Just got AE.

I love Ibuki’s crouching roundhouse :smiley:

It’s a 3D fighter, but unlike Tekken/DoA it’s really (very) technically above them. Definitely the most advanced fighting game there is.

Basically Virtua Fighter decides whether you like fighting games, or if you like Street Fighter. A bit of an exaggeration (I guess).
In terms of execution it has the potential to allow something very ridiculous (crazy defensive option-selects), but you can just learn the command-list and play fine. Unlike Street Fighter you’re not dead if you don’t have amazing execution.

Also, you don’t really have bad match-ups. Every character has an answer for nearly every situation. In fact, the best characters aren’t the ones with the most options (Yun).

Well, whenever it comes out on consoles, you better teach me how to play it.

I was doing Ibuki’s Trials in 3SOE and I have a problem with Trial #3.

C.HK > HK > B+MP > HP > Kaze

The HP isn’t coming out, does anyone know what I could be doing wrong?

Wrong thread but, you’re doing the Ageman too early. Do it close to when your opponent hits the ground.

My Makoto is tearing up the new 3S:O players, Arcade mode is more interesting, and for that I have my Dreamcast.

The reason to buy 3S:O? Playing with friends who have a reason not to use GGPO.

• Bonsho Kick (Toward + Hard Kick) is now +1 on hit, -3 on block and +5 on counter-hit.

• Hammer Kick (Toward + Kick) startup time reduced by one frame.

• Iffy translation: Tsujigoe (Command Jump) had its airborne properties on startup altered.

• Yoroi Toshi’s (Ultra 1) fireball release after a whiffed grab will now combo into full hits on an airborne opponent.

• Yoroi Toshi’s fireball will also fully connect against a backdashing opponent.

• Iffy translation: Ibuki’s Ultra 2 has been altered so that it juggles airborne opponents. The blog had a hard time explaining this one, but basically after a Level 2 Focus Attack, and allowing the opponent to crumple, all hits of Ultra 2 will still land.

None of that is any good. Unless you can kunai faster from her flip shit then it just seems like they pushed ibuki to the side.

Bansho Kick buff is a good buff imo. The better hitbox alone will be great. Now even safer, even better. I’m not too sure yet how big of a difference 1f will make on her F+mk though, but faster is always better.

As for her command jump… I don’t know if I’ll ever use it, still.

Man, one of my friends thought bansho kick was her slide and was telling me how it got buffed and shit. I was gonna go bananas, but he was wrong. lol. Still gonna have to space it accordingly.

Better hitbox?

Ibuki got nothing good… again…Nothing on the tc4 hitbox and her walk speed remains ass.They increased cody’s but not hers.Damn it
She can get the full shitty damage ultra 1’s orb if the opponent jumps or backdashes…lol

And why are they keep buffing her command jump.Is there sth gdlk about it that we don’t know yet?

It can be used as an anti air, I’m guessing like Cammy’s. And Bansho kick will be a huge buff to her footsies especially since we will be able to combo off of it, Think of it as a crouch tech bait.

I think that it means they can’t get resetted out of it now. Sometimes when I punish blocked Blanka Ultra 1, I do it too early (before Blanka hits the ground) and he flips out. Or like when you use U2 to punish EX Psycho Crusher, if you do it too fast they fall out.

bansho kick is a buff, the u1 hitting all the hits is a buff (dmg is dmg).

Okay now, these are definitely not final changes. Some characters got incredible buffs. Ibuki’s new f.HK will combo into st.MK on counter-hit, or every-time st.LP, that’s a little bit cool.

Ibuki’s U2 buff will allow her to OS many characters now, and use it immediately if she spots a focus. But OS is a bad mechanic so whatever. Still, some changes like Yang and Makoto’s nerfs, and especially Evil Ryu’s buffs should be rebalanced during the location tests.

Guy, Cody, Gouken have become very good characters, including Juri. Nerfs are really too large for the buffs they’ve given. It’s like they went to character forums and gave everyone their wishes (which is cool).

U1 will do around 236 damage as an anti-air, but I doubt it will cause an untechable knockdown like it used it.

will the earlier cancel on a SJ make it easier to pull of SJC ultra 2 then? thats pretty nice for me i have a lot of trouble with the timing doing lp>mp>hp SJC ultra 2.
