Mosly simple stuff with Hwoarang x Hugo, but I like the fact I can Tag Cancel to continue a combo after Monster Lariat. Ex Monster Lariat Tag Cancel into a EX charged Super Art is so good. The last (Pandora) combo at the end is pretty good too.
Nice vid with Hugo and Hwoarang, got some similar stuff with Law. I feel Hugo is definately best paired with a Tekken character, they cover his weaknesses really well.
Especially if you run your Tekken char on point then tag in Hugo for the hurt

This so hard. Hugo and Kazuya are a great team for me, Kazuya with onslaught to build meter and deal damage, then Hugo to bring in massive damage with the meter i gained.

RE : Why don’t you use MK back breaker after your combos?
A : I didn’t know about it! I started using it recently, and I do see the power of it. I was told about the setup right before Grand Finals, and wasn’t comfortable in using it for the first time in tournament. So when I say I will be back 10 times better, I mean it!

Bunch of matches I’ve played on a PSN stream. I picked out ones that were the least laggy. I would lose my streak to the most pathetic lag on my Xiaoyu combos lol. But I’m a stubborn one and will try to perfect my new main team as much as posssible ;).
You have got some delicious damaging team synergy going on there! I have to ask: Did you pick up the team after Chris G broke your heart with Xiaoyu?
After a meat squasher you did clap->walk a few step backs and st.HK (and held left to cross up the opponent)? That setup was neat! can you hitconfirm off of that one hit, or is it a guess?
I see you are getting good mileage out of that corps hop mk backbreaker. What have you found to be your “vortex” after that?
The only advice I could possible give you is to go for ultra throws instead of moonsault press. If the opponent is about to eat your slow moonsault press, he will most likely eat the ultra throw as well, and you get more damage off of it! (+ the mk backbreaker “vortex” set up).
PS: From capcom’s Q&A earlier, someone asked to reduse Raven’s c.HP loop juggle limit, and Capcom answered they would look in to it. It is quite possible that Xiaoyu is in the same boat, and will get a juggle limit nerf on her sweep loop, just so you know:P But the way you mostly use her, that doesn’t seem to be a big problem with your team, as you rely more on Hugo to do the Damage it seems!
Yes! Fell in love with Xiaoyu after I saw the damage and pressure. It’s a great addition to Hugo. Thanks Chris G, lol.
Correct. I have no particular setup - I just kind of know the timing. Offline, I can react to the roll and reverse drop kick. Online, I kind of have to guess. Whenever I go for the setup, online or offline…I just go into the launch. I am confident that pretty much anyone will get hit by it. I don’t use that setup much, and I haven’t seen it used by other Hugo players. So I just believe in it and go into the launch tag after that setup.
MK backbreaker setups…hmm, not so much! You can be DP’d out of cross up splash at that point. I only go for it if they are looking to late uppercut a string or just not do anything that will hit my cross up splash. Otherwise, I block and get a read on them. If I have a read, I will lariat absorb DP and dash up for a full combo punish. Or I let go of the lariat on their back dash on reaction. I’ve been using short, but I realize it’s worse. The timing on short lariat is too fast and knocks them aerial. I need to start using armor on mixup with medium or roundhouse depending on their back dash. It will get the clap back breaker combo extension.
Ultra throw…yes. I am only afraid to go for those online because some characters have fast jabs and that tends to be the cool thing to do online. However, I am using ultra throws in my resets almost all the time whenever I go for them. Either that or another reset which I will hopefully land on video sometime in the near future ;).
I am competitive in this game so I will lean towards whatever will give me the best odds. I look at it like this. If Xiaoyu is nerfed, it is one less problem for me even though I use her. I am able to use a handful of other characters, so whatever Capcom slips up and lets slide is what I will use competitively. Capcom always makes a mistake when making balance changes, so I just exploit that. :tup:

Yea, after the mk backbreaker cross up, dp beats cross up splash (So I mostly go for that on non-dp characters). To go straight into the ultra throw after the corps jump is also good!
I don’t have an xbox to check on, but I was thinking about Hugo’s super jump. It takes him further and higher than the normal jump, but still only has 1 more duration frame. Maybe he actually reaches higher and further more quickly than the normal jump, so we can do corpshop mk backbreaker->super jump splash cross up to atleast blow up 5 frame dp’s? Worth checking out!
Ah, you know that’s one of the first thing I’ve tried! Unfortunately, a jump is a jump…and it still loses to the same things. It helps against MP shoryus and maybe shoto’s LP ones (don’t quote me on the 2nd one) but I’ll have to do more testing. I know for a fact that it will lose to Hwoarang’s or Cammy’s DP though. If you’ve seen me get hit twice by a Chris G uppercut -> Xiaoyu…I tried to super jump the 2nd time. lol

I’m not the best Hugo player in the world but I am really trying to get ahead with him and show people how to win legit…
LOL! Holy crap. Did he not know how to punish or escape it? Or is that mixup impossible to get out of? I barely do that mixup, because I always got hit by mashed DPs and other moves. Is that mixup safe or what? OR is it only safe only people who dont know what to do?
You can backdash after c.short, alpha counter the clap, or dp after c.short, but it is pretty stupid to defend against for characters that don’t have a good reversal or backdash:P Juri could have mashed counter tp to get out:P
Don’t forget raw Launcher to beat either cr. mp or cr. lk. Works fine too!
