id play cable even if he sucked cause i <3 him
This right here is true loyalty. And I have the same mentality for Strider if he makes it in.
if a character sucks, screw that I say. MAKE HIM work or stay as a shitty character.
…that’s not to say I want strider to intentionally suck so I can find out some tech to make him S-tier again, though. lol
I was REALLY stoked when Hsien-Ko was confirmed and I used her pretty good, but I had to switch because she’s SOOO SLOW. I wouldn’t mind re-trying her out again, but I’m not switching Amaterasu any time soon.
But if Strider makes it in AND sucks (God forbid) then I will use every resource and all the time possible to make him a God (even if he becomes a Roll tier).
Shockwave? Okami Shuffle? Gamma Tsunami? Photon Array? Legion Arrow?
You mean like Arthur? Or Cap?
both of them can zone pretty well they just get blown up by all the projectile eating, teleport type moves and invincible supers
AHVB is weird in MvC2 in that it doesn’t seem to be affected by damage scaling. It takes three AHVBs to kill a character that isn’t named Sent/Juggs/Hulk because an AHVB does roughly the same amount of damage no matter how late it is in a combo or how many AHVBs you’ve done beforehand. In other words:
- 1st AHVB = 34%
- 2nd AHVB = 34%
- 3rd AHVB = 34%
Which easily translated to three bars = dead character in MvC2.
If Cable ever returned for Super MvC3, I would bet money that he would still be able to AHVB and combo multiples of them just like before. Except here’s how it would be nerfed: AHVB suffers actual damage scaling in our theoretical game of Super MvC3. This would mean that if you went to combo multiple AHVBs (again in theory), it would look something like this:
- 1st AHVB = 25%
- 2nd AHVB = 17%
- 3rd and subsequent AHVBs = 12%
This would total up to be roughly a 54%-55% combo from raw AHVBs alone, which would downgrade the attack from being a one-touch kill to Cable’s version of a level 3 super. You could continue to blow bars and keep comboing into AHVBs, but at that point the damage would become scaled and probably not worth it to spend the meter unless you’re going to kill a character on the 4th or even 5th AHVB. Note that although AHVB would be nerfed in this instance, it would still remain as the go-to assist killer. Considering that your assists will still come out even if you get hit after calling them (whereas they would taunt and then leave the screen in MvC2), it would still be very, very scary to call assists against Cable when he has multiple bars at his disposal.
This would likely be the only major change I would make to Cable. Keepaway is just flat-out horrendous in MvC3 when you can’t build meter from whiffing attacks, beam supers have startups that almost rival that of Cable’s actual AHVB, and there are no good anti-air assists. The rest of his normals and specials could get some minor tweaks, but I wouldn’t change much after that. The game right now really needs Corridor assist as a way to counter sloppy and mindless rushdown.
Eddie Brock should be in this game as he is the people’s and nitsuma’s choice
Must get him
Also they should add megacrash to xfactor
Eddie Brock isn’t even venom so I dunno if marvel would ever even ok that ,
Strider Roll tier?
CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.
Oh excuse me, he would be bad if he were extremely slow (like Arthur), or his projectile just got nerfed to be totally worthless (like Cap).
I mean yeah, if they’re trying to make him awful, on purpose, he would be bad. But there’s no reason he would have to be. You’re basically complaining about something that hasn’t happened yet and probably won’t happen ever.
Marvel should seriously pull their heads out of their asses and give both fans what we want. Some of the hardcore gamers want alot of the veterans to return (you can say that Cyclops is a shoto character [which was bullshit] but do what they did with the other characters and tweak them around), and give the hardcore comic supporters what THEY want (not really sure who they would want but some of the more obscure characters come to mind who would ACTUALLY be cool to play as [and makes more sense than MODOK])
good thing I sold my game before price went down.
There’s no other Venom other than Eddie Brock fuck all those wannabe’s and the bully turned paraplegic soldier
Cloak/Dagger as one character would be so godlike.
I wouldnt even mind if they made you pick them both as 2 separate characters so you could only put one other character on a C&D team.
Cloak and Dagger, two of the most bleh characters of all time. A under privelleged black guy with a stutter with a spoiled rich white girl. Of course the black guy has darkness powers and the white girl is his light…good going marvel!
There’s a strong lack of Doop in this thread.
Are we forgetting he survived a battle with Thor AND dumped a chick to start a romance with the private detective her very husband had hired to find Doop?
Not many. Dormammu has Dark Hole hit confirm into Chaotic Flame, and Dormammu is a good zoning character (not for that reason alone, of course). His grenades would probably be like Trish’s Peekaboo traps except projectiles, similar to Deadpool’s Pinapple but with more varying degrees of angle. And we have to remember this is a three button game again now so Cable would have three arcs to his grenades instead of two like in MvC2.
Sorry I meant regular VB. Regular VB with 5 pts of durability would be just as good as other top beams in the game.
This was exactly my point. Horizontal space is something not a lot of characters can control in the air which could give Cable an easy advantage, or at the very least a tool which makes him unique and different to the rest of the cast, in a good way. Personally I think the reason Chris or Wesker’s jumping shot or Deadpool’s jumping hyper isn’t horizontal is because it would be too good. Look at Chris, he would be an ultimately better zoning character if things like his jumping Shotgun covered horizontal space as he’d actually have a way to deal with jumping opponents. So would Deadpool as he’d then be able to hit confirm off both standing gun shots and jumping gun shots, from long range.
While jumping, Cable covers the space out in front of him, as well as a great deal of the space below; I don’t think any MvC3 character controls this much space in the air besides maybe Taskmaster. The closest would be Deadpool and when you think about it Cable would simply be a better version of him, as he has more ways to land damage and more freedom in his positioning to maintain control. He would be useful against characters like Phoenix or Dark Phoenix who like to super jump and throw H Shot fireballs all day. Jumping horizontal gun shot hit confirm into AHVB?
No, but it’s famed for it’s long range and quick startup/recovery. Good for landing safe high damage punnishes full screen, with the obvious option to XF for more damage.
I’m not so sure.
I say that if they’re gonna nerf Cable’s HVB (Like they did with Magneto’s Magnetic Tempest), make Cable faster. I want only the people who will use Phoenix as a real character than “OMG DARK PHOENIX!!! SPAM THEM FIREBALLS!!!”. Then the scrubs will be shitting bricks when they find out that they can’t beat Cable using that scrub shit so they’ll either jump back to Sentinel (if they weren’t already) or actually learn how to play the fucking game AND how to properly use Phoenix.
But they should put Cable EXACTLY how he was in MvC2 but change his AHVB slightly and make him faster.
I’ve been saying this since before MVC3 came out, if we’re going to have a Breath of Fire rep then it should be Myria as a boss on the Capcom side. In arcade mode you select your path either on the Marvel or Capcom side and she’d be the counterpart to Galactus.
