Basically…
1.) Sign-up for any tourneys you want without worrying about money.
2.) When you sign-up for a game, vote if you want it to be a $15 or $5 tourney. Risk vs Reward. Choose wisely.
3.) When the price for a game is determined, then I’ll ask for money if you still want in.
4.) You have the option of playing in a tourney for free, but you can not win money. I will be looking for free players to fill out brackets to avoid byes, which is why I need you to sign-up even if you don’t want to pay.
It’s hard to find. Even I haven’t found it yet.

I don’t think the $5 tourneys will stick because it resulted in extremely little money for everyone. Between 4 games, Joe won a whopping total of $36 and Castle Golf got only $20. But it was nice to try once.
I think I will drop the $15 price tag and have all games as $10.
And an important heads-up: I may changing the schedule to every other week instead of every week, and of course officially fully dropping the “2D/3D day theme” in the process.
Either way, plan ahead for June 17th. Don’t miss what should be the biggest tourney yet.
By the way, I no longer have a working PS2. The one I’ve been using for the past 2 weeks was one that Joe left at Castle Golf. I practiced GGXX:AC on it as much I could.

I just realized that June 17th is Father’s Day. So I will probably be changing the date of this big tourney to either June 24th or July 1st. (more likely July 1st)
Cla, sorry, but I needed my PS2 back. It was mine and I left it at Joe’s dad’s one night we were all playing. That thing gets around the Island, eh? If I come to another tournament, which I’d like to do, I’ll be sure to bring it with me.

DOA4 players: The NYC crew wants to come on June 17th. If you are free that day, come down. If we can’t show them a worthy turn out, they most likely won’t come back up again even for the big day on July 1st.

I remind people that tourneys are still going down if you are free this Sunday. (it’s Father’s Day for those who are still not aware yet) And I also remind you all of:
If anyone plays DOA4, please try to make it this Sunday. Even if you don’t play DOA4, come so we can show NYC a decent-size crowd anyway.
Also, the NYCers may or may not need someone to pick them up at Ronkonkoma Station. If you can help with this, I’d appreciate it. I’d let play in a game for free. (meaning you would be allowed to win money in this case)
For the thread regarding the 7/1 tourn you have the price as $10 venue + $5 for each game. Last time the games were $5 and you said it was too little so you’d have toup it to $10 but now we’re at the $15 mark again. This is way too expensive.

Those are prices specifically for the big July 1st event. The price is designed to encourage people to enter in multiple games. With a flat $10-per-game price, it would cost $50 if you wanted to enter in 5 games. But on July 1st, $50 will get you 8 games. Also, the purpose with giving you all weeks warning is to encourage you to save up specifically for this day. :china:
For all the other Sundays, I’ll stick with just the simple flat $10 per game.
And I just realized we don’t have to get rid of the $5 tourneys. If we play on days where there’s not gonna be parties and I’m not gonna get asked to come in for regular work anyway (like most week days), we could totally do that. No pressure for the event to make money.
You all pick out any weekdays you want and I’ll make it happen. :bgrin:
