Playing the campaign alone is not really that fun, even if it’s just 2 people, you need AT LEAST that to have fun with it, and of course having 4 is the greatest. There just isn’t any comparison.
One other problem is that the 360 demo is just the one boss fight, where as the PS3 demo is 2 sections of levels and THEN the boss fight. Gives you a much better feel for the game.
I played the versus and would unload clips into people and then die from a grenade lol shit is retarded.
Yea the versus demo is what I played, I’m not too big on co-ops and single players. I did play the LP2 co-op demo and didnt like it either… took me a while to figure out how to kill that big ass dragon. I was there for like 30 mins trying to kill it  Then I finally figured out how to get on top of it and shoot all the cores on his back.
The co-op demo reminds me a lot of Phantasy Star Online’s boss battles on the DreamCast back in the days, which is good.
Which brings us to this: Why does ANY game not have a CoD/Halo style quick mute from the players list? This one is even worse, no way to bring up player lists/scores mid game, so you can’t even go to their gamercard and mute them that way. So if someone starts acting like a douche mid game, I have no way to mute them? Poor choice, imo.
Other than that, I guess the gameplay in the VS seemed weird to me. Wasn’t what I was used to, seems like the gun you start with isn’t that strong. Which means it’ll devolve into pure map control once people get any inkling of teamwork running.
Digital-: You should play with people. By yourself, the LP2 isn’t worth it. Do you play on the PS3? I could play a couple rounds with you.
KowtowRobinson There’s a way to quickly mute everyone. When you’re in game, you can press select to bring up the menu, then press in both sticks to mute all voice chat. You can also do this before starting a match. After muting, you can press in both sticks again to bring the sound back.
Well the VS is a pretty big feature, but certainly you aren’t required to use them and in the full game there will be an option to turn VS off or even increase the amount on the map if you want. As for weapons, there’s a ton, and it seems that every weapon will have a type II and type SP version as well so yeah.
I played the demo a bit on my 360 and I really hate the turrets on the map. They seem really hard to kill even compared to a VS. With a VS you can just grapple onto them and hold x while you unload until you flip off. Makes you feel bad ass and it does good damage.
Also I would like to say Injection gun >>>> shield. I at first tried the shield and I basically tanked a VS by holding it up and walking away. But you really can’t hurt anything with it up. But Injection gun with the defensive shot gives you 3x defense making you the equivalent of a walking VS. Honestly I used the gun on myself more than my teammates but fuck them anyways, people trying to throw grenades when being fired upon killing both of us :nono:.
And the spawns in deathmatch are really funky. I spawned directly next to a guy but luckily managed to smack him into stun before he got me.
Yeah best way to destroy the turrets is with the VS actually, or at least the rocket launcher.
Injection is fantastic in any mode, but the Shield is AMAZING for post grab, or any team mode I’m sure. In the case of this demo, the turret that holds down that one post in it’s direct line of fire is pretty much unstoppable there, but if you have one person with a shield, you can have a few people walk behind him and then activate the post with absolutely no danger to themselves.
Oh, also, when you are holding the shield up you can press the melee button to do a ram attack with the shield.
Wait hold up you can melee with shield? Man that would have been useful because a VS was basically dry humping my shield one time. But yea that one post in that grassy area in between the turret and the building with a post in it is hard to get if people man the turret. I could see the shield being perfect there, since even grenade lobbing doesn’t always work because some random dude can just shoot it out of the air. I hope the full game comes with multiple customizable loadouts sort of how Call of Duty does so I can work switch between gear depending on how the match goes.
Yeah, most of the reviews I’ve read have placed this game in the 6 range. The biggest issue seems to the be the moronic AI teammates coupled with scenarios where you need 4 players.
that review sounds pretty bad, it basically says “this game isnt fun”. i dunno how much of that is “waaah this game is hard it sucks” and how much is “this game makes really bad design choices”. a lot of games i liked have had bad reviews though so maybe ill go check out the demo in between sessions of super bad fighter 4.
I have a feeling i might pick this up. The first one wasn’t really noob friendly either, mostly because of things like having hitstun for most attacks and the controls being very different than other console shooters. When I get this though I expect to play with people not AI. I don’t think I ever liked playing with AI in other games like Left 4 Dead or RE5. So I assume his complaint with the AI is the equivalent with playing AI sheva or 3 AIs in Left 4 Dead.
Having a loot system sounds pretty cool though where you can use it to buy stuff. I liked killing things for loot in borderlands so I don’t think I would mind here. Though the system sounds like the gachapon system in DFO, except it doesn’t cost 2.50 a pop.
