Bison will not suck in Ultra, ExRF is a big thing for him, it may well be the biggest buff he ever had (not that he had many). Try the PCmod, you will see how much scary Bison will be with 3 meter, people will respect him because they know that you can do 400+ damage from S.MP=>H,SK ExRF from mid range. S.Mp has an excellent range and a good hitbox/dmg for a Mp. Also, if the change to DP FADC -5 stay, he may be a very strong character against shotos especially with the new EX.SK. However, his match up against Guile is ,guaranteed,much worse than before because Guile is buffed in the areas where Bison may get his damage against Guile. I am really afraid the matchup may turn out to be 9/10 Guile. Anyway, I might go to the London location test to check (If I could manage my uni work that it is)
You are talking about a poke with 6 frame start up / 90 damage / incredible range/ hitting crouchers / and can go into any special or > 3 bar cancel > Ultra …
You will be able to punish on nearly all ranges any kind of DP that whiffs or goes on block with that … or whiff punish any normal that is pressed after light SK on block … acutally it is a freakin scary button now.
Especially with +10 damage on light SK it is an awesome poke to go fishing now … like cr.lk cr.lk on block … step back … st.mp x light SK --> Similar we are doing it now with cr.mk but this will do 182 damage and with a counter hit 204 damage and is basically safe on block … it is just awesome.
And btw … it is as fast as st.mk … so it is a freakin 6 frame 90 damage footsie tool from hell that should also combo into st.hk/mk or itself on counterhit … it is like a medium version of guiles standing fierce !!!
Honestly … dont underestimate this button … and dont look only at the fact that it is now a better combo ender for his light hit confirms.
i dont think guile will be as bad as everyone says. provided the exsk buff works as intended, the mu will probably be 5-5, with a realistic chance of being slightly bison favour. no im not crazy, i mean that. you’ll just have to walk him to the corner like we always do then start whiff punishing and be ready to exsk through a boom on reaction. there will be very little guile can do in that situation
unrelated: im still really hoping for 0 sk or 3 frame jab. either one of those would make this version of bison very very good

ExSK does not work well against guile. It is very hard to punish it on reaction , you got to do it primitively and if he blocked the second hit than he might be able to ultra 1 you easily. I test it on the PC mod.
I don’t think they will reverts any of Bison nerfs, however I do wish they do, they have reverted some of adon and sakura nerfs so I hope we get similar treatment although is seems highly unlikely at this point

It is good however if you did it primitively when you suspect Guile will throw a sonic boom than you might land it and even score a counter hit. On reaction however it is nearly impossible. Even worse is that guile can bait you into doing an ExSK and he will be able to ultra 1 you even if you only touched him with the second hit.
If it is like the PCmod, than it is hardly viable as an anti-air, it is slow ,as always, with a vulnerable hurtbox and with a bad starting hitbox. If they gonna leave the frame data on it as it is than at least I wish they buff the hitbox , I mean we got to have a good hitbox at least with an anti air this slow.
Picking up Poison for sure, whether or not Bison moves around in the tiers just for the sake of learning a new character.
Bison/Poison is pretty solid for tourney play too. Poison got that good ass fireball and Bison is Bison.
I already said this but, Sonic Hurricane can now be use as an autocorrect, so if Bison is in the corner, Guile can just bait it out and wait and block.
As far as cr.HP as an anti, it’s still slow, buff it a little more. Currently it’s good to react with things like Sakura’s or Ryus air tatsus!

^^i just downloaded the PC mod and tried it out for myself.
lp.boom was still too hard to react to consistently. you’ll go all the way through the boom but guile will recover in time. i found a sweet spot about a step back from guile’s s.hp range where you can stare at him and reaction the lp.booms, but in order to catch guile you’ll need full focus to react in time and you can very easily be baited
mp/hp booms were much easier to deal with though. ex boom was never too difficult even without the buff - basically like going through a high tiger.
trying out the s.mp cancel with bison was also pretty fun. s.mp will always link from s.lk at max range which is excellent to know. you should always be using s.lk right before the s.mp to make bison’s combos consistent otherwise you may get a f.lp by mistake and cancel into unsafe scissors
the exsk buff is not fun. you wizz through any fireball at any distance except max, and there is no timing involved. it’s impossible to be too slow and impossible to be too quick. really, take 2 steps forward from the wall, have any fireballer on the other side, let them throw their plasma and see what happens. there is no timing, no spacing, nothing. the buff throws everything out of whack and doesn’t help with guile so i actually want them to remove it. well, they can either remove it or buff it more. i mean, it’s already brain-dead now so why not just make it start up faster so it can catch guile booms consistently?
the more i play this version of bison the more i like him.
s.mp will allow bison to zone out yun. yun is now a winning match up for bison. on larger characters you can now do c.lp, cl.lp, c.mp, s.mp, sk. that’s a lot of extra damage.
oh and that c.fierce buff is a lot better than you guys are giving credit for. A LOT better. i’m talking stuff rufus dive kicks better. catch your attention did i? well test it out when you get the chance. high level rufus’s delay their divekicks to beat bison’s anti airs, but now there are a lot of consistent angles where you will either trade (your favour) or stuff it clean. there are still losing angles and timings but with practice i promise rufus will be a piece of cake to zone. couple that with the s.mp that lets you stuff even more angled dive kicks… well a lot of bison’s harder match ups are disappearing
honda’s exhb? full punish now. cammy dive kicks? unless it’s a perfect divekick (taps the VERY edge pixel of your toe or is EX), mash short and you WILL win. yun gets past your super awesome new zoning? MASH SHORT! hahahahaha
man i keep testing things out and bison is going to have A LOT of legit 7-3s and 6-4s in his favour
