It may be helpful for more comments to be posted to Amazon.com’s reviews for both the TE and SE sticks. People really should be made aware of this issue, and as we know MadCatz isn’t likely to do anything about the situation until their hand is forced - if indeed they can do anything at all.
At least a public notice of some sort to inform the public of this incompatibility will be the right thing to do. If they can’t fix their product then perhaps they can forced to admit to the specific problem.
ok guys i need help here. I got my TE stick in the mail about a week ago and When i plugged it on my PC it detected and I was able to play some games. Now when i tried doing it today, my PC did not detect my joystick. What does that mean?
Cross posted from pc help thread since I wasn’t sure if that was the right place for it after all
I’m looking for a usb card available in England which the PS3 madcatz SE stick is compatable with, I saw a couple mentioned in this thread but I cannot find them over here. (don’t want to use E-bay because it can be dodegy, would rather stick to proper retailers)
Can anyone please recomend on that is available in England?
Keep harassing them about it with phone calls and e-mails. They’ll have to do something about it if enough people have the problem. Meanwhile, you can take a look at this:
This guy said he has had success using a driver that people used to get their FS3 working on their PC. I can’t personally try it at the moment, but I figured you guys would like to know about it.
The problem is the USB drivers on the joysticks pcb are for a intel based usb board. UHCI - USB 1.1 Proprietary Intel Standard. If you don’t have these intel based usb ports then the stick is not going to work.
Now as for Mad catz getting drivers to fix this issue. I’m really doubting this is going to happen. That would mean they would have to get intel to release drivers to allow universal usb devices on their UHCI usb1.1. Now I don’t know anything about all this crap. But common sense tells me this is not going to happen. I don’t think intel will be prepared to allow Madcatz to release drivers that allows UHCI USB 1.1 to become universal. UHCI USB1.1 has not become universal in I don’t know how many years ( a decade?) so why would intel suddenly make that possible now just become some gamers want to use their ps3 joystick on their pc. Best bet is to buy a usb card that supports UHCI usb 1.1 and just forget about these drivers all together.
Unless it says “Via” on the product page, it’s not guaranteed that it will work. Doing a search for “Via” on their site brings up no results so it probably ignored that bit of your search term.
