Lupinko says there will be a Super MvC3 [rambling and dreams: enter at your own risk]

With SF x T and 3So coming out, releasing SMvC3 would be poor business. Save Super MvC3 for when interest in MvC3 really wanes. I really enjoy MvC3, and my biggest fear is that SFxT is going to replace MvC3 as the main event on streams, like MvC3 did to SSF4. Im happy about that change, but for someone who hates MvC3 and loves them some SSF4, they got royally screwed.

That’s your biggest fear?

Anyway Capcom pimped SSF4AE and MvC3 together. Now it will be SFxTK and Super/Hyper MvC3. They have no problem having two fighters together, since they appeal to different types of players.

Its going to be like that for every new game. Kinda hard to please all groups who want to watch X game on streams.

except marvel still held its own against mk9. I do think that X tekken will become the new game. I have talked to a couple people who say it is their favorite street fighter game to date. I have never been that big of a tekken game fan (I like some of the characters and such though) but it does look interesting. Although they really need to change the colors for the health bars. It is way to hard to tell at a glance how much health players have. And I shouldn’t have to take my eyes off the fighting for a few seconds to actually focus in on the health bars.

I think marvel is here to stay as a fighting game but as the most popular fighting game I don’t give it long. Also E3 is over and there was no announcement at all about anything marvel related. Seems they really wanted to focus e3 on X tekken, and resident evil.

Resident is Capcom’s cash cow and SF x T is a 2 company effort. I’d expect MvC3 news at a comic convention thing.

SFxTK is a one company effort. Namco has nothing to do with it.

You know, the more issues I see that people want fixed/modified/removed from this game, it’s all the more reason I still believe that it would be in Capcom’s best interest to just make this MvC4 instead of a Super/Hyper MvC3. For one thing (unless I read it wrong), Lupinko didn’t say Super MvC3, he just said “next year for dat marvel”, so it could conceivably be the next installment. Like I said before, when the vs. series started in the late 90s, there was a new version every year…

It’s up for debate, but given how the XF system, the long OTG window, excessive juggles, wall/ground bounce, weird hitboxes and hitstun are done in MvC3, then to take XF out (as mentioned above), fixing the hitboxes/hitstun, or reducing the OTG window, etc., it wouldn’t be MvC3 anymore, right? That being the case, then it should be MvC4 instead.

Makes sense to me, given how upset this game makes people nowadays, or (like myself) we’ve given up on it, or from what I saw the other day where a brand new copy of the game I saw in stores was reduced to $45…4 months after release…

i would love an mvc4 fixing all those issues listed above…however, i fear the next game will remove XF and put something equally stupid (or worse) into the game. mvc3 isnt a TERRIBLE game, it’s actually a really good foundation that had alot of dumb crap added to it on top. i loved it when i played it at nycc, but the final game i dont like.

That’s fine. What I’m saying is: suggesting that x-factor be nerfed because you can use it to do something that will basically never give you an advantage is fucking stupid. If you want that argument to hold up, you have to give an example of using x-factor to actually do something powerful.

More importantly, scrub isn’t a skill level, it’s a mindset.

And this is the mindset. Instead of bitching about the mechanic, nut up and think of a way to deal with it.

Both companies making money off it and I’m sure Namco is giving input somewhere like okaying their characters. They are both involved.

No. Namco is not involved. Not for okaying characters, mechanics, anything. This is something Capcom stressed when the game was revealed. All the details and interactions match up as well, so I don’t smell corporate BS. I mean… what would be gained by saying Namco isn’t involved on a promotion/advertisement context? It seems silly they’d hide that fact, when people would otherwise be okay with Namco being involved.

Or I can just post a link of Harada’s repeated tweets saying he’s knows jack about the game and he knows as much as we do. This works the other way around, Capcom doesn’t know what Namco is doing with TKxSF. I think it’s an interesting way to do things.

(Bear in mind this isn’t a first, CvS and ChaosSvC were similarly split between developers with nobody stepping on the other’s shoes)

you only need to x-factor yourself…

Remove XF(This isn’t realistic so let’s just say tone it down by a huge margin). Remove DHC glitch. Fix Phoenix. Buff the weaker chars.

>>Best capcom game in a long time.

I dunno about removing DHC glitch.Yes it seems broken at first, but it also allows for more creative teams.

It’s not that it seems broken. It’s a brain dead easy way to do combos that should take some sort of skill. The only thing it does is make it easier to kill people and artificially boost bad characters’ usefulness by making them seem viable because they can initiate this glitch while making the top tiers even stronger and more obvious choices on any team.

All capcom would have to do to allow you to do extended combos is reduce HSD across the board(not for everyone though, Dante with reduced HSD would be silly). Except then kill combos would actually take some work.

I like most of those things, but removing X-Factor isn’t necessary, it just needs to be rebalanced. I think having the ability to use it as a Combo Breaker would be nice (and maybe do a super scaled combo afterwards like Mega Crash in TvC). Mainly though the damage and duration need to be reduced so it can’t make sweeping a team with one character so easy.

X-Factor is broken, it allows super scrubby day 1 short combos to literally do 1 million damage without even using 3 bars. It’s probably the only thing in the game that’s honestly broken, although TAC comes close.

“You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.” -Inigo Montoya

dhc glitch is half and half… i would be all for it if it was expanded maybe…like if there were more combinations of chars it worked with

xfactor needs a major nerf. removing it from the game isnt necessary or realistic…but capcom needs to select a creative solution to making it not complete bullshit. it affects the integrity of the game in a negative way…i like the idea of using it in hit stun to use it as a mega crash or burst

X-Factor as currently implemented is probably broken. However, you have yet to list a single actual reason why.
