I sense yet another meaningless and long argument on an internet forum.
It’s almost a stereotype at this point.

Forums are asexual dating services. When you find ‘the one’ you’re compelled to converse.
I picked Spiderman/Cammy/Mega Man in MvC2 and never got crap for it. If that’s supposed to be your example of playing with lower end of the spectrum, then yeah, you’ve never played genuine casual players.
It wasn’t. In fact that was a strike against ‘hardcore’ players. Not sure how you misunderstood that, but I’ll take the shot and just say I wrote it wrong.
Edit: Reading my post over now I find it ridiculous that you read it that way.
Love it. There is so many cool obscure characters from Marvel or Capcom they could use. But I am 100% sure will see Mega Man, Strider, Cyclopse, and Venom.
I dunno about Cyke. I don’t think they care to have him in. But Strider damn well better be in.
Actually, come to think of it, that whole set sounds good. I’d buy 'em. I mean sure, I’d love to see more Rival Schools and Power Stone love (Batsu and Ryoma specifically), but I’d still buy the ones you mentioned.
Please. It was more than strike against players who ostracize you for picking venom in mvc2. You were rationalizing your idea that people who hold the competitive mindset are the majority, with anecdotal evidence. How do I play against these ‘hardcore’ players without picking characters that I like?
What I’m telling you is that most people don’t care about making a team that’s as good as Santhrax or MSP.
Me too, but as a Thanos fanboy (got 3 Thanos posters on my walls right now :P) I want to see him in!
@PurpleL:
But… that was my message - that *most *people do not care for tier lists. You’re agreeing with me.
There’s a severe misunderstanding here. lol We are certainly saying the same thing. I’m sorry you read it wrong, or perhaps I wrote it wrong. But you do certainly seem predisposed to this position against me. Please, argue in good faith and see what I’m saying, then you’d know we’re actually in agreement.
Heh heh, I guess sometimes people are so hungry for an argument they’ll have it with someone they agree with. Seriously though, it’s just a misunderstanding.
Oh yeah. I can just imagine him throwing out Gauntlet Power. Just a giant (almost fullscreen) fireball. Like Phoenix’s but more round and not as powerful obviously.
I would argue that I have no intention on playing Skrull as he is. I find the characters playstyle to be boring. What I mean by as “complete” is doing his comic iteration justice. Similarly to how Dante people feel that Dante is perfect. I like the Skrull character in the comics and as he is, is kind of bleh.
You must be a republican.
As a Dante fan I can attest that there’s a few more tricks from DMC3 that isn’t in MvC3. If I had my way he’d have more moves than he has now!
We’re not, but I give up.
Made me lol
Skrull in the comic books is also a good guy right now. The comics change so much in just different monthly issues. Though, the entire Skrull/Kree story involving Hulkling, and the Secret Skrull invasion is one of my favorites. /nerdtime
I’d like to see his down down H, and tenderizer removed, and give him an 8 way air dash. I just don’t like tenderizer. I’d also like to see his Orbital grudge be better somehow.
First off, the entire X-Men team did not make the MVC2 roster, so why waste needlessly space, effort, and resources on the entire F4 team of characters–creating them anyways… additionally, Kl’rt (S.Skrull) will suffice. Second, this isn’t MVC2’s roster, so I don’t get how that’s even part of your discussion. This is a new game with almost all new character/animations and the whole nine. Thirdly, MVC2 used mostly recycled sprites, so it didn’t take as much effort to bring the character count up to 56. Fourth, this isn’t MVC2. Fifth and lastly, this isn’t Marvel VS Capcom 2…
Besides that, I get your lingo. However, it’s fair to say that NONE of the Marvel characters’ powers are used/ animated/ whatever in ways that show their full potential, as all of them are limited by the set of moves they are assigned for this game. It wouldn’t be possible to see most of these characters’ full arsenals without it playing like complete horse shit.
I wasn’t arguing that you stated you wanted all four of them in the game. I simply stated that the Fantastic Four is the kinda deal where they are one main unit, a unit that has always been known to work best as a team and not as separate/solo “superhero entities.” It would be like Surfer without the board or Deadpool without the guns to put one member in without the others. Each F4 member has always been an extension of the other members and vice versa. They are all equal. I know it’s a 3 on 3 game and there’s no way the four of them can be on the same team anyway (and certainly most players wouldn’t want to if they were all in and it were possible), so I will leave that one alone… In the comics, Skrull uses a combination of all of their powers. The fullest potential thing is not the argument. It would be impossible for most of Marvel’s lineup to demonstrate the full extent of their individual tricks and powers in a game like this. The fact of the matter remains that Skrull DOES use all four of their powers. Even in the comics, this is the case. He has all four of their powers and knows the basics if not has a mastery of them all…and can combine them all in various combinations and use more than one at a time in one single attack. The fact that he uses mostly fire attacks is the result of the move set he was given for the game. And I’ve been reading comics for over 20 years, by the way–albeit I am not an authority on them–I think I have demonstrated that I have some knowledge about the Marvel Universe.
Now about the logic comment: I was specifically speaking on the fact that you said some mumbo jumbo about F4 characters not making it because of some legal issues that involved former Torch actor now playing the role of Cap. This made no sense whatsoever. Cap is in the game, so why can’t Torch or the other F4 members? My I.Q. dropped a few points attempting to extract some type of sense from that statement. I was just wondering the source from which you acquired that info. That’s all.
PS, sorry for the essay.
Skrull should really play more like Victor from Darkstalkers in close combat, he has more in common with Victor than he actually does with Sim. He shouldn’t really have shitty normals when the guy has Reed Richard’s powers+Thing+ flames.
I just wish Victor, or John was in instead of felicia, hsien-ko, or Morrigan.
