just did a 939,100 damage 113-galactic hit combo using the MODOK corner cube loop…it took three bars DHC though with chris and wesker

all I have to say is if you get your opponent in the corner you can seriously apply some pressure with MODOK…

I bet I can cook something up with x-factor…hmm…

Has anyone found a decent assist combo into jamming bomb?

I can see jaming bomb being extremely powerful in such a fast game because i doubt people will try anything while jammed, they will just block.

Unfortunately ive found those moves take waaaayyy too long to startup

the only bomb combo i can think of involves flying above them, launching a bomb, then doing an unblockable setup of a high attack and low assist. i haven’t tried it though.

It seems gimmicky, anyway. It’ll confuse players at first, for sure (especially if it swaps up/down in addition to left/right… does it?), but after a while of playing against it, it’ll become no more than a minor inconvenience. It’d have been more useful overall if it had some kind of impact on the character physics, rather than just the player’s controls. Like… even if it just made their movement a little slower, or made it so they couldn’t use a certain action for a little while, it’d totally be worth it. As it is, the most you’ll get out of it after people have gotten used to it is potential wrongblocks when their controls go back to normal, which would require modok to get in their face and attack them at that moment. So… it’s not totally useless, but he probably has better things to be doing than setting up jamming bombs.

there’s zero chance you will block high low and crossup mixups if it reverses ur up down left and right inputs. noone is getting used to that, its hard enough to block trijump with assist cover without ur controls being flipped.

Yea i believe jamming bomb, if hit, will be completely crazy. Just tested it, yes it reverses all directions so you have to move your stick up forward to block low etc. No one, unless they’ve trained for it ill be able to face a decent high low mixup. Also, they wont try to fight back and will most likely aim up and up forward the whole time so theres good chance to catch them as soon as the effect wears off and they randomly walk forward or jump without expecting it.

There are combos into jamming bomb but they are all stupid like L M (H+A1) jamming bomb with assists like doom rocks etc (any assist that hits for long enough) which are eh in a real match if you are solely aiming for jamming bomb.

EDIT: Just tested, there are a ton of viable corner jamming bomb combos with the right assists. Anything into OTG cr.M + doom rocks -> jamming bomb works in corner and im assuming there are plenty more assists with the same capabilities.

Alrighty guys ive uploaded a video just showing an example combo of how to combo into jamming bomb. If you dont think jamming bomb will be that good, dont use it, but as for me… i think it will be extremely powerful so yea, here it is:

5L > 5M > 2H > 6H > H Cube > dash > IAD > j.S > L Cube > S > sj.M x2 > sj.S > 2M + Doom rocks > Jamming bomb > Hyper battering ram

It did 537k and 2 cubes (although 1 is used for jamming bomb)

I think the power in jamming bomb is letting modok go on the offensive w/ some rushdown. Should become a free combo into potentially another jamming bomb.

Did anyone check what happens when a jammed character tags out?

I’ve been using air dash S to get in on people but it seems that it does not have lots of range. Seen some combo’s starting with air dash M, is this a better move to get in on a character?

air dash M has lot better range, but i’m not sure if it’ll whiff on the shorter characters. i haven’t done enough modok testing tbh, since i’ve mostly been focusing on getting my doom buktooth loop down

In this combo video, you can replace any of the balloon bomb with jamming bombs. If you do so, don’t do the OTG crouching medium into hyper battering ram after the beam super because the effect of the jamming bomb will wear out by then.

No one will get used to it in the short term. You are 100% right about that. When first exposed to this tactic, and even several months to a year down the line, it will mess with people’s minds. But, if modok is good enough to be a top tier character and is using this, it’s something people will eventually adjust to. The one thing they probably won’t be able to adjust to is switching block at the right moment when their controls switch back; if they’re off by even a frame, it could mean them getting hit.

Granted, this is all mvc3: fate of two theories atm, but I’d treat this as a temporary trick that won’t last if this game has any longevity. If the setups are pretty easy to get out in a real match, then sure, they’re worth learning and trying to incorporate into your game, since even once people get beyond the initial shock, the switch back has great potential for forcing a wrongblock. Just… I wouldn’t rely on it as a main strategy or anything.

j.E -> QCB L -> E -> j.MM -> Hyper Battering Ram is the easiest combo I’ve found with MODOK so far and if all the hits connect it does a good 500k. Aiming that thing is kind of annoying though. If you get them in a corner it’s pretty easy.

I noticed you already made a matchup thread, and to be honest, while I appreciate the fact that you made a thread, not being abe to update the first page will make it useless in the long run :confused: The first post was not very organized, so it kinda suffers from TLDR syndrome. I’m not trying to bitch about it, but these are what I feel are some valid criticisms.

Jamming Bomb snapback could be good if the effect lasts, nobody is going to remember their controls are reversed when their character comes back in. If you can just kill them though since they can’t block that is probably a better option, but not as fun.
