It doesn’t work because you can’t RFC, only SJC RF, and it says you need to use the 3 bars in a cancel to get lv1 focus crumple
Lol thought you can cheat the system like the meterless FA trick and use 2 bars instead of 3. That’d be gdlk.
I’m new to Ibuki and I would love to learn her overheads etc
Her overheads are f+mk and reverse dp kick.
I actually don’t understand your…statement.
Check this thread. It’s nifty. Ibuki Player Guide (book)
Not sure if this is new to Ultra or always had been the case, but Corbyn’s Ibuki whiff punishing an ex condor dive with st.mk, into tsumuji loop:
Previously, I thought Timothy Hawk wasn’t loopable, despite his grappleresque hurtbox.
Yeah I did this yesterday, you can do it from nj.MK too, which is good because that means you can punish SPD with a loop.
Had a quick set with RJH TX right before dinner, best of 3 games.
It war literally a mirror match in that I felt as if I was playing myself, only his execution was much better.
Anyone toyed around with the upload to YouTube feature yet?
I tried to for our first game, but after recording the match at regular speed, it looped back through the replay, but it was super slow and choppy–is this normal?
I have mine set to record in low quality.
Was a fun match
As far as youtube, it does a regular replay then a slow version. When the slow version is completed then it will show you the upload progress. I use low quality. High quality seems to take a very long time.
What’s interesting is that watching via show motion helped me to spot some of your tech that I missed in match. For example, I just realized that you low profiled my corner kunai “setup” with a cr.lk–genius!
Quality isn’t the greatest, but still fun to watch nonetheless.
Our opening kara tsumujis in game 1 remind me of the closing scene to the new Karate Kid, where Jaden Smith gets his opponent to mimic his movements with his yomi lol!

Feel free to critique. Not my best by any means, but probably the most solid that I’ve played since ultra dropped, feel and read-wise, at least for me.
GGs!
So I’ve been looking through these forums for months and I really want to incorporate some of this stuff into my play. But no matter how much I practice in training mode, I can never hit the combos in an actual match. I’m not sure how to fix this because I feel like I should practice more, but I also feel like I should play more games so I feel more comfortable trying to go for combos In an actual match. Any advice?
And I’d love to get some games in with you guys. GT is Dasblackman. I’m really not that good, but I don’t give up or get discouraged by losing, it’s all about learning and I really want to become a threat one day.

If you have Xbox360 we can do run ultra and try the online training room if your up for it.
Thanks man, I’ll message you when I get on
Just popped in to say the online training feature is really awesome imo. It’s a shame i don’t see many people using this

Got the game with the steam sale a few weeks ago, it’s my first SF since SFII but I’m enjoying the ride so far. Before I go into mayor “indept” with ibuki in AE I wonder if there’s something that drastically changed her in ultra. I heard something about soft knockback on her neckbreaker, how does that change her playstile? Her vortex doesn’t work anymore?
I’m enjoying her playstile but I don’t want to learn things that I won’t use the next month(when ultra hits PC). I’ve read about a couple buff or her normals, does that open new combos routes?
Neckbreaker is still hard knockdown. Her vortex is still there but a bit different because of delayed wakeup.
Cr.lp buff gives more tsumuji loops especially on crouching characters. It also gives her a better defense against high divekicks that are unsafe as she has something mashable for easier punish. Eg. Yun’s divekick is at worst -3 when hit on Ibuki’s head. You can punish that with TC4, but it’s a tight timing and you can’t mash it because cl.lp to far st.lp is 1f link. With the new 3f cr.lp you can punish easier.

The videos a couple posts above show some gameplay from ultra. Neckbreaker is still a hard knockdown.

