Looking for Love: Ibuki General Discussion Thread

I’ll take 3f cr.lp over getting mauled by Yun all day. I don’t think mashing jab is scrubby, it’s genius. Genius because it’s very effective. High level players like Momochi use it a lot. Plus it’s the most reliable way to counter divekicks from the ground and Ibuki really needs that. Unfortunately, I still have EX Kazegiri still trade with some jumpins including divekicks.

I want to know something guys, are we completly sure that we couldn’t double loop Dudley before? becuase I hit training and doing some random things I found that wherever xx LK tsumuji st.LP st.MK xx LK Tsumuji st.LP st.MK neck breaker comboes,oh and also,the last MK hits meaty,but I couldnt find any good use for it

Just tried and couldn’t. The 2nd jab won’t reach him. Did you check which Ibuki version you were using when doing the combo?

It was the Ultra version for both,but I don’t see any pushback,better LP hitbos change in the ultra version,that’s why I ask it

I think the reason is because of the tsumuji hitbox “buff” we got that affects the reeling animation. Hence why you can loop T. Hawk from st.mk, do double loop on Dudley, and Guy cannot be looped unless you use backhand punch. I think her st.lp hitbox still remain the same as it was before.

What’s with Ibuki players saying she’s trash in this version and they have 0 DWU setups?

How many times must I throw someone who does a kunai before DWU and then they complain?

If you only do a throw to punish whiffed kunai… you’re doing it wrong.

geez he plays bison. cr.LK cr.LK cr.LK into LK scissors (MK scissors are unsafe if he drops it) does the same damage as throws

Got a kunai setup from EX neckbreaker that covers both normal and delayed wakup.

If they’re playing like that I can win the whole game just throwing with Ken. I was throwing each time to make a point, but obviously they didn’t see it. Getting thrown out of the same setup 6 times doesn’t say something?

Hi, I’m new here, I was wondering if someone have noticed that Ibuki looks bad when she wins a match in her new outfit? (her teeth). I think that it needs to be fixed, I find it very annoying =/ (sorry for any grammar mistake).

yeah her teeth are visibly clipping on her lower lip (maybe she’s biting it? Naah). I personally dont like that alt even a little but hey welcome!

Hi everyone, I have a question here (I first posted this in the Q&A Thread, but I moved it here thinking this would be a more appropriate section – maybe, redirect me if I’m wrong).

So it’s been a long time since I last played Ibuki and I wanted to go back to her (I never considered dropping her, but I explored with a bunch of other characters). So I went over all of her attacks many times, as a reminder, and trying to figure out some new tactics and counter hit setups and optimized combos out of them.
Doing so, I discovered that several of her normals and command normals don’t stick to the rules of counter hit, to attribute 1 bonus frame of hitstun to light attacks and 3 to other attacks. So I did some testing.

Here’s what I came up with: Ibuki Counter Hit Inconsistencies
If someone can help out by recording some footage of it, or just confirming this with some tool assistance, I would really appreciate it (I can’t record footage, my PC barely manges to run the game at consistent 60 FPS).

My question is: Does anyone know about this? Is this intentional from Capcom, knowing that some of these might be overpowered if they would follow the rule? Or is it just some random errors from their part? If this was actually and error, do you think it can be fixed before the next patch?

Changes for Ibuki in upcoming balance patch:

  • Backhand Punch (far from opponent HP → HP) bug, where the move could be canceled on whiff, fixed.
  • Yoroitoshi bug, where on non-cinematic air-hit Delay Stand was not possible, fixed.
