I hope he keeps it. I mean I’m not upset with how his dash was before, but fuck it its Bison and he’s all psycho powered out in this game anyway. Just let it be.
Some people are saying it’s a glitch, I don’t think so, it looks intentional. This is at the very least an experiment, but I think and hope that SF5 is gonna get crazier. A lot of people commented about how the game felt barebones and basic, adding some insanity to fights like this his warp somehow makes sense. Did you see Zangief’s new tools? He’s crazy. I hope all the characters get some flavor.
But if this is 100% just visual, then his backdash needs to warp for consistency’s sake. Although I am hoping its a toned down version of his V trigger dash, and like Kriger said, his V trigger dash gets buffed too.
At this rate, Akuma’s ashura senku will be his dash and his raging demon will be his V-skill.
He should keep this Tele-dash. My logic? He doesn’t have his insane fast walk-speed from SF4, nor his Physcho crusher or teleport. I approve of this build
Kinda funny that this comes about just as I talk about his drudging movement in footsies.
We’ll see if this dash has some more specific weaknesses to it compared to the V Trigger version or if it has all the same properties. It would be nice to have a game where the characters can move without having to wait for their V Trigger. The way old Bison was I was seeing some matchups where he was just going to get completely outmaneuvered until V Trigger came up.
Much as I love that he can teleport outside of V-Trigger, that takes away the specialty of V-Trigger. Besides, if it’s the same as the dash in the previous builds move porperty-wise, that’s just stupid. I’m all for cosmetics, but if it doesn’t serve any purpose other than move him forward like every other dash does, than revert it back to the previous form, I say.
That teleporting dash animation is pretty bad for bison imo. It’s a huge visual cue that a dash is occurring so you can go ahead and throw him out of it now.
Kinda like Juri trying to tick throw you where you saw her put her leg down to start walking.
They might have done adjustments to his V Trigger and Bison’s V Trigger is quite varied and isn’t set around just the dashes. He probably has the most things change of any character when he’s in V Trigger so it’s still very unique even with this change. Those changes are rather apparent too. As opposed to a character like Necalli where people are still trying to figure out what his V Trigger even does.
Anything to push him away from having as poor basic movement as Zangief when he’s not in V Trigger would be nice. Walk speed buff would be more preferable, but at least this gets him to move around without committing to a special move.
His special moves still recieve some sort of new ability in V-trigger. I don’t know all the specefics, but frame data changes with psycho inferno, scissor kick. Devil’s reverse and headstomp change visually as Bison teleports instead of jumping, ex headstomp hits OTG if opponent doesn’t quickrise, etc.
His v-trigger isn’t just a teleport dash. Psycho power is to be feared now.
I still don’t understand. I’m not discounting what you’re saying, but I really don’t understand what you expect it to do. Are you asking for damage even if you don’t hit them?
Changing his walk from his current walk to his faster levitating walk from the Alpha/Zero series would make a lot of sense for his V-Trigger. Both visually menacing and resolving the sloth-like walk. On the bright side, he may end up with one of the best dashes in the game so I’m relieved somehwat.
could you imagine bison’s back walk animation too ? I always loved the fact that he had his arms crossed while levitating back with the cape floating. Looked like a true Boss character
