M.bison USF4 , any Rumors of buff/nerf changes?

the only last minute buff is 10f u1

Ran a small gauntlet with him in PSN ranked. Clipped a bunch of people that were doing neutral jumps lol.

My only thing is adjusting to a bit of the s.MP linking since they kept jigging it around but it’s fairly easy to get the extra damage in.

J.mp~j.mp, LP Psycho Crusher nets you pretty much up front with them on a mix up depending on the height. I like it.

Nice. I’m sure this dude’s on SRK, who are you? Take some credit!

Yeah that’s my video. Also messing around with some Bison combos.

Forgot to try out cr.LP, st.LP, cr.MP, st.MP xx HK scissors. Tried to just then, couldn’t manage to do it. Anyway here’s Bison’s USF4 damage from some of his combos -

cr.MK = 65 damage
far st. MP = 70 damage

  1. cr.LP, st.LK, cr.MK xx HK scisors (2 frame link) = 210 damage
  2. cr.LP, st.LK, far st.MP xx HK scissors (1 frame link) = 214 damage
  3. j.MK, cr.LP, st.LK, cr.MK xx HK scissors xx RFA, U1 = 348 damage
  4. cr.MP, far st.MP xx HK scissors (1 frame link) = 262 damage
  5. cr.MP, far st.MP xx HK scissors xx RFA, U1 (1 frame link) = 460 damage

I’m practicing:

jumping rh, cr.mp, st.mp xx HK scissors FADC cr.lp, st.lp, cr.mp, st.mp xx HK Scissors for 399.

It’s not that hard. This plus the fact that we still have unblockables means we actually can get some real damage off of FADC combos. Still messing around with the most optimized RFA off of a hit confirm though.

edit: on that note, I’m just going to go for cr.mp, st.mp xx scissors as a crossup string now. you have plenty of charge time and AFAIK cr.mp is still +3 on block.

This change “Far Standing MP start-up reduced by 2 frames (8F → 6F); recovery decreased by 1 frame 11F → 10F [Combofiend listed this as 11F → 12F]; now Special/Super/and EX Focus-cancellable; damage reduced by 20 (90 → 70) [Combofiend wrote 80 → 60]; advantage on hit changed from 0 → +3; advantage on block changed from -3 → 0” Is supposedly in the 1.01 version of the Arcade Japanese, which is the Console version I think.

There has to be a way to test the frame advantage, maybe try to link it to another normal on Counter Hit.

Well I find the timing weird on cr.LP, st.LP, cr.MP, far st.MP

Always missing the link between the mediums even though I can do it fine without the jabs. Ah well could just be because it’s late at night right now. Hopefully better luck tomorrow.

Yeah don’t think Bison’s cr.MP changed. Should still have plenty of frame advantage on block.

dumb issues with cr. mp to st. mp link. doesn’t work on crouching Ryu…doesn’t work as cross up on Ryu even though the hitbox connects…yet another case of cr.mp to cr. mk …I really hope they fix this…if it doesn’t reach, OKAY, but if the hitbox connects then it should HIT.

anyone on twitter please harass combo fiend.

Haven’t got this yet due to various reasons but from what I’ve seen posted it seems like we should be plinking the Cr Mk to Far St Mp for (effectively) a two frame link each time to maximise damage right?

Where did you get this info from? specifically this bit: advantage on hit changed from 0 → +3; advantage on block changed from -3 → 0

fs.mp was already 0/+3. it was never reduced in any known change log. iirc there was one early change log where they said they “buffed” fs.mp with the exact same notes, but it looked as though whoever wrote that changelist mistook fs.mk (which DOES have -3/0) for fs.mp. unless there was a hidden nerf to fs.mp, it seems like capcom just made the same confusing mistake again. or they could have actually buffed fs.mk but i doubt that.

you can’t link fs.mp from cr.mk. only if it’s both meaty and a counter hit would that be possible. if you meant to link cr.mk from fs.mp, then that isn’t possible due to the range fs.mp activates from and its pushback. fs.mp has to be the last button you push since it’s the furthest reaching.

it’s not going to work on every character at every range. there’s a lot of push back so you have to know when to use fs.mp in your combos

All of bison’s midscreen unblockables still work. They changed nothing about his moves.

Only characters like ibuki, rufus and guile have a different hurtbox when standing after hard knockdown. So its impossible to hit it on them now. But on the other characters it will still work

Sorry, I meant Cr Mp §linked to Far St Mp Shadow. Seems like the only way to significantly increase the damage output from AE.

Sorry if I’m not reading this right but I won’t have Ultra for another week since I’m away from home so can’t test anything. Cheers for the help.

yeah but it’s not even whiffing, it’s just straight up not working. spacing doesn’t affect startup or hit stun (does it?!?) afaik so if st.mp’s hitbox connects and causes block animation, then it should hit when linked properly from cr.mp at the same spacing.

point blank cr.mp to st.mp on crouching Ryu should work but it doesn’t. if cr.mp is linked with st.mp and the hitboxes connect, then it should combo, not just magically disappear the hitstun so it doesn’t work.

It pisses me off that point blank cr.mp to st.mp isn’t going to be universal because of some buggy crap with the hotboxes. It should be fixed so that if the hitbox connects, it combos. it sounds so simple I don’t know why they couldn’t iron this kind of stuff out on our fifth iteration.

A few things I noticed.
If the second hit of Hell Attack hits without the first hit connecting it will juggle into everything.
Off a Hell Attack Juggle, if you time your Pyscho Crusher really early you will hit with the rear hitbox which does less damage.

Both of these will be very rare occurrences.

Chun can punish LK.SK on block with Super. Well that much might replace Guile as Bison’s worst.

Don’t know why people keep saying that. She’s not gonna be sitting there with a full bar, force her to use meter.

Playing Bison a little tonight it seems like he might of taken a few hitbox nerfs to st.lk and cr.mk, they don’t seem to reach as far. Or it could be the TV my xbox is hooked to

The range on those normals seem normal to me. I use s.LK a lot to punish cross unders.

They didn’t take out any of the unblockables so those throw setups are still good for people not using DWU.

Probably my tv then. A big screen is good for most games just not this, even in game mode it causes me to drop crap I never drop.

Random note and a bit off topic, my computer monitor is better but it has no HDMI only DVI. Is there a way to get it to work with my xbox or would I be better served to save up for a decent monitor? If so link a good one please.

2 frames shaved on U1 making a difference? It appears so.

Do both? Get an adapter, can’t be that expensive. Then save up for a good monitor. Evo monitors, i.e. whatever Asus monitors they use standard at Evo. They’re not that pretty but they are as close as you can get to a CRT. Things could have changed since I last checked, I’ve ducked out on SF4 since 2012 so I don’t know what’s new in the peripherals realm.
