OK, now it’s my turn to vent even though I’ve already calmed down a little.
Fuck, today I must have played around +20 matches, but won only 2. At least 10 or so of those players were flat out better. While I am somewhat angry over the losses, these players exposed just how ignorant I am of this game. Luckily, the remedy to this problem is simple: more studying of the match-ups and more practice.
No, the reason I’m so fucking salty is because the other half of my matches were lost due to poor decision making. For the most part, I wasn’t getting hit with anything new, but for some reason, I couldn’t defend correctly and my pattern recognition was so slow. Other times, I ran in recklessly like a newbie who still hasn’t figured out how to cover space safely. Worse still, I took really bad gambles when I shouldn’t have (trying to pressure an opponent hard when he had full meter, ultra and absolutely nothing to lose by mashing). Last, and perhaps most egregious of all (to me), I continued to play when I KNEW my head wasn’t clear and the anger was ruling my judgement…I thought if I just kept playing everything would turn around. Not so. Gotta follow my own advice and put it down for a little bit. Come back with a fresh mind.
This is one of those nights where I hate the California scene for being so strong…
But that feeling will pass in another hour.
Peace
Tried some Endless matches over the weekend. Got my opponent into blocking mode. Karakusa’d opponent TWICE in one round, with victory set if I got the Ultra1 to hit. Do the motion … Fukiage comes out instead of Ultra1 … BOTH TIMES. Lost match.
I wish there was a way to turn off input leniency on my end, there was never any time in SSF2THDR where I got a dragon punch instead of a super when I did the super motion, never. I’d rather have nothing come out if it leaves my opponent with a free combo as Makoto shakes her fist in the air.
Also, Gen’s non-EX Hyakurenko (fast hands) beats out **EX-**Hayate? Sigh.
Final round. Both players at 20% health. Got him in a Karakusa, input Ultra 1.
Lag.
Timing is off, Ultra 1 comes out late. He blocks. He wins.
Last night when I was playing a match, I stopped being able to dash to the right side during the match. Haven’t opened up my stick yet to see what was wrong, but I hope it’s just a loose cable…
grrrrrr
Ex-Hayate doesn’t have any kind if invulnerability. It’s just really fast and travels a long distance. "Geifs have SPD’ed me out of it. Just another reminder that you can’t play sloppy with Makoto.
LOL, that happened to me a while back. I first realized it when I dashed against a cornered Juri, but nothing came out and I sort of just … stood there waiting to see the dash, and XBL Juri did EX dive kick -> U2, of course.
Playing Mindgames with Makoto and guessing when you are in lower regions of PP/BP is almost impossible.
I just started playing online though and went from 1000PP to 400 PP, but my Makoto got her hard earned first 1000BP now.
I will rage like a madman when i am eating one more random ultra, mashed dp etc
Giving people absolutely no credit tends to work at low PP. I know you’re going to mash out that DP and you don’t know how good my dashing is because terrible people never realize that about Makoto.
I played a Guile and a T.Hawk back to back. I really just have no clue what to do with T.Hawk. At my level Guile’s will leave themselves open sometimes but with T.Hawk I just don’t know how to get in without getting grabbed.
Welcome to the circus…Anything to complain about yet?
try backdashing. Always scout to see what kind of Hawk he is…the kind that’s going to DO SOMETHING on wakeup and condor dive all the time? should be easy to beat…bait and punish
Fucking crouch teching ass bisons and kids who mash away my health before I can teach them not too
[preliminary bitching]
Ok i’m bitching beforehand. Alright goddamit, i’m going to play ranked matches again.
What the fuck.
I know that there’s going to be more SRK Mashing, Wake up ultraing, Throw Mashing, Jab mashing, turbo using, blankas, ryus, kens, and whatever, but i’m going to do it. Fuck it.
[/preliminary Bitching]
Tomorrow will be the end of my 2 months of “not” playing ranked matches. OMG.
Also, I know i’m going to lose A LOT of games that I should win. Yeah i’ll win a few that I shouldn’t but don’t count on it. I’ve got to find a way to make this experience count some how.
EDIT - I know!! I’m only going to post LOSSES. yeah. I’ll just post the loss and ask you guys “WHY DID I LOSE THIS GAME.” Then, instead of continueing to play (unless i’m hot and i just got edged out and I still want to continue) I’ll go and practice on it for awhile. Then i’ll come back, and try not to make the same mistake again. In fact. I’m not going to stop until I reach B+. No more casuals for awhile guys. I’ll be out of commission.
Ok that’s probably not true but whatever. I’m feeling streetfighterly suicidal right now. Didn’t that just blow your mind.
Now i’m going to go lose all of my BP to Ken. byebye.
Those are the exact reasons you SHOULD be playing Ranked. I’m a firm believer that understanding how to deal with randomness makes you a better player. In nature, it’s not the smartest who survive, it’s those that can adapt the fastest. Essentially, it’s a skill you’re going to need for tournies. Just stay away from those idiots that set the match to 1 round. It’s obvious those fuckers are trying to grind achievements.
This is true

[rant=T. Hawk]
I lost to a fucking scrub T. Hawk today, 100% because I get quite scared to AA him from certain key ranges, namely just outside s.MP range. When I let a dude with a 1-frame grab Ultra and 2-frame SPD jump in for free, shit gets stupid, fast. The absolute worst part is he knew no combos … just random hits of heavies and SPD. I also momentarily forgot to do jb.HP if starting pressure instead of neutral jumping when near him. I got greedy, and got DP’d twice for that.
Oh gods of AE, WTF do I have to do to prevent T. Hawk from jumping? Kara-HP Fukiage from far out, HP Fukiage from closer, LP Fukiage up close? Fukiage every time!? The worst part about Hawk is that scrubs tap into so much of his potential to beat Makoto simply by being willing to jump and just do random hits all day up close.
I’ve fought and beaten 4,000 PP Giefs. I’ve fought and lost to sub-1,000 PP Hawks. Fuck T. Hawk, I’ll take Zangief any day of the week, at least until I solve this AA problem of mine against him.
[/rant rant rant rant]
Alright, I’ve trained the last 10 minutes straight on AAing with HP Fukiage against T. Hawk. May I never let a scrub T. Hawk walk all over me again.
Oh lordy, if you’ll just grant me this one request, let those Free Hawks go!!!
Im totally with you on this- I’ll take Zangief over Hawk any day
Oh Yeah : (…
Im sick and tired of Desk coming up with all these infinites and glitches for people to abuse (no I’m just kidding, wish he would come up with one for Mak though)
Hello.
I’m a new forum user.
I just liked to share my pain.
I play on PC and yesterday was a painfull day for me. 20 (or so) games 1 win.
I lost 6 times on a row (in endeless) against a lazy zangief who just stood there, holding back+down, and doing the “arms spin” lariat motion whenver i jump to him.
I feel embarrased
