Wtf. And I hate how fukiage is too slow. All of Makoto’s moves only work is the person is read, predicted, or guessed. When someone is putting pressure on me with some combos, I feel that there is nothing I can do. Ugh… I guess i have to be patient. This is so frustrating. I can’t ever get in without getting anti-aired or DP’d. >.> <.< what do you guys do with you face a fireball character?

Well if you think your opponent is going to be pressing buttons on your wakeup EX Karakusa can be enough to make them think twice about that (plus will actually blow right through many safe jump setups). Of course, this is a HUGE risk for Makoto, but that’s the name of the game if you’re gonna be playing Makoto. High risk, high reward.

Whilst SF4 essentially boils down to a coin flip on every wakeup. I think that harder characters to play can usually yield a tradeoff if you have below average fundamentals. Viper and SJC Nonsense, Gen and his stupidly hard execution but also has trillions of shenanigans, and Makoto and her movement + Pretty much everything.

ANYWAY.

What can I do? Really? Downback all day son, I can’t jump, can’t approach, can’t do shit. There is nothing worse for me than being fullscreen away from a Honda with 2+ Bars. It’s my worst nightmare.

I need help defeating Balrog… his jabs are so immortal, and keeping distance is even worse. Definitely my worst matcup, next to Cammy and Guy.

Ffs I hate trying to fight dudley. He’s gotta be one of the few characters who doesnt have to respect our wall of normals. Then there’s the fact he can anti-air easily and has a 3 frame uppercut(thanks 2012 :s) safe jumps become useless eventually. His backdash is great for that too. Then comes his pressure. He’s got the easiest pressure against makoto as long as the players smart. I hate him do much.

Balrogs easier cause you can beat him by standing there and pressing mp. It’s dudley who just walks up and squats in makotos face. Even if it trades it’s even at best. I’m still super salty. I wanted to learn the match up so I asked one of my friends(who’s a 3kpp/12kbp dudley) to do an endless session. Over 20 games and I still couldn’t find a safe distance to buffer c.mp. Maybe I’ll treat it like gen and use hk more but it’s just ridiculous.

DUDLEYYYYYYY!!! Rrrrrr. It might just be a personal barrier I have but seriously… I didn’t think makoto had that many bad match ups but damn. He just runs over makoto.

I always thought the Dudley match was 6-4 Makoto’s favour. That said, I have been chewed up and spat out by good Dudley’s before.

lol that’s wat I thought 2. Now I think it might be the other way around after playing these really good duds. His normals can beat ours. Really good pressure against her. Great options on both his and makoto’s wake ups. I just feel overwhelmed.

other than his st fierce what other normals beat makoto’s?

thats it really, the rest of makoto ground game should be trying to get in with dash or f.mp (good priority)

His cr.lp/cr.mp don’t have hurt boxes until about his elbow and the cr.mp hit box is from his shoulder to the tip of his glove. That alone destroys any ground chance if they so decide to and hp/f.hp just make the situation worse. In comparison I guess his cr.lp is like our cr.mp. His cr.mp has almost double the reach.

Grrrr! why can’t i do instant air kicks (i forget the name of the move) it just jumps and medium kicks, ive been using makoto for 3 months and im just not getting any better with them. I am using a square gate on my MCZ round 2 stick is this the problem?
