The info for part of the reason for all the hush hush regarding the PC port and the patch delays is here at the new Skullgirls HQ
Ummm… I’m pretty sure RL isn’t closed. The thing is that SG team is not part of RL now and founded their own developing company - Lab Zero. At least that’s how I understood all this ruckus.
Lab Zero is such a fitting name! Thank you for telling us this, now things will get back on track
Hopefully this means no more stupid higher ups to fuck things up.
There’s always someone higher to fuck things up ;D
That was actually a very good call. Can you imagine what the response would have been in August if Ravi had explained then?
Well its sad that this happened to the team but I wonder when this message was written, because we know they stopped working in the game at some point and its not the same said …·However, we are sad to report that these unfortunate circumstances have delayed the resumption of work on the PC version, and indefinitely delayed the first DLC character."
this in August than today.
Anyway It seems all the future* content will take a while.*
He’s said, for months, that they were working on the patch, and nothing after it is guaranteed. That’s what they’re still saying. Nothing has changed.
so the creators of the game got laid off by themselves?
On the plus side, the fact that they’re still in a studio together bodes well for future content quality wise.
I’m so confused…was Skullgirls not profitable enough? If so,why did the publishers take them back? If not, what the hell did they get fired for?
In any case, it’s good that they’re back together. I was really hoping for that PC version, but it’ll be great just to actually have the patch.
And with this move, all executive resistance to having Peter as an S-tier tanked playable character have been removed… all according to keikaku.
So when’s that Metroidvania game happening? :^)
Guys, Reverge Labs fired them all and made them withhold information…
#fuckyourevergelabs
Long live Lab Zero!
All according to kotaku
I didn’t even know of any internal turmoil until today. Best of luck to Lab Zero.
I changed the thread title. Reverge isn’t closed, they just laid off the SG devs back in June, who then formed their own company to continue to work on SG with Autumn Games, who now owns Skullgirls (instead of Reverge). This isn’t sad news. It’s happy news.
That was the point.
Well as long as the project can continue all you can do is play and wait
One must wonder, how does an indie dev team get laid off? Where do they get booted from? Terry Cavanagh doesn’t lay off Terry Cavanagh.
It seems like the whole story isn’t being told here still. Regardless, best of luck to Lab Zero.
They are an indie team that works in various games, they hired people for Skullgirls and other games and they lay off Mike and his team.
