Long Island Fight Club

wowowowow…almost a true FOB outing nice…would’ve been a full fledged fob outing if i was there.

lol, my bad, didn’t think you would want to go, but if u wanna come along, let me know soon. you might need to bring a sleeping bag though.

Actually, I’m not surprised by the non-invite (you’re right, I probably won’t go). I just wish I knew if this earlier so that I would push the tourney one more week. Anyway, I’ll think of something.

I don’t know who is more FOB, Terry or Ren?

i just heard about this tourney a couple days ago actually. Terry should’ve known about the foxwoods trip when you told him though, not sure why he didn’t mention anything

So are both mvc2 n anniversary going to b run on ps2? cuz i don’t have my ps2 or ps2 controllers anymore(sold’em for ps3) All my fighting games are for xbox so should i bring my xbox/games for it?

well marvel is gonna be on DC and anniversary will be on ps2…but idk if there are any adapters for the x-box…but i mean it shouldnt be that different to play on ps2 controller or arcade stick…i might bring marvel for the ps2 as well in case adapters run out or something although not many ppl will like playin that version…but i wouldnt know if you would be able to bring it your x-box or not

I doubt I can make it, but I’m actually in NY this week. I suck at everything now, but if James is there, I’m pretty sure I can still manage to beat him out of sheer determination alone, and he will get angry like he always does. That’s always fun.

Are Chaz and Liston still around? Do you guys still have regular sessions? I hear CTF is basically done now.

When will the 2 tournys actually start cuz i wanna play both but around 8 or 9 pm i gotta go help setup for a friend’s party also where exactly is it being held cuz i used to live in hempstead bout 12 yrs ago n all i know is that it’s mad close to the roosavelt field mall which is like a 15 min drive so from there could i get directions?

Update: This Sat (24th) is going to be a session starting at 2pm. MvC2 and 3S will be running in 2 stations.

Tourney has been pushed to the following Sat (March 3rd). I have to do this b/c alot of our guys won’t be able to make it this Sat.

Sorry for the delay post. I’m away for the week and I have limited net access.

Orochi, on my block there is a Burger King on Fulton Ave (Near Wings and Things).

damn it…um so should i still bring my ps2 in case more ppl are coming this time? oh yeah also im still bringing the money for the materials and stuff

Terry is definitely more FOB than me :frowning: , but i’m more FOB than dennis and on the same level as Jim. In fact he’s practically my brother-in-law if you get what i’m saying:bgrin:

LMAO!:lovin:

Lloyd, no need to bring your PS2. I doubt needing two 3S stations for the session.

New person

What’s up, people. I’m in Selden, like 5 minutes from Sports Plus.

I work at Castle Golf, which recently added a Capcom Vs SNK 2 machine and already has MvC2 and old SFs (not sure which ones) on one of those all-in-one machines. But they closed for the season and won’t open till April.

Well, my resume…

Expert in:
Virtua Figher 4, Evolution, and 5
Tekken: Dark Resurrection and somewhat Tekken 4
Soul Calibur 2 and 3 (I have Xbox version SC2)
All Dead Or Alives except I have yet to play 4

Games that I have and/or are good at, but no expert:
Ehrgeiz
SF Anniversary (my skills are solid casual in both. I have the Xbox version.)
Samurai Shodown 5
Bloody Roar 2 & 3
Capcom Vs SNK 2 (have PS2 version)
Fighter Maker 2
Marvel Vs Capcom 2 (have PS2 version)
All 3 recent 3D MKs (I have PS2 versions), Ultimate on the Sega Saturn, MK4 on PC
Alpha Anthology
Virtua Fighter 2 (I have Saturn and PC versions)
Virtua Fighter Kids
Fighters Megamix
Last Bronx
Fighting Vipers
Rival Schools
The 3D SFs

Yeah, and other stuff… but you’ve probably stopped reading the list by now. Anyways…

I’m always up for sessions/tourneys. (gotta get in as many as I can before I start working again) However, I don’t have a car. I am willing to bring games/accessories (I have the Pelican Universal arcade stick and I have 2 handy convertors to use PS1 and 2 controllers on Xbox)/systems (PS2, Xbox, or even the Saturn)/even a TV (run of the mill 16’’-ish screen CRT) to a session/tourney, or pay money (if I have actually some) in exchange for rides.

