from Microsofts site, and updated to the latest version.
Windows not only recognized the stickā¦ but even the make and name. It registered as Mad Catz TE Fight Stick . I had problems getting GGPO to workā¦ but that had nothing to do with the fight stick, and the buttons worked in the test/diagnostic window so Iām pretty confident itās A-Okay on windows 7.
is that a stick for 360 or ps3 ?
Mine works too, Vista 64bit
Hurray. No one has had problems with Vista 64 bit yet.
I thought I was going to get screwed for using Vista, lol.
Reporting in with windows xp pro sp3, and my SE fightstick is reporting as PC USB wired stick 8818, but is not recognizing any button inputs. Also, works absolutely fine on the ps3.
I mentioned this in the main thread, but I called MadCatz tech support and the guy there had no idea what the problem was. When I told him that it worked on some other computers and the PS3 he assumed it was a problem with my comp and told me to check the motherboard drivers. I gave it a shot, no dice.
Iām thinking about upping to Vista or Windows 7 to see if it really is just the OS. :bluu:
the 2 stick sthat are not working are on both sp3 xp pro, and you have tried on other machines, have they been xp pro sp3?
Friendās comp(which it worked on) was XP pro SP3, yeah.
you got any homebrew or other usb stick drivers installed?, maybe something is clashing with your fight stick?
i wouldnt know but if the stick works i presume its something on your end, maybe a driver clash, uninstall all unnecsiarry programes and stuff you have on your computer and see what happens.
if no luck my best bet is a fresh install of windows.
Iām having the same problem. I was playing with my TE on my ps3, but when I tried to play 3s on FB alpha it didnāt work. It showed up fine on control panel and everything. Iām gonna try uninstalling the ps3 usb thing I have on this comp. Iāll tell you guys if thatās what was the problem if it turns out so.
yah, that didnāt fix the problem. Oh well sooner or later Iāll figure it out.
I donāt have any homebrew drivers or anything for any other stick on this comp. Worst I had was a Logitec RumblePad2, which I removed and uninstalled the drivers for already.
Guess I can try doing a fresh XP install. Probably gonna wait until tomorrow and try tech support again before that.
I have mines working on Vista x64 SP1.
I play some emu sf with it and the turbo is absolutely cheapshot, E Honda bitch slap with just holding down fierce lol.
Stick #1:
PS3 Version
Some surface scratches on the art, but it is not severe so for those who are complaining about the art being scratched, you are a little too nitpicky on your stick. Itās there, but it shouldnāt be bothersome.
Vista x64 SP1 test
The joystick has been recognized as PC USB Wired Stick 8838, but all inputs are not recognized. Driver Version is 6.0.6001.18000
Vista x86 SP1 test
The joystick has been recognized as PC USB Wired Stick 8838, and all inputs are recognized. Driver Version is 6.0.6001.18000
XP x86 SP3 test
The joystick has been recognized as PC USB Wired Stick 8838, and all inputs are recognized. Driver Version is 5.1.2600.5512
Appears to be fully functional had i been given a PS3 to test it with.
Stick #2:
PS3 Version
Some surface scratches on the art, pretty much the same as the other stick.
Driver Version is 5.1.2600.5512
this result could be hardware dependent, but i highly doubt itā¦
I tried updating the drivers, but it didnāt let me. Did you have to download new drivers?
I called MadCatz support again today, got a much more promising answer. The guy asked for my PC OS/spec and my number, told me heād call back once he had spent some time looking into the problem.
He also mentioned that there was an issue they were fixing with the Vista x64 OS where it mistakes the TE stick for a different controller, so thatās probably whatās going on with you, psyche.
I just got off the phone with MadCatz support, and unfortunately the guy I talked to really didnāt have any idea what was going wrong. He suggested doing all the windows updates, even the non critical ones, which didnāt seem to change anything for me.
