I don’t think consoles are the problem. Have you looked on to how much your monitor lags? If you had a really hard time adjusting its because you maybe had to play with no input lag, compared to how you usually play. From what I’ve noticed xbox is the fastest, pc is 1 frame laggy, and ps3 is 1-2 frame laggy.
The only huge differences between any of them is lag online.
idk the statistics of the monitor(it’s a 24" asus) i’ve been using with pc, but i’m fairly confident it was faster than the xboxes. my moves were coming out faster than playing on xbox. my muscle memory would be hitting jab in my loops well before the lk tsu’s were finished and nothing would come out. as well as st.mks well before the st.mps were finished(because the first moves started later than i was used to). it was much similar to the speed of my ps3 and 32" samsung. which is why i have switched back for now…
im 120% sure its your monitor. on lagless tv you have to hit it on the same frame ibuki stops spinning. i play ssf4 on pc and xbox and ps3, and i can tell you that the lag between them is unnoticeable really. even for 1 frame loops, which is why you can still hold tournaments like evo on ps3. it takes me like 3 mins to adjust to ps3 simply delaying my jab on loops a bit.
If you feel like you have to delay your combos (hitting jabs before tsumuji ends) to get them to link means you have moved on to a faster monitor. I should know, I had that problem for a while.
maybe i’ll try hooking my ps3 up to my computer monitor, see if it’s any different. though my monitor is similar to the ones at the tourney. (switched to pc with my asus monitor, i thought it was faster because of the monitor, so that’s what i got used to…but the timing with the tourney set ups(monitors and xboxes) were still closer to my ps3 on the 32" tv. that’s kinda the overall of my situation)
Not really. I usually use tc10 into Tsumuji to slap people out of focuses. Against red focus id do the same except this time cancel into raida, or jump away after the tc10. Even if it’s not a straight up punish, they just wasted 2 meters.
The level 2 unblockable is the scary part. Not sure if you have time to even fully recover after having the whole TC10 absorbed even if you want to jump cancel to get away.
I think level 2 unblockable is a ton of bullshit. It will be TOO strong and will shift the tiers to characters like Fei, Gen, Sakura, Seth, ect.
ComboFiend did say that they were still deciding on its properties so we will see what will happens. Because things like lunge punch into redfocus level 2 sounds nasty.
If that is the case then the best solution is to just backdash on reaction. Unless you are fighting characters like Seth that will chase you down you should be fine.
Agree on the level 2 unblockable being too absurd. I have a Fei Long friend who completely disregarded his planned nerfs when he heard about red focus. Fei Long’s focus is very hard to react to that you just end up blocking it.
Man this forum seems so slow recently. I just got AE on PC, was wondering if any of the regulars here would be willing to play me for some exp. Anyone with a good sub would be perfect, but I guess we can do the mirror too, along with any other matches I might be able to help you with
I play Ibuki and Abel, dabble with Sakura and I’m currently working on Yang. Let me know if and when you can (if any of you can).
I don’t play online anymore, but will if anyone asks and if my time will allow it. If you have Steam, message me there and if not… umm idk.
My Steam: cowocupu
GFWL: M00n_Tiger
Hey guys, thanks for the responses. Sorry I took like a day to get back to you. Let’s play this weekend if you’re available? Either Friday around 12pm or Saturday around 9-10pm. I’m Toronto based, so that’s EST if it makes a big difference.
Steam: thepolymath
GFWL: tumoralnickel12 (Or something like that, I never bothered to change it after I got it off Amazon)
I’ll add you both on steam and message you there later this week. Thanks again.
I would honestly like to see some gameplay footage of all of this. If Ibuki’s vortex was in play in this case, they’re adding a third option if everything failed. Lets pretend the vortex game was still the same right now in ae 2012. If we know what the options are for that, then they just gave the other player 2 more options. So, vortex game has become nearly non-existent. Then the rest is up to reaction, or a specific timing. Isn’t a delayed wake up adding pressure to the person that’s down?
