Low health is making the game boring and anti-climatic

Let me get this straight: The money’s there because there are people playing it, and people are playing it because the money is there.

Circular logic much?

It’s okay to admit a game is just popular because people like it (Hell, there are plenty of awful things that are popular, so that doesn’t exclude it from sucking).

EDIT: I just realized this post has nothing to do with low health making the game boring and anti-climactic.

So, um… Low health is kinda sucky if you like building a team around a certain character, since you might not enjoy playing as the teammates as much. I don’t like playing as Dante, but Jam Session is amazing at what it does.

Casuals don’t *care *about sponsorships. Casuals don’t care about tournaments. That’s why they’re called casuals. They play the game *casually. *Why the hell do I need to explain this?

Capcom paying top players to advertise the new games? Well, shit, they must suck at their job then, because they have openly criticized MvC3 multiple times. Hell, even Combo cussed out Capcom for She-Hulk’s nerfs. Great advertising, I know.

What other bullshit conspiracy theory do you have? At this point, you’re just making up shit to further justify your dislike for the game. OK, so you have valid reasons for hating Marvel 3. I have no complaints about that. The damage is retarded. The execution level is low. But bribed players? Really? Fuck, Capcom has pulled off some shady stuff, but that’s going way too far.

I agree that money is a factor, and if they had a choice, tons of top players would probably ditch MvC3. But they do see some merit in it. Money is a factor, but it’s stupid to think that that’s the whole story.

Melee is godlike

Casuals don’t enter tourneys, that’s why they’re called casual players.

or pot monsters

again, why is this a bad thing? you seem to be dead set against any form of growth in the community.

Pot monsters makes me think you’re talking about people who smoke pot. I guess that’s a consequence of living here.

Oh wow. And I thought the abuse of the word “random” was bad.

At least it’s not the opposite of what you actually mean.

There’s baiting. You bait assist, you bait XF cancels, you bait supers, etc.
There’s frame traps.
There’s mixups on knockdown, there’s mixups standing, there’s mixups in the air, there’s mixups when you deliberately drop a combo.
There’s no whiff punishes? Really? When you whiff and assist or a special move, there is rarely an instance of punishing? Or the few people who still blockstring using S and get pushblocked the move before S?

Just because it looks different and 100x faster than SF4 doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist or isn’t apart of it.

so you think you should be rewarded for putting in less time? I don’t even have to say any more after that.

the bolded part is what makes this game random.

Well, less execution mean that the competition occur on the setup the “smart play” so yeah, it’s good, it promote thinking players instead of faulty combo-bots.
More people = more stuff found out = more diversity in game.

Elitism is what make community go extinct :/.

To me, the only frustrating stuff in Mvc3 is the TAC mecanics, this is random pushes that reward too much.

Guy press randomly on S+direction, get 1,5 bar for free + meter gain from combo and does same damage than an advanced BnB.

nothing was going to stop MvC3 from being popular. it had too much going for it

made by capcom, which can do no wrong to some fans
It was the sequel to the best fighting game ever made

MvC3 was pretty much sold on the hype associated with MvC2.

thats what i said with my second line

MvC3 for the money? If you were playing for money, wouldn’t you play SFIV? Has anyone even gotten a sponsorship off of this game specifically? I certainly haven’t heard of one if there is, though we hear of plenty for SFIV and even some for MK.

I was thinking less Capcom and more of the “Mahvel Baybee” hype/drama that came with MvC2 and the last 10 years of it.

that was the main selling point of the first trailer, “AFTER A DECADE OF WAITING!!!” or whatever it screamed. Even people who didnt follow tourneys or knew about Mahvel baybee (btw the sequel is better XD) knew MvC3 as the game that would never happen. It’s easy to think about it now, but there used to be April Fools jokes about MvC3. This game was going to sell simply by existing

As someone who never liked Street Fighter and only heard of the Marvel vs. Capcom with the release of Marvel 3, I can’t say I agree.

I just watched some trailers and was wowed by the pretty effects (Call me a sucker, I guess). Then I played some and liked it because the four button control scheme reminded me of Blazblue (Even though the drive button really is completely different from special).

You need more evidence than a anecdote from a person you’ve probably never even meet to say that.

no it doesn’t. easy high damage = higher random outcome of a match. Random.

i’ve read some stuff on the first page

seems some ppl are hinting that umvc3 is better than ssf4 … good gig …to me at least

not to take away from american players but skill is what fighting games is all about

isn’t that why few of them succeed at ssf4 like wolkfrone or ricky ortiz
while is umvc3 is not much played by the japanese players and is mostly played by americans

why don’t they play ssf4 and show us how good they are?
thats why justin or any1 else good at umvc3 have trouble agains’t asian players when it comes to ss4

even after all what i said its just a matter of opinion …u like ssf4 play it or umvc3 play it
but don’t make ppl think a game is better then the other one
