London Thread 2012

6 is the earliest I can get there. I also have to show possibly the greatest glitch ever tomorrow (Joe you will really like this one).

I will aim for 6:30 then. If Drew’s map/info is questionable about parking, would you mind giving up some directions to your parking Joe?

My plan is to show up there for Sunday. But I want to grind out a bit with SFxT so I have some ideas about more of the Tekken side of things. Plus, I have questions about Heihachi…

Remember: links can cancel in normal specials, only EX specials can be used to cancel from chaining. Depending on character used, sometimes a light > medium is accepted as a link via timing (slower then input for chain). But there does seem to be more leniency on certain inputs and plinking still works as well.

You go down Epworth Ave, then turn onto Meadowdown Dr and park in the little square above the M. I hope that link works!

if you have any heihachi questions just pm me…im warning you though, he is now my 2nd best char (1st is not nina)

Guys I’m gonna start going to town on SFXT tonight. Post who you guys are using and I’ll start busting out the practical knowledge.

lol

Interesting. Rolento then?

If its not blocking high/low mixups, its teleports with high/low mixups. sigh I am going to getting more blocking practice in.

I told them to prepare for our arrival 6ish, just to be safe.

Just got the game…played around in training mode…and I’m finding it more and more disappointing. AE is def a better game.

Corry, Bison’s AE combos seem to be all there. PC crosses up. Same shit, different game.

But yeah, I dunno how much these top players got paid to say it’s the best SF game ever made, but it def is not. AE > this, and lots of other SF games are > AE.

Besides Alvin?/mihai/Ben/Joe, who else has it?

Anyone found anything amazing in the game yet, like simple combos and the like? I feel most combos are about using cross tag ins. Like doing a corner loop with Ryu then switching in ken to add some extra hits to an SRK or something. I’m still in the “goofing off” kinda stage of the game.

This game is terrible wow just played a few more hours…Tekken/Ono/new age scrubs/game industry/ruthless capitalism/ignorant masses need to die. ST/A3/CVS2/3S/and yes even AE >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> this shit. This game makes AE look like the best SF game ever made.

Tell us how you really feel Mihai.

Unfortunately Mihai, it is the new age of gaming. The games you mentioned will be locked in our good ol day memories from Wizards, never to return again. Guess we gotta suffer through it. Pray that CVS3 will be good. You know they will make it. But not how you remembered. This game is poop, but it is still better than Marvel. Especially since Rolento is in it. But I will give it more time to make my decision.

Meh, it’s fun. I got into fighting games watching 3s and playing mvc2, and I’ve accepted the fact companies primarily want to draw new players because their fans (us) are suckers and will play whatever. So just try to enjoy what you got - a bigger scene everywhere. Seems like you can do a nice 7 hit combo by mashing your face on the stick, but the (easy) link combos feel good coming from a Marvel player. Rolento hurts my soul though, jabs have better range than Abel’s step kick?! Get outta here.

You want a good game Mihai? I hear KOF XIII is hard and skillful. Seems to be the only respected game nowadays in terms of skill. I’ve always want to learn a second game to play in tournies, it’d be SFxT/KOF or SCV. Bring back MVC2 so we can have 50 man tournies of that =(

As long as it’s SF I don’t mind. I honestly have no interest in KOF/MK/BB/etc. I grew up with it being my only fighter series. When i saw Ryu/Spider Man/Megaman on the same team though I knew I had to get into that series lol.

We all know these games are easy/dumb. Mihai, if you get over that and focus on these games, you can excel and just put down all the scrubs moreso. Hell I bet you could go to east side of London and not play SFxT and still beat them all. Even with Xfactor/Ultras it’s still noticeable to see who is the better players.

I’m actually enjoying the input style of SFxT, you can’t just magic series everything cuz it just for switching chars mid combo. To actually do combos its moreso link based. And to do the big 2 character combos you gotta have the timing of the switch.

Chris, if CVS3 comes out you’ll have your usual bar graph of excitement to hatred. Can’t wait when its announced to never wanting to touch it once you learn some char isn’t in it/easy combos. Like every other fighter you’ve praised for the first months of its development. lol

And Joe, just be glad Rolento’s c.M can’t be canceled lol

Here is a small map of what you need to do for tomorrow.
Green is Parking
Red is location (its on the 1st floor, look for signs of “Gaming Room”, if you see Pinball machines your in right place)

this is what Capcom has been doing to us since SF4

Soon, every1 will accept the crap they make, and not only NOT criticize them, but think it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread. Even looking at SFXT’s 2on2 mode reminds me of Smash Brothers and how they’re trying to make it into a party game. 4 characters on the screen at once in a SF game? Really?

We all know yet somehow the SF community is the only community I know of that lacks integrity. We play w/e gets thrown our way like the bitches we are.

Linking into chains into tag is hella easy and one of the first things I tested last night.

Ryu: c. short, c. jab, [c. jab, c. forward, s. fierce xx tag]
Ken: c. short, c. jab, [c. jab, c. forward, s. rh xx tag]

And the timing involved in combo’ing after a switch is about as hard as wiping your ass.

As for not being able to magic series everything, that’s cause you’re not thinking of the practical applications…it’s NOT just for switching. When I played Alvin, I would do meaty s. short with Hugo, 50/50 into SPD or CH c. short, c. forward chain. Or with Ryu, you could do c. short, pause, CH [c. jab, c. strong], c. forward xx EX Stepkick into w/e. This is assuming the frame advantage off a chain’ed normal is the same as the normal done by itself. Bottom line is this: chains are super scrubby. But I wouldn’t expect anything less from this gem of a game.
