If one thing has proven true over the thousands of years human culture has existed it’s that some people manage to get a lot further ahead than others. Those people also then tend to use their wealth to stack a situation that will only bring them more wealth… both politically and in terms of business (is there a difference these days?). Since we know wealth isn’t ever actually created or destroyed but instead only changes hands… we have to draw a simple parallel and assume that group A has 99.9% of the worlds wealth b/c (wait for it)… group B has no wealth. How does group B ever manage to get out of this situation? The only logical answer I’ve heard from anyone is to “get a job”… “work harder”… ect… but what you are really saying there is that in this situation the way for group B to get ahead is find a way where by working for someone in group A for long enough and hard enough they might join group A. This is a fallacy given that for someone in group A to hire a group B’er it obviously means the B’er is making the A’er more money than he himself is making. Ergo the “work harder” concept is really fallacy. The poor don’t get rich by working… the rich get richer by having the poor work. The poor simply survive another day… and another day… and another day… until one day they just lose it… say “FUCK THIS SHIT” and start rioting.
“The system” is the problem. The “way things are” is the problem. It’s not even a question. So which is the lesser evil? Rioting and taking by force what you want from some corporation? OR Perpetuating a system that keeps the majority of the worlds populous as wage slaves to make the rich even richer?
All this being said… the rioters are still jackasses. Some people want to see them like some robin hood figures but honestly the footage I saw was of looting TV’s and shit… not like they were going around taking truck loads of food, clothes, meds, and goods to the poor. (Which is a riot I’d have applauded 100 times over.)
Keep in mind that the footage you saw does not necessarily represent the “gist” of what was happening during the riots, it’s simply the footage that the media barons decided to release to the public. Unfortunately we don’t see very many photos or videos from independant sources, which would be much more credible. Im sure there were many people raiding grocery stores long before they went after electronics.
But then again, if the goal during a raid is to take as much as would benefit your household as possible, wouldn’t food be less valuable an item to stuff your pockets with than, say, jewelry, which can possibly be traded for many other household items at a later date? (Im not defending the looters obviously, just shedding light on some perspectives which may not have been considered.) It kind of makes the idea of “all those looters are selfish thugs who should be locked up for a long time” seem incredibly ignorant.
I don’t know if anyone in this thread is familiar with Skepta, but it’s sad to say that when I first heard about these riots a couple weeks ago my first thought was “when my hair gets naughty might see me in the barber’s in Totty it’s Skepta the African hotty” hahahahahahah
I’m an avid believer of eugenics when it comes to dealing with people who just dont want to work.
When its comes to benefits women with children are the #1 priority. I say give these women benefits after they have their first child. If they have more than one kid there on their own.

there will always be a percentage of people who cannot work or refuse to. gang members, people on welfare, etc… it’s not their fault being born into the lowest class of society in some over populated city

Of course their birth is out of their control, but if they stay in that situation then you gotta start assigning blame to them. Welfare queens are able to prosper because they get freebies from the government.

these city slickers have no real goals only welfare checks, sports, new toys, trivial shit and then maybe their families. what do u expect them to do, change society? get a dead end job of no real importance? relocate? the system forces so many useless rules and regulations that cause psychological problems that they’re fucked to begin with. my neighbours piss me off with their loud drunken fights but thats just something I have to accept living in a densely populated city. when I lived in rural towns the only fear I had was being burnt to death in a bush fire.

Burglary means breaking in and stealing. Theft is just the act of taking someone’s stuff against their will. I’m pretty sure that robbery and theft are interchangeable.
