Lupinko says there will be a Super MvC3 [rambling and dreams: enter at your own risk]

And to think five years back, people feared that a dearth of new games would be what killed the scene.

Super irony.

As I see it.

$20 DLC, or $40 - $45 for a disc. I love this game and Ill buy whatever characters they wanna throw in, but F the alt costumes, F any DLC stages because when youre playing you cant notice them anyway, and F a new disc without the upgrade being available as DLC as well. As much as I do enjoy this game, Im not gonna buy another disc.

When are people going to say enough is enough? This along with another $40 SSF4 disc is absolutely fucking ridiculous. Fuck you Capcom. Take your games, shine them up real nice, turn them up sideways and stick them straight up your candy asses.

there are literally homeless people that couldve purchased mvc3 brand new for 60, and then 8-12 months later purchased a 20 dollar dlc. woooow, some super life scrubs complaining as usual. lol. niggas wanna pay 60 dollars for unlimited free dlc content over the course of the games life or something? get real. i mean, just dont buy it, cause im sure balance changes will be free. i didnt purchase jill or shuma and dont want to. it was a very simple decision to just say no, and even as a competitive gamer its not a blow, because forums like this, and vids will provide me with much needed content to stay up on those characters shenanigans.

im sure i have a selective memory here, but almost 7 years here, and since sf4 ive never seen so much complaining in my life. yes it is partially because capcom is dropping shenanigans ass games, but there is also a ton of just, seriously, are you 15, because if so, i understand your faulty logic, but if not, whats wrong with you. i mean, we’ve all busted games balls before and still do, but just seems like there are so many like compassionate complainers these days. im surprised capcomsucks.com hasnt been made yet. i also like how its even just overflowing to other games too, games people really have never had an opinion on too much, but all of a sudden do(mk). games that niggas have never made their main, or played more then a couple casual hours bi weekly(tekken), but are so opinionated to the point you would almost just assume they are vets, people that have loved, hated, and played a specific title for a while now, but thats not the case.

its like, the community is growing, but mentally taking leaps and bounds backwards. its sorta like a bunch of women synching up on their periods on srk, cause now people who probably werent so vocal, are hugely vocal, and some who had an opposing opinion, are like turning into opinionated scrubs now. its amazing, and i myself have my popcorn ready for when 5 years from now, only namco is still making fighting games, and doujin fighters have probably taken over. how many of all these new found members will still be around years from now in one way or another. i like how there are a group of people that watch streams, and have donated a few bucks now and then, will 5 years from now be like, f u scrub, ive contributed to this community, what about you. lol.

Tournament Legacy reimbursted me for my MvC3 copy but I can understand the complaints here.

It seems quite evil and sneaky to release MvC3 that lacks many features that should be in a modern day fighting game (replays, spectator, etc.), and then suddenly provide an upgrade for the game for another bundle of cash.

But games are getting more expensive to make it seems. Can’t really blame them for charging money for DLC costumes, characters, and shadow mode.

If a MvC3 “sequel” exists, I will probably buy it. I’d appreciate it though if they make X-factor less clutch and re-work Phoenix into a more normal character or something.

If only homeless people would buy PS3s/360s with their flashy new TVs in their flashy new apartments to play their MVC3.

They should start coming to tourneys.

Its nice you have the welfare check to depend on in order to buy the game so you don’t have to worry.

Marvel vs Capcom - “hey guys, we can update this game through the internets but what’s the fun in that? We can just release a better version of the game and make you pay for it again” edition.

Well hey, they did it with TvC and it ended up ultimately superior to the original, so why not?

I’m smug either way because I held off buying the game.

YES!

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!

I so hope that this is true! Think we will get an official announcement anytime soon?

They did it with TvC because the previous version never got a domestic release, so this is a different situation. But I’m sure you know that.

8 new characters would be great, fuck frank west though.

Strider hiryu must come back!!!

:rock::rock::rock::rock:

If the super mvc3 will include strider, match replay and other game modes i will guarantee that people will buy it.

i don’t give a fuck who’s in it.

Call me when the roster hits 60.

Yeah they killed two birds with one stone there, but they also took the opportunity to update and ‘fix’ the game. TvC CGOH was really buggy and full of infinites and game breaking glitches. In this case, they don’t need to re-release MVC3 because it’s already been released in both japan and US.

Also, Jimmy, did I just see you complain about passionate complainers?. Every time I see you posting it’s just to write up big wall posts about how Marvel 3 is terrible and the community is scrubby and opinionated and back in the day nobody said anything and such and such. Pot calling the kettle black, much?

I support the new disc release.

$5 for each DLC character isn’t expensive, but it’s overpriced. DLC characters aren’t like map packs, where only people who buy them have to download them; Capcom has to patch it to everybody, Sony and Microsoft charge for that. Players who buy the DLC are also paying for the other players patches.

With a new disc they can release content for a fair price. I expect at least 12 new characters, new stages and all modes (maybe some new modes) on the disc.

I don’t think netcode is going to drastically change, but there are rooms for tweaking (removal of the language option, that just splits matchmaking). And all the DLC release on MvC3 should be kept as DLC exclusive for SMvC3, it’s being fair to people who purchased it.

Some people may think it’s too early, but you got to have in mind this generation of consoles doesn’t have much time left. I’m thinking we’ll hear about PS4 and a new XBOX next year at E3. A Super version coming out only on the next generation (right at the beginning) won’t sell as much.

I highly disagree. The whole point of having a patchable game is so that they don’t have to do another disc re-release. The disc re-release is intended as another option for people who were on the fence about buying the game, and people who don’t go online at all and prefer to get all the updates on disc.

What I’m thinking is that they are going to release new characters/stages over the year, and once they are done with that, then they are going to do a disc re-release with all the characters included for a low price. Lots of modern games have actually done this, not just Capcom. Look at Bethesda, their GOTY packages came w/ all DLC (even though they usually sold it at full price)

edit: Capcom has already utilized this strategy. I forgot that they did Resident Evil 5 and RE5 Gold Edition which had all the DLC on it. If you wanted to, you could still buy the original RE5 and buy all the DLC separately. It ends up costing more than the Gold Edition but if that’s what you wanted to do, you could.

I love how people are complaining that they’re going to bring us more marvel…

Hmm well regardless I have fun with the games, broken or not, so I’d buy it

“You guys are as simple as a flowchart.”

If and when this does get released, I can almost gurantee X Factor’s getting hit with the nerf bat.
