London UK, Arcades

I’ll be going to London end of July and will be checking the arcades. I’ll be looking for these games: KOF XII, Blazblue & Tekken 6 BR they’re all there right? And with sanwa sticks & buttons? And is there a virtua fighter 5 R cab (probably unlikely but still possible)?

Heh, i knew using the search option was a good idea! Going to london for two days and didnt feel like visiting museums ! See you in casino !

What the hell happened to Alpha2 in goodge street?

They took it out :frowning:

fucking nitwits, shit… and they stll have super turon eventhough they already have anniversary edition.

God damnit. I’m from Brisbane, Australia and I was thinking of coming to the UK for a year of postgrad, but can I live without an active Tekken scene? The decision is so much harder now!

There is a very active Tekken scene in London. In Trocadero for a 1 a crediit you can go to Trocadero where you will find one machine but a huge community for Tekken. Casino has 1 for two credits and a smaller but still significant Tekken community. So if you are worried about a Tekken scene you will find ample competition in London. Go on neoempire.com for more info on UK touneys.

i’ve been to troc a few times. didnt really get chatting to anyone, its pretty intimidating. even just putting up your 1 to get whupped. never been to casino, but hoping to get down there this week maybe next. would be cool to organise a meet up seeing as im new to the boards

Send me a private message.

theres a big scene for tekken in the UK especially with TK6 coming… where abouts yo staying when you come ove rto the UK

Anybody know if there’s an age restriction for casino?
I snuck in one time and played abit of 3S, I don’t wanna get into any trouble trying to get in.

There is no age restriciton as far as i know.

UK players, I need help!!! Just American folk trying to find a crazy pair of sneakers and this particular shop doesn’t ship to the United States. I didn’t know where else to post, but if the mods know somewhere else where I can post, be my guest, otherwise, HELP!

=(

I am going to London for the 1st time in 2-3 days from now.
I don’t intend to spend my time at the arcades but I 'll pay em a visit at least once hopefully.

As it seems the only places worth going at are the Trocadero and the Casino?
How do I get to the Casino?
Also as it seems the arcades @ Troc are a bit pricey right? Are they any cheaper at the Casino?
I’m interested in ST, 3S and SF4 btw. VF5 would also be nice but I don’t even know if there are VF cabinets in London.

Go to goodge strreet station and is right next to it.
No
Casino is the cheapest, has all games barring VF5, but fewer 3s cabinets. Troc has VF5, more expensive and does not have MVC2.

Cool, thx for the info.
I guess that I’ ll start from the Casino and as for the Troc, it seems I’ ll pay a visit to Piccadilly no matter what, so I’ ll also check the arcades there.

I’ll be in London around new year. I’m from montreal but am staying in france for a year. Is there anything sfiv related happening in london between dec 28th and jan 2nd?

I believe there is a SF4 team tournament going on early January? But I think it’s 3rd January.

If you come to Casino (Goodge Street Underground station) there’s 6 linked SF4 cabs and always competition on fridays/saturdays. If you have any particular date, you could post it in the Casino thread to make sure they’ll definitely be people there:

Hi there, I was just wondering, I’m going to London for about a week in early July and figured I’d also attempt to pop in and World Warrior it up a bit with some SF4 whilst there. So far in terms of accomodation, I’ve got places to potentially stay in Blackheath (which is supposedly near Greenwich) and Kensington.

I was just wondering which of those two would be closer to either the Trocadero or the Casino. Or, alternatively, would there be a suburb/area near either that has either a decent hotel/hostel type thing and would also be near the usual London touristy things. This could all be a non-factor since you apparently have a functioning public transport network in London (in comparison to the relative public-transport slum that is Western Australia) but any help/info would be cool

Both are only about half an hour away from Casino by tube, and the tube station is right next to Goodge Street Arcade

(Don’t go Troc for SF4: buttons are broken at the moment)