I hope to go to Evo East, but I will definitely be at World.

So anyways, what’s up everyone. :wgrin:

hmm that sounds interesting…yo syn i was wondering maybe you should set up a station for just casuals in anything cuz one of my other friends might be comin to the tourney next week and he would like to get some comp in DOA especially in the fourth one if anyone is up for it or maybe like pre-tourney casuals or something like that:wonder: but anyway its not my house so its up to the man…SYN lol

Cla, you should know better than to say that, man…

Hey Cla, two peeps I know out in your area are Tekken/VF heads. One works in Sports Plus (not sure if he still does) and the other is from Smithtown (he headed to the Break tourney yesterday for Tekken). I’ll pass your post to them.

Lloyd, there will definitely be casuals throughout tourney, however I have to favor the majority so most likely DOA will be ‘Dead On Arrival’.

lol its alright im not a doa player anyway but i was just wondering like to have a side station while the tourney is going for other ppl in case some other guys bring their consoles and crap…lol “Dead On Arrival” thats a good one:lol:

Oy, everyone.

I already meet with some people on Zaibatsu and VFDC for Tekken and VF. I’m always up to meet new people, of course. Actually, we’re always looking for new people cause the 3D fighting scene isn’t so strong in LI. (especially not for VF)

LI thread at TekkenZaibatsu (started by the man single-handedly responsible for keeping Tekken alive in LI, Spero Gin)
LI thread at VFDC (started by me in attempt to keep connected what little of a VF community there is in LI)

I believe I have seen that guy at Sports Plus. Juan? Didn’t get to speak to him much cause it was in the middle of a big session months ago. He gave me a tip for setting up Lili’s unblockable that I shortly forgot after leaving.

I said many things, which “that” be you speaking of?

Speaking of you… Hey, everyone: Here’s a vid of Sabin eliminating me from a DR tourney at CTF… :wasted:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8206835260349364323&hl=en

Good times.

Because you should know by now which games you are and arent a expert in.

The games that you should consider yourself a “expert” in are the ones you have done well at in major tournaments. Like regionals, nationals, worldwide comps, etc.

The games you listed that you are good at should just be listed as “I play casually” since there were little to no scenes in NY for half those games at all. At least tournament level anyway.

If you’re really good at aforementioned games, people will spread the word for you and you wont have to post your “resume” youreself, people will already know.

I only recently jumped into the competitive fighting game scene here, so it’s not like anyone could’ve heard of me before. And by expert in DR, I just mean I actually do understand how to play and I am very good, even if I’m not as good as the others winning and placing in tourneys. At the least, I play as Lili on an expert level.

I’ll be making a name for myself in VF at least once tourneys actually happen. But there doesn’t seem to much going on in LI with this game at all. Well, when I get my PS3, I’ll start up weekly sessions and monthly tourneys and hopefully it will grow from there. I’ll be the Spero of VF. :bgrin:

One point of the big game list was to let people know that I can help with tourneys and sessions by bringing the usuals like MvC2, CvS2, and Anniversary for 3s. But my main point of the list was just cause you never know what games people have played or were interested in but never got the chance to play. I’d really love to meet someone who has actually of heard of Last Bronx. Ehrgeiz was somewhat popular for its time, perhaps someone wants to take a trip down memory with a random casual. You never know.

But the people in this thread are mainly about 2D fighters and DOA… So…

:razzy: I will pwn you all in any DOA before 4 (shouldn’t take me long to adjust to 4 actually), and while I am a long time fan of SF and other 2D fighters, my skills in them all are solid casual. (my strongest and probably overall favorite being Alpha 3) Never mastered any 2D fighter. But I will be learning as I plan to sign-up for the Capcom games at Evo.

I forgot to mention I also KOF2000/2001 and Maximum Impact for PS2. Although I can’t remember where I put them…