Here are some recent matches of me. Can you guys give me some feedback on them?
[/quote]So many videos haha. Anyway I would rather Ibuki players post this stuff in the Critique thread instead of the general discussion, but I will start off here.
I will post the critique in spoilers:
Video 1
[details=Spoiler]Starting off you opened the round in a great way, you waited until Rolento had an opening and you exploited it. I especially like that you dropped your combo and went for a throw, and I would have done the same in AE, but becare that in Ultra it is almost impossble to react to DWU and perform a meaty Kunai.
1:20 – great anti-air, but the setup you did makes no sense. You gave up from doing more damage/stun to instead go for a mixup, but instead of a meaty Kunai you went for a jump in with j.LK. Remember that j.LK doesn’t allow you to have a true blockstring, so it makes no sense to give up so much advantage for this setup in this situation. Use j.MK instead.
1:25 – Very nice combo after the overhead.
2:00 – Why did you do a Tsumuji here? Looking ar your health one jump in or full combo would have had you dead. You already had super so there is no reason to build meter.[/details]
Video 2
[details=Spoiler]This is an unfortunately opening in my opinion. The distance you are giving to Vega at this point shows your fear of him. It is true you can’t compete with his footsies, but this is where you gave him confidence. You can see that in the second round he considers to stay put on the other side and wait for you
I could break this match down and show you what mixups you could have done instead, but I think you lost this match by refusing to play your best. You didn’t feel any confidence to jump, focus, dash, tick-throw or anything. The Vega play knew this.
When something like this happens you can change up and become more agressive in the second game as he isn’t expecting you to do anything rash. I have experienced this when playing against your Ibuki. Sure Vega can always react to every option you have, but the player himself cannot.[/details]
Video 3
[details=Spoiler]0:20 – nice block.
I would say that you should try going underneath burn kicks with cr.MK, but it looks like you know that. You lost this match due to a mixture of bad luck and the wrong decisions. This is a hard match-up and you need to capitalise on every opportunity you are given. You’ll do better to simply play against C.Viper more.
[/details]
Video 4
[details=Spoiler]0:20 – honestly, why did you slide here? Is there anything in the game Hugo could have done that would have gotten you more than a small hit?
0:30 – haha, that sucks.
0:36 – hahaha.
0:43 – I don’t know if you learnt this from the Ibuki Player Guide or not, but I don’t believe this meaty works against Hugo. I think his wakeup is slightly different from Zangief and he may be able to throw you out of this. Otherwise I still do the same, but we should test this.
1:00 – this is not supposed to be a praise post, but I really like that you walk back instead of dashing.
1:10 – this is a missed opportunity. You obviously didn’t throw a Kunai because you were adjusting, but you didn’t think far enough as to what sort of punish you would do. Go into Training and find an option select for this and adjust your Kunai Vortex so that he doesn’t throw you out of it. You knew what he was going to do, but not what to do about it.
I like that you adjusted your timing mid-game for the overhead.
1:32 – I have to ask, why are you always going for MK Tsumuji? It doesn’t do as much damage as Neckbreaker.
1:41 – As if you fell asleep, you chose to not spend any meter and instead not kill him for a knockdown. Then you go into a very risky j.LK for no blockstring, and then you refuse to punish Hugo or at the very least jump back and chip him out with the Super. Thankfully he wasn’t able to make a comeback, but try to maximise damage whenever you can.[/details]
Video 5
[details=Spoiler]Nothing really to say for the first round, your opponent was an idiot.
1:05 – it works against this guy, but you are hitconfirming into a weaker knockdown and you’re not considering DWU at all. That Chun-Li player could have punished you in many ways.
Our AE mixup for Chun-Li was Tsumuji/Neckbreaker -> f.LK -> j.HP/j.LK depending on distance. If you see the Technical you can throw a Kunai, but I haven’t tested if she can EX SBK if she uses DWU yet. Either way you never want to get hit by EX SBK as it gives Chun-Li the perfect distance. She has to charge downwards so she tends to be free to overheads, but you have to watch out for them reacting to it.[/details]
Summary
[details=Spoiler]Overall, you didn’t post many videos which showed you losing, so I can’t point out anything to you as if I played the same opponents it would probably be a very similar replay. Either way it is clear that many of these opponents could use DWU to shut you down, and I am sure you would have adjusted, but you can take the extra step to learn thee set-ups prior to playing more matches.
I also say you NEVER jump in an of those games. It is hard for me to say this is a bad thing based on the videos you posted, but having played you I know that the main reason why is because you always assume your opponent can punish everything. You will learn fast if you play this way against opponents you could auto-pilot on, but what you won’t get exprience with is what to do when they successfully pressure you and block your overheads. Show more game against better players when you have the chance.[/details]
