Lupinko says there will be a Super MvC3 [rambling and dreams: enter at your own risk]

2p 2k 2 assists is all i asked for and it didnt happen, i dont think well ever see 3p 3k in a marvel game ever again

I can’t tell if having “less” buttons has made people play smarter or dumber. It’s like the amount of buttons directly attributed to one character’s attacking parameters have decreased but the amount of craziness has quantified. Still I give Capcom a 1-UP in the creativity department for at least making the reduction in buttons work.

I feel like saying there are less buttons is inaccurate though since there are still six physical buttons, I’m at a loss on how to describe it correctly.

You know, at first I was on the fence about the new button layout from MvC1 to MvC2, but it didn’t take too long to adapt. Honestly, it didn’t take too long to adapt to MvC3’s layout either, since playing TvC kinda sorta helped get me used to it. While I prefer MvC1 and contest it is the better game of the 3, I do prefer MvC2’s button layout more for some reason.

I’m with NickGuy, I doubt we will ever have a MvC game go back to 3p and 3k again. I personally wouldn’t mind if the Marvel games use the 2p 2k 2 assists as the standard for its games like 3p 3k is the standard for SF games. The LMHS and 2 assists thing could just stick with TvC (if they are gonna continue it).

With how many people are now dissatisfied with MvC3, I want to make this point, and I’m curious to know what others think about this. But if Capcom were to just do MvC4 next instead of a Super MvC3 or whatever, and they made it darn near close to how MvC2 was, sans infinites (cough100%combostoocough) and God tier inconsistencies, and with a roster that’s a mix of new chars, favs from MvC3 and MvC2, people would be elated. While I do agree MvC3 is fairly “balanced” (in quotes for a reason), because most characters are in fact viable, there are just some mechanics in MvC3 that were unnecessary that cause me not to enjoy it as much.

Yeah, but then we’d have to wait 2-3 years to get it. MVC3 just needs fixing.

Speaking of, one thing I’d like fixed (a really tiny thing, too) are the punch/kick SFX. They’re just so… quiet.
During Hypers the SFX are okay, but normal hits sound crappy. I like to really feel it when I hit someone, and I don’t get that at all with MVC3. In MVC2, there was a real pop to each hit. They should bring that back.

Agreed, but the problem is from something I posted a couple weeks back. From the sheer amount of stuff people want “fixed” in MvC3, specifically, it wouldn’t really be MvC3 anymore. The people who love (or tolerate) MvC3 love the constant OTGs, 10-20 second combos, 100% combos, no tech rolling. But the people whom have major issues like the aforementioned examples I gave, plus the high damage output, Phoenix/Dark Phoenix BS!, ground bounces, or have (like myself) tried, and tried, and tried, and tried to like this game but just can’t – it just wouldn’t be MvC3 with the stuff people want changed/fixed.

I do have ideas (like most) on what could make MvC3 better and more playable/enjoyable [for me] if they wanted to keep the stuff listed above active, but it would come with some major tweaks.

Right, but considering it would be an update, they could afford a lot of balance changes and even possibly some system changes (although those would take longer to iron out the kinks in). If it’s gonna be SMVC3, it better have changes. If they brought back tech rolls, this would be a whole new ballgame, and a better one at that. I agree, I don’t like being taken for a ride either.

But I will say that I don’t mind OTG stuff as long as it’s always in moderation.

I’m Tony Sinclair, and *that’s *how you Tanqueray.

Honestly, I like MvC3 way more than I like SSF4 AE. Sure it may not be as “balanced” but imo it is a much more hyped game with true punishment for mistakes.

Being that half the stuff you can do in MvC3 is based off of no tech rolling, and repeated OTGs, I wouldn’t be surprised if those remain in a SMvC3 more than a MvC4. If they do go the SMvC3 route, I just see an expansion or more minor tweaks to it coming, like:
[]maybe reduced damage output – maybe.
[
]ability to use regular Phoenix, or Dark Phoenix with health and damage tweaks
[]hit stun tweaks to prevent repeated relaunches and OTGs
[
]reinstating characters falling out of combos if they are hit too many times and maybe an auto-tech roll afterward as to escape
[]fixing characters so they turn around in the air when jumping over opponents
[
]fixing the DHC trick
This would keep the game MvC3, but perhaps a bit more tolerable and balanced…perhaps?

Actually the gay marriage thing was sarcasm. I was using it as a stupid thought process that goes into the concept of “if it’s not broke don’t fix it.” A very republican mindset when faced with the concept of change. My thought process is more like if it can be better, why not? The river runs deep, but intent is often lost on the internet.

I could care less what gay people do…unless they grab my ass.

Well, I’m all for anything they can do that will shorten the combos into something more reasonable, or at least make them more escapable.

Doubt it. seems like they only release a new number when a new console comes out SF3& MvC2 for Xbox/PS2, SF4&MvC3 for xbox360/PS3

Um, the democratic President is against Gay Marriage too…but then again he has started 4 new armed conflicts in two years so I guess there isn’t much difference between Bush and Obama.http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/national-security/us-drones-target-two-leaders-of-somali-group-allied-with-al-qaeda/2011/06/29/AGJFxZrH_story.html?hpid=z1
The only difference I see is that Bush can’t speak well and Obama can’t count

Do we seriously need to be arguing about politics in here?

Cause I’m looking at the title at the top of the page, and… honestly I don’t see where politics figure into it.

So… Breath of Fire Ryu anyone? Seriously, pick a Ryu, any Ryu!!! (Preferably one with blue hair. Quarter was cool, it’s just the sky blue hair is more… iconic)

The only reason I’m reluctant to put him on any wantlists of mine is the name.

Fine, Bleu then. She’s a magic snake lady. Can’t beat that.

Yeah, I think Ryu from BoF would be a difficult sell to put in MvC (or any vs. game for that matter) for his name alone, sadly. Because the question would be “if we’re gonna use a Ryu, why not just from SF.” Unless they wanted to change his name to Ryo. shrug

Yeah, I know. Actually, in BoF II, Ryu has a last name. He was Ryu Bateson. Maybe just call him R. Bateson or something. Hell just call him Dragon Ryu. Fuck it, go with** DRAGON BOY**… which honestly would make some sense since you can name him whatever you want in the games, which cannot be said for anyone else in the Capcom line-up (Bar me having a memory lapse here). Ryu is just the default you don’t know exists unless you just hit start.

Make some shit up. I can only imagine him being friggin awesome, and I think the only issue being the name is weak… Well that and Capcom seems to care less and less for it’s classic series’ these days. If the MM classic series can’t get a rep (Given it’s activity and popularity), what hope does the Dragon Boy have? :frowning:

Ryu the Dragon, maybe?

One thing I’ve learned during my lifetime is to seperate a presidents stance from those their affiliated with. Sarcasm coming by the way. We all know the people who voted for Obama are thoroughly pleased with all his policies. Yes, I’m from NYC. Go Yankees and hooray for Steve and Bob.

Back to wishlists please. K, Thx
