Lupinko says there will be a Super MvC3 [rambling and dreams: enter at your own risk]

We all know how effective gamers are at boycotting anything.

Wait, people actually think the game was unfinished? You guys want an example of an unfinished game? Play the recent versions of NBA 2K series. THAT’S unfinished. Stats not finished, multi-colored bodies, iffy colision detection. What I’m trying to say is that would any of you have found those glitches out? When have you ever been in a situation to run into that glitch? If those vigilant few never came out with exposing videos, you wouldn’t have even known there was anything wrong. Don’t act like you’re all Desks, exploring and picking the game apart. I’m tired of all these arguments about the lack of stages, menu interface or characters being proof that the game was rushed. What are you comparing the amount of stages to in order to say there weren’t enough of them? What else can you possibly add to the menus to make them ‘complete’? Your complaints are based on hindsight and speculation on a game that hasn’t even been announced yet. The game was completed to the best of their abilities and sold as MvC3. Additional content sold is supplementary and complimentary, but don’t forget that patches to correct things are always free.

DLC in the form of additional stages, characters and consumes are akin to aftermarket parts for a car. You buy a car as is, but just because a new set of rims or mufflers comes out, it doesn’t mean your car is all of a sudden broken. You can add to you experience, and you can add if you prefer, but just because additional content is made available, it doesn’t automatically make your purchase or product defunct. Games get sequels, surprise. Anyone who loved third strike, mvc2, cvs2 and st, just to name a few, are all happy with those games due to multiple updates to an initial game. Yeah, they were arcades, and now we’re on consoles, but times change, deal with it.

Hahahaha this is just sad, you sir have no idea what the game industry is like. I think you got the wrong idea entirely on how these games come out.

The first thing to discuss is it being unfinished. This is pretty far from the truth as all the issues coming out are not crashes, here is a big thing to learn, developers want first passes through the 1st party MS/Sony. Crashes and other issues like corrupting the save data are the big bugs. All these issues would be marked as a medium/low grade in any studio and get known shippable. The amount of severe issues in MvC3 against 1st party TRC’s is so low.

These issues are severe to us in the competitive scene, but we are just a sliver of the sales. This leads to them releasing issues like this, and then fixing the ones the scene wants with patches to be efficient on development time. Balancing far outweighs fixing edge case issues, and it’s a hard game to balance as a 3v3 due to variables.

The other idea about “why not include the DLC characters on launch?” is a bit funny too. The likely hood is these were not ready when they went to certify the game (5-7 weeks before release for first party). It is far easier to send them to first party as a DLC certification for content and that gives them an extra month of two to finish them. They also could be using it as extra income like most games do now. The term “day 1 dlc” is used all over the industry now because dlc sells well when the game is new and hyped.

Also the scene comment is a bit inane as you live in LV. While you do have evo, all the large scale scene at evo consists more of Cali/NY/EC than anywhere else. You should move to LA and learn to press buttons well too bra!

I have… no fucking clue what ‘skill’ has to do with this convo and how it got here. This forum pulls out all the stops.

I just cant imagine Capcom having this much available bandwidth internally for this project anytime soon.

And if so, they better not fuc with 3SO scheduling…

Why not? SSf4 is done, only other major fighting project in the works right now is SfxT, 3s is probably being done by a separate group entirely. The Marvel team is still doing their job, as we could tell from the recent patches.
Hope this is dlc and not some $60 disc scam. If it is…I’ll probably end up buying it anyway.

As much as some may be against it, I’m all for it being a MvC4 instead of an enhanced MvC3. Things is, this could conceivably be Capcom repeating history as they did with the first batch of vs. games in the 90s. XvSF in '96, MSHvSF in '97, and MvC in '98. Granted, this is just an observational guess, but who knows…

I don’t know why everyone jumps down Capcom’s throat about this like they are the only developer who do this.

Call of Duty is such a rehashed piece of shit, and yet millions upon millions of retards are quite happy to get their pre-orders in as soon as the trailer drops.

Obviously if Capcom thought they would get backlash and boycott’s from doing this they wouldn’t risk the financial loss. They are confident you are the simple minded weaboo who will continue to complain while still lining up to get his copy on release day, so… suck it?

Stay free to Capcom.

“Children… trying to define the universe they live in!”

I just moved here a year ago and lived in NY and played for 10 years. Come at me bro! Either way I like LV > bumfuck middle of nowhere.

People really need to relax in this thread. So much angst.

You should at least go for the obvious missing features stuff if you’re gonna argue that, the ones you picked are a little questionable.

Hey, step off. Black Ops is legit.

I like it.

hahahaha

Ports are generally handled by a team seperate from the SFIV team and the TvC and MvC team, or at least they were for MvC2 and Final Fight.

The updates they’d throw are patches to the game meaning could happen the same as SSFIV AE that there will be a DLC and a retail disc IMO

DLC but it’s definitely not going to be a super version. What else can they do but give everyone an infinite combo or some shit? Or I guess if they added 4 new characters such as SSF4AE people might buy it, dunno.

Black Ops isn’t quite as big of a clusterfuck as MW2 was, holy shit.

If they only add 4 characters I’m gonna be mega pissed :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t think anyone will be sincerely playing this game next year if MK is a success. The lack of anything substantial at captivate, and the lack of some really central features have pretty much blown both of Marvel’s kneecaps out before it reached its first turn. Street Fighter IV is such a monster series right now, its everywhere its inexpensive, and it keeps getting better and more expansive, even if AE kind of sucks. Although not really, cause even then in a stupid kind of way its even more balanced cause zoning is replaced by footsies and rushdown.

I mean, Super Street Fighter IV should be lauded as one of the best fighting games ever made, because it was incredibly balanced, had a huge roster, and had really good online functionality, short of GGPO status, but still good. MvC3 is a good fighter, and it has that crack MvC2 feel to it, but its falling short like TvC did because of a lack of any real strong lasting content, and the features included with the game aren’t enough to save it.

You’ve got to come hard with TTT2 and SF x T on the way, way harder. The game feels like its been out for more then ten minutes and it launched in February, it loses luster when its so barebone with nothing to find but combos infinities and glitches.

We need hype, MvC is hype to watch and hype to play, but as long as it feels so done and dusted complaints trail upward like voices in the wind until eventually no one else is around to speak them. In this case… probably because they’ll be too busy using Yun, Scorpion, or Terry Bogard.

The only reason sf4 is as huge as it is, is because of the online play and setup.

It’s the perfect setup for growth. If marvels online play was good the game would fair so much better.

And the same goes for any fighter released now. If mk wants to have a lasting effect the netcode is gonna have to work well with the game.

Sf4 didn’t have the best netcode but all things combine it worked pretty well.
