is there any reason to use cr mp? St mk is quicker and seems to have more priority…
St. MK priority is not that good, it’s just faster. Cr. MP has more range and priority. I was just thinking in terms of when you are fighting someone with better pokes, what can you do against them on the ground?
Vs Bison, if you beat any of his pokes with St. MK or Cr. MP you are likely too far to combo into anything. In that case, St. MP has GODLIKE priority. Beats Bison’s St. MK and St. HK CLEAN from just outside his range.
I jump in towards Chun often because her anti air game is pretty pitiful. I don’t mind fighting Chun Li. She doesn’t do all that well against pressure. When she can keep you out though with pokes or after she gets that knockdown…it sucks ass.
Also, I’ve heard that people are struggling VS Rog. Personally, I’d prefer that match up over any Bison, Rufus, Hawk or Gief alllllll day. At least Rog is winnable. I feel Bison and Hawk are unwinnable.
I have a feeling that forward HK is a solid move but people aren’t experimenting with it enough. It must have high priority and beat out a lot of stuff. I heard it stops Honda headbutt.
Also, does NB stop blanka ball during horizontal traveling animation? LOL.
Hmm I just noticed that Eventhubs’ frame data for Ibuki says f+HK is Bansho Kick. But on Eventhubs’ moves page for Ibuki it says Bonsho Kick. I’m convinced it’s supposed to be called Bonsho Kick since that’s what the SRK wiki says for Ibuki’s same move in 3rd Strike.
i actually use it against Honda a lot as well as b+mp. f+hk does stop Honda’s headbutt as well as interrupt the butt stomp if done right (interrupt early animation or starter).
fun facts as well, it evades most or crouch low attacks and punish them as well, like: Honda’s d+fp, or guiles sweep, or Even Bison sweep . here are some stuff i dont know if people know em or not.
f+hk stops those:
- Most of the sweep attack (specially guile), wither from first or second hit it can punish them
-Blanka’s Ball’s and even EX version
-Bison’s Psycho crusher and even EX version
-Honda’s Head butt and stomp, even Head butt EX version
-Boxers charges (those must be done a little bit early…could be even somehow guessing sometimes). as for charging b, f/d+punch one you can evade it and punish it Easily than the others for sure, even the EX version as well (u will evade the punch and hit him once), though u can punish the other EX versions
i also tested it on some stuff like punishing grabs…and actually it works sometimes and sometimes not. and it looks weird cause the grab animation will come out , ibuki evades it and punishh opponent…though when u land then tis like u done nothing against grabbers lol.
tested such a thing of Geif NON ex grabs and ABEL
hmm… when i posted that i used it A LOT against honda and that it’s anti honda “Mingo” came in and said it’s rubbish and that i dont know wut am saying >_>…hmmm
EDIT: also i know it’s not related, but u can also punish some ultra’s with f+FK (like Makoto’s Abre tsunami, or Akuma’s Wrath of demon.
for Blanka’s Ball horizontal or Vertical. nope u cant NB then. though for Horizontal u can block and punish with NB if they are close in range, as well as vertical on block or landing.
Fun fact: you can f+mk evade over from Blanka’s Forward roll balls
So tonight I decided to play some ranked match cause I was bored as hell. In 2 hours, I went from 2500BP to 4000BP. I’m still hovering around 3000PP though, which is why I still play ranked so I can learn how to win consistently with her(which is what the Player Points signifies).
Didn’t know how many people didn’t know how to block on PSN. I wish I could have gotten hatemail though but I’m not cheap enough for that.
Also, anyone digging how you can play music while playing matches? I’m a progressive house junkie so I was listening to Dinka and Jannova the whole time too haha.

Yes I love that I usually play classical and other vg tracks over the games. The soundtracks starts getting annoying after a while except for a few rare ones
I have like 2100PP or something. If I had just stuck to Chun I’d like to think I would have around 2800PP by now. There is still some match ups I suck at with Ibuki, namely Dictator, Boxer, E. Honda and Guile. Boxer is by far my worst though… I think I just need to man up and approach this guy, rather then trying to zone with kunai, only for him to approach and put the pressure on me. Really patient Guile’s can be annoying… but it’s not the worst ever. Dictator isn’t SO bad now that I’ve actually played the match up quite a lot, still more confident with Chun though. E. Honda is also annoying, for some reason he manages to land a j.hp on me quite often, and when they combo from that, that’s almost half my life bar gone. I guess I need to watch some of my replays and see where I messed up and work from there. I’ve been ignoring Ibuki for a bit now… There will be the odd days I’ll choose her all the time, but that’s like once every 3 weeks, other than that it’s like maybe for 4 matches out of 20. So yeah, there’s my cool story.
Double post but w/e. Do any of you guys find yourself hammering punch buttons when doing Ibuki’s super? I guess it has still stuck with me from 3s.
Nah I actually used her other super where she throws the kunai at the legs. Damage wasnt as good but I liked the combo potential.
When SJC I pretty much have to return to neutral before I can sjc to dash. With Ultra I dont need to. weird.
Ibuki needs a 3rd costume stat

I think they will make a 3rd alt for the newcomers eventually, well… I’m hoping. I hate her alt due to it showing the massive hunch on her back. Credit to Mingo for making me realize that. :sad:
