Are you using Classic sound effects? I can’t stand the pathetic noises that come from the Dynamic SFX. Plus I love the choir sound that comes from level 3 supers starting up and DHCing into your third character.
Uh, I…
I feel like an idiot for never having found that feature. ^_^’
But I rarely look for that stuff.
I dunno. Sounds a bit… I dunno. Just a little off. This is perhaps just bias because I came up with it, but I feel Dragon Boy would actually fit. Yeah it’s a litte cheezy, but hear me out. A strongly silent young boy/man… who is a dragon. The lack of a name helps with the aloof, somewhat enigmatic nature I associate with a silent protagonist. As evidenced by my avatar, I am a fan of strong-hearted, kind, “Is he mute?” souls that are old school (And Atlus) RPG protagonists. (I also love Serge from Chrono Cross. All of them have blue hair as well… Hmm…)
But enough of that, this is a fighting game site. I can’t get myself started.
Speaking of sound effects, I miss the loud smack/popping sound you hear in MvC1 when a Capcom character hits you with a Fierce. Now that was a sound that made it seem like it hurt. :-p
gimme crazy modes please, like Mortal Kombat. I’d like to see 1v1, 2v2, in addition to 3v3 matches, as well as something similar to Test Your Luck
Ok, so even if MvC2 was the better game most of yall were shit in it anyway, just like you’re shit in MvC3 lol.
So I dont see the point of harping about how “bad” MvC3 is compared to 2. You garbage in both games. Thats the cackle.
since someone mentioned BoF, I figured I might as well throw it out there: I want Fou Lou in the game. lol. MvC’s not had a BoF rep at all. we need more ye olde english-speak characters besides Arthur.
It would also make Felicia (and any other character dependent on throw resets into OTG) literally useless.
I almost can’t believe there are still button layout complaints. MvC2 button layout prevents characters from using mediums as pokes. Ryu actually has access to his best poke in this game (c.MK). Double-tapping for mediums was one of my least favorite things about MvC2 and I’m glad it’s gone.
There are legitimate gripes about MvC3, but half of what I see are people unwilling to accept a decent game they were given because it’s not exactly the game they wanted.
It’s possible to have tech rolling and still have OTG combos.
Also I think the button layout is fine, they managed to fit a fuckton of moves to only really 3 buttons.
I agree about the buttons, that never bothered me.
All I’m saying is that the combos in this game make most fights end too quickly and seem somewhat one sided (i.e.one touch deaths), and I’d take any idea that would fix that. Actually, I’m thinking this has more to do with X-Factor now…
I mean it really is an unneeded feature. They would have better spent their resources putting megacrash in than X-Factor.
I just want frank, alex, war machine, black panther, daredevil as some rolento-ish character, luke cage, ghost rider, silver surfer, ice man, souki, silver samurai, samuel l jackson, and blade.
Seriously i know there’s dante, wesker, and deadpool as gun and swords guys. But i want blade, nigga is the day walker and is having an anime released soon.
He would be like a better hayate with guns.
I approve of this. If you mean Hayato.
We need Blade or Gambit, so I can pair them with Wesker and Dante for team trench. I need trench coats and ninjas Capcom. Robo-ninjas. With scarves and orbs…
IMO, Capcom can go ahead and release it, but I at least want some sort of benefit for pretty much “Beta testing” the game for a whole 60$ dollars. I’d like something along the lines of an ACTUAL discount (not trade-in) for handing in MvC3, like lowering it from a possible 60$ or 40$ to a 30$-20$.
…But then again, this is all an opinion.
Ideally, I’d like to see a ~$40 standard edition and ~$60 special edition that includes all the old MvC games (from COTA onward). It’d be nice to have some kind of retro package put together while Capcom has access to the license.
Is there any news or rumors (lupinko) yet? Strider hiryu being announced is the biggest thing i’m waiting for.
Frank West was a good character in TvC, and I think it’d be an awesome idea to have him on the MvC train. As for Phoenix Wright… meh. ya got me on that one.
To throw my two cents into this discussion I think that they should have a feature where the music from MvC 2 plays instead of the music they have currently. Or just have a “MvC2 mode” where all the old sound effects come in. (I bet there is at least one other person who wants to hear “Who will survive…? BEGIN!!!”)
Seemed kinda odd that they’d produce three “Take Me For A Ride” tracks and not have an option for them to be your default selection themes. I wouldn’t call it a waste, but it is an oversight.
I agree with all of this.
First off, not being able to use medium attacks outside of a combo is one of my biggest pet peeves in MvC2. I still love the game, but many characters are bad in MvC2 because they do not have direct access to their medium attacks. Shuma-Gorath and Chun-Li are two great examples. Ryu is another with his crouch forward. B.B. Hood is also a good example, as pretty much all of her strongs are solid normals due to their range, but alas they can only be used in combos.
And don’t forget Blackheart. His jumping strong is ridiculous. R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S. If he could have used that normal outside of combos, he would have easily remained in the top tier instead of slipping down as the game’s lifespan progressed.
Second, regarding tech rolling. I know a lot of you out there want to see it return, but thing is, MvC3 was built around OTGs. The entire engine would have to be reworked as virtually every single character in the game that does not have an air super would be unable to combo into a super after launch > magic series > j.S knockdown.
