I’ve been having some trouble against poison; but I think it’s mainly because I don’t know all the max punishes against her, or most of the general punishes (her unsafe moves and best way to punish). Her QCB + kick move where she does a little jump kick has some good advantage when blocked. Focusing is impossible- its breaks focus. However, I did see that she has a little gap below before she finishes the move.
Her fireball is (for myself) hard to react with ex neckbreaker and it recovers nearly the same as guile.
I’ll probably write a small section later to cover punishes and whatnot. Time to hit the lab.
It’s not the sort of matchup where you use EX Neckbreaker, so far Poison hasn’t been anywhere near of an issue as Elena has been. One thing about Poison is that her Reversal is pretty terrible that never really does full damage. I will check my replays later this week if I have any against her.
Ended up playing a LOT of great players yesterday. One person I couldn’t get in one win was the current number 1 Dudley. There seems to be a lot of guy players recently which is strange.

Speaking of which, I ran into suwutwinkle who is thinking about giving up on Ibuki. I have heard that so often it’s a shame.

Seeing as it’s now harder to counter poke dudley with cr.mp cause of his buffs to his HP could we score a crumple with red focus?
Also El feurte EX Q bomb buff which now is hella invincible, can be punished on block with;

I only mention cause we have an elf at our weekly tournament and no one seems to punish it, plus cause of the buff he fishes real hard for it due to the CH damage he gets from it.
Lmao, decides to go home during my break to get done revenge on a C.Viper player. Really got to my head. Now I might end up late back to work…
Anyway I am pretty certain that for at least half of the cast I am able to Vortex whether they DWU or not. I expect you guys to figure the setups up on your own, but you don’t need to be putting all of your faith in frame perfect setups where you react to the technical message with a whiff.
As for Poison, I didn’t find any matches in my battle log worth sharing. A fast track method might be to actually use the characters you have issues with.
Anyway C.Viper, Yun, El Fuerte and Guy are way too popular in this game. I hate all of them.

It’s only his f.hp that got the hitbox buff. I played a little bit of Dudley and heard from other players that the buff still hasn’t fix Dudley’s issue with low pokes, but I don’t know about Ibuki’s cr.mp. It still have a slow startup so you can still stuff it if you see it coming, or just stay out of f.hp range and use st.mk instead to counter poke. You can also crumple f.hp with focus attack already, no need for Red Focus.
So I was able to loop Guy. You can do it from the back hp. It seems to work at most distances both punches hit (max distance doesn’t work). So that should be the go to punish.
I’ve never had problem counter poking dudley with cr.mp before and was getting CH for days when I was playing online last, plus I tried normal focus and was only ever able to get a level 1 on him for slight damage.
Just thought red focus crumpled on level 1.
Maybe I’m not holding it for long enough, man I wish I had more time to hit the lab.
Focus at that range should get you blown up anyway, Dudley can just wait for your backdash and punish. But I agree, cr.MP doesn’t seem to be as good as it used to.
is it just me or the Zangief matchup became harder especially the green hand it’s so fast i can’t react when it whiffs in front of me i eat an spd or ultra.
i used to use hien somtimes against him when he is walking forward but with the green hand he can get to you before you land.
do you have anything new can help against him? if i get a knockdown i try to safe jump if he delay wake up it’s over
I just had a BUNCH of GGs with WolfKrone’s Poison. Her DP is ass, but I really have the DWU stuff down. I think Ibuki’s Vortex is more powerful because opponents confuse themselves a bit more. I will save but I don’t know if I have time to upload.

What was the final score? Did you find the matchup to be difficult at all, because I feel as if that matchup is in Poison’s favor in that a lot of her options beat out or cover Ibuki’s.

It’s funny because 6 months ago, my assumption was that with delayed wake up, Ibuki players would have to “think” more and not be as brain-dead and simply autopilot their okizeme.
And while I think that in spirit this is true, Ibuki players are still being rewarded for a hard knock down and instead it’s the downed opponent that must do the guessing, and in my opinion, rightfully so. Its just not as cheap right at the moment because we don’t have any real unblockable setups covering both situations…yet
In general however, with all Ibuki’s other buffs, she really seems stronger in Ultra than in AE2012, which is crazy because I genuinely thought she was top 10 to begin with.
Lol, we do have unblockables for both DWU and not. Especially in the Vega matchup.
I disagree that she moved up the tier list. She is better, but you have to remember she isn’t in AE 2012 anymore, the new characters and system changes pushes Ibuki down the list slightly imo.
The final score was 4-3 (To Krone, the first two games I got slaughtered).
I think this matchup is like an easier version of Deejay. She has good mixups but she can’t hold pressure. As I mentioned, her DP is terrible and imo it needs buffing. It should not do 10 or so damage when Krone DPs my overhead.
Man, I have played WHITE GUN v2 and suwutwinkle, and it seems both of them want to give up on Ibuki. WHITE GUN’s new main is Yun it seems. We played a bunch of mirrors and his execution is awesome, but DWU really requires Ibuki players to take a step back and think about it. I got him with a bunch of unblockables so he might have learnt them.
I have to wait for the PC version before I can write the guide (which is after EVO) but seriously, understanding what DWU is makes finding new setups easy.
