So what are your best options against grapplers? I still struggle against the likes of Laura, Gief and Mika (especially Gief) because of how good dash-up command grab or empty jump command grab is. Hell, I’m grabbed out of a full range standing mk.
I figure you just play it like how you would grapplers in most games, by poking them and not letting them get in, but for some reason it feels harder to deal with here, especially because their oki puts you in a… well, not quite a 50/50. More like a 33/33/33.
it’s hard, man.
On top of that I find that I’m getting beaten by people who manage to block everything I do. Frame traps and dash-up grab and quick skull crushers. How do you open up people with such solid defense? Right now I’m at super silver, but I haven’t budged from the ~3100 lp range for a while now.
Edit: Getting pretty pissed. What the fuck do you do on wake up? He has literally no options. Just “sit there and block” does jack all when they tick throw or command grab you. It’s literally just a guess every single time with a character who can’t punish neutral jumps effectively.
I genuinely don’t know what to do here. Been losing games so much lately because I can’t fucking stand up. Blocking does nothing, teching does nothing. It’s literally just a guessing game. On top of that the V-reversal doesn’t even work half of the time. it’s the stupidest thing. It tries to instead do a charge forward, and I’ve lost well over 10 matches because it tries to do his v-reversal and instead, ex psycho blast comes out.
What am I doing wrong?
JFC I’d picked up Bison initially pre-beta 1. He’s currently my secondary and I had no idea all special cancels in V-Trigger required no charge, not just the EX ones from regular specials…
I too suffer from the EX Blast instead of V-Reversal problem We’re just holding it too long as you don’t need to hold back throughout the whole block string in this game. So literally block the first active frame, then do the v-reversal. (or so I think)
I think this was a bug. Seems that they fixed it in the April update.
Bug: When throwing an opponent with Psycho Fall, depending on M. Bison’s position and the side he is facing, the distance the opponent is thrown greatly changes, which was unintended.
Fix: Adjusted the behavior of Psycho Fall so that the distance the opponent is thrown is fixed.
Its been a long time since I posted in this forum. Started picking up bison simply because the character is super fun. However its hard to find the frame I am looking for.
Here’s the list
Devil’s reversal. I hear so many things about it being + on block or neutral. Not to mention, is there a thread that mentions the various difference in version depending on when you press and which button you press?
Ex devils reverse same as above even less information.
V triggered devil reverse same as above
V trigger ex devil reverse, properties seems weird since it cant be done after ex stomp which is annoying and doesn’t seem to be able to steer making it easy to whiff, am I missing something? Once again the variations I wrote above
Forward Dash invincibility frames
V trigger forward dash frames and invincibilitu frames
Ok its more clear during v trigger if you press punch late in devils reverse it’ll appear lower or next to the opponent compared to if you were to press it earlier. Its hard to believe the frames on block is the same if you press it late and early considering one is you’re lower to the ground the other is you’re higher to the ground think of it like Cammy dive kick blocking it when she hits your head on block vs below the knees
I’ll look up the frame data later, but off the top of my head. Reg. DR is neutral on block, Ex.DR is plus by a few frames. V. DR is plus by a few frames, and VEX. DR is plus by a ton of frames. I think you’re right, and in Vtrigger of you can time V DR to hit deep, so that he appears right behind then and low to the ground it will be a little more advantageous. Also off the top of my head, V DR actually has more invincible frames during the teleport than VEX DR. Just for your future reference.
On a separate note
When bison is in v trigger is ex headstomp avoids everything meaty? I know non v trigger ex headstomp gets stuffed by big active frame moves
