M.O.D.O.K. Thread 2: Orgasm Harder

@WorstPlayer Cry for me!

@kensanity Thanks. I should’ve done better, but I’ll get farther next time. And yeah, for that combo, I do S and missiles at the same time. The L bomb makes it easier if you want to put the L cube down. You could probably do: land, back dash, M cube, f.H, jamming bomb.

I liked da M.O.D.O.K play. hype

-_- Dat Strange play was butt cheeks though

Thanks. And I’m always welcome to criticism on my Strange play (pm if you choose to, please). I know combos with Strange, but my neutral with him needs a lot of work. I usually either win with Dok or lose, since it is a front heavy team, so I don’t get to play Strange in neutral much. I have some basic zoning loops with missiles for him when I get space, but that’s about it. After the tourney, I specifically put the Vergil vs Strange matchup in the lab to see what I could find and I made a much better incoming corner setup.

Only thing I do vs Vergil is run a throw set up then sov xf kill him. Thats how you play the match up vs Vergil.
He’s the only character in the game worth getting that treatment.

i just starting using modok what is the best way to get the most damage off of hyper battering ram but keeping them low enough for vipers burst time hyper to connect (QCB 2ATK)

What I used to do was: forward (auto), (down forward)x2, down back, down forward. That should net you around 11 hits or 137k before the DHC to Viper.

thx lol last question can u explain to me how that hyper works i know you press a direction and L but i still dont fully understand and also did mean down then forward or down forward x2?

Theres a timing, you only need to hit the button like what 5 times. If you have sound (I don’t hahahaha don’t ask) then you can hear the thrusters kind of reset with each press.

Has anybody tried to plink on the ground to catch two characters with HPB XFC.

i think it’s easier to do than grounded air dash combo.

Nos99 said he has done that with 3 plink dashes I believe? I wouldn’t know, since I can’t plink dash.

I’ve done it but never in practice, shit I still do sub optimal shit all day erry day period. Like my brains set in reset mode

I play Modok/Deadpool and I’m wondering if I should put Deadpool on point. I have him second so Modok has a reliable low/unblockable through quick work. If I put Deadpool on point Im not sure what assist I should use to help Him where his weaker points are or is the beam assist my best bet?

Who’s your third character? As a general rule, I personally like having MODOK on point, but if you feel more confident in your Deadpool, putting him on point could work. I think you’d probably want to use blaster assist and maybe choose barrier based on the matchup or if you are a more zoning oriented Deadpool. I never played much Deadpool, so I can’t say much about him.

I’m using cold star. I was using drones but I think cold star is the better of the two.

So I was playing at Next Level when I came on an epiphany:
Plink dashing is SO much better with good buttons…anyway while plinking around like my name is Alukard or something.
I was plinking into grounded airdash and it was SOOO fast but then I started messing up.
I bounced the other character with MODOKS f+H, then while trying to plink dash somehow got a crazy
looking f+H rapid f+h like three times in a row. I’m going to experiment with this to see how practical it
can be. probably something in buffering a plink dash and AD cancelling that caused MODOK not to leave the
ground at all and f+H 3 times as if I jump cancelled it.

Woah, what?! That sounds pretty crazy. I wish I could plink well so I could mess around to try to recreate it, but it seems like it could open the door to MODOK’s f.H infinite being practical. Do you happen to know the inputs to recreate it? It definitely seems like you were using jump cancelling in some odd way that is probably exclusive to Dok. Perhaps cancelling the jump startup into a dash into f.H?

Yeah I was literally just plink dashing and throwing air dashes in because I was amazed at how fast that ish is. The double air dash works so naturally this way. I think what really happened was since a plink is a heavy cancelled into a dash and MODOK has a grounded air dash and f+H is jump cancel able I somehow cancelled the f+H into an uf air dash (before leaving the ground) which I cancelled into a f+H…Yeah I know so I’m thinking

f+H u/f dash~H~F+H repeated…I honestly have no idea, just me and my friend said whoah…did it when I didn’t get anyone to block it too granted it was only twice. Which lends me to believe it must have been just a really fast jump cancel that allowed me to input another f+H as it looks like the first ones animation just stops as soon as it extends but I never leave the ground.

I’ve done the AH~AHHH two forward H’s before by accident, but when I did 3 Ah~Ah~AHHHH’s thats when it raised my eyebrow.
Still may be just to fast, plinking is hard enough. My finger is actually injured from plinking to much yesterday.

I tried putting it in the lab to recreate it, but I came up empty. I don’t think I’ll be able to pull it off anytime soon lol, since I can’t really plink and haven’t been playing much Marvel lately. It would be really cool to see it in action.

Yeah to bad I can’t be much help. I was literally just plink dashing to grounded air dash plinking like a mad man. Got it completely by accident while plink mashing. Learn to plink man and pay the consequences! (my finger still hurts)

Post video immediately.
