Madcatz EVO Fightstick 2012

I just finished modding my EVO FightStick Pro last night and wanted to share some pics. The full set is up at http://www.flickr.com/photos/vr/sets/72157630873339250/with/7699856240/ and I tried to document what I did as I went through the mod. I’d love feedback on the mod and how I went about it. I went with the new ArcEye3’s, the new Remora board, the ChimpSMD, a blue ball top, a blue shaft, and blue translucent Seimitsu buttons. I personally think the stick is gorgeous powered off, but when it’s powered on, the ArcEye3 LEDs are beyond description. Really beautiful. Not sure if pictures will do it justice, but here’s a couple:

Will you have my babies?

Wiring is real messy though. Don’t show JDM714 or he might cry… or offer to take your stick and clean the wiring up.

If your babies are more arcade sticks then YES! =:P

Okay, I can take the criticism, but can you suggest how it can be done better? I actually paid more attention this time to try to keep the wiring nice and clean. =:/ One thing I was planning to do and just lost steam was to go through all the wires plugged into the ChimpSMD and trim them down so everything was uniform and no extra lengths. Is that what you’re referring to?

Ill show you how to do it better. Should get my cerberus boards soon i hope.

There’s just too much wire. Everyone should strive to go for “Super God Wiring” when they have the chance.

Holy crap, those are tight wiring jobs! I wish I had that kind of time!

Is it possible to change the light in the Xbox button? Sweet stick but I want to kick the green right in the cunt.

sure you just have to de-solder the led’s and switch them with the color you want

I don’t think so? At least not easily as that’s underneath a separate PCB.

Uhh… read the post above yours.

Riiiiight. And yes, it is technically possible to install a 12,000 BTU window air conditioner in a Toyota Prius, but man it’s hella difficult. =:P

It’s not that hard.

I did the same thing didn’t even check if the green button was sanwa. I never got a response back from whatever madcatz ticket system they used so I opened it up and fixed it myself.

Was your A button also busted?

D3V that wiring is J&J crazy wiring. The wiring van did was pretty good average joe wiring. I supposed Van could have dremeled some of the screw pillars down to make the ChimpSMD closer (That’s what Joe did to mine)

Here’s the one James did on his EVO Stick:

I just don’t know where he put the PCB… Probably some jdm magic of putting it somewhere he fit would be the best.

Thanks, bro! Yeah, I saw jdm’s pic of his mod, but I don’t see the original PCB, let alone a Chimp board. =:/

I don’t think he put a Chimp Board on his and that picture could have been an incomplete build. Who knows. But yeah, if you do have the spare time and dignity, I’d suggest you trim your screw pillars near your PCB so you could place the Chimp right next to it with very minimal wire length.

Thats a ps3 stick… No dual mods or nothing. Note that there isnt 3 headers from turbo and that the 5 pin harness for the jlf goes to turbo.
