“It turns out that the Super Easy Input gem from SF X TK is not just for newbies after-all. Tataki found some interesting uses for the gem on grappler characters. Equipping it on Zangief, for example, allows you to use U+P/K instead of 360+P/K for his grappling moves”
Easy mode to the extreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeam
So from the tourny at King’s we realized this may be the place were we should do sf now. They have a lounge area with pinball machines/arcade classics MAME machine. Fooseball and Ping Pong tables. Open location with couches and tables. and…what we all really care about…FREE PARKING!
If we can use the location, then it is a matter of number of setups that are brought/available, how late it stays open and if there is a certain time limit or period parking is free. Free parking is a start, but it is just more then that.
My thinking is if the room booked for say 4, I don’t care how the sleeping arrangements for the other 3 are: one bed is mine and mine alone if I pay 50% of the room. No sharing, no “I wake up to Drew spooning me which finally pushes me over the edge and go psychotic”, nothing like that.
I get the impression they are trying to get some top US players? Considering I was suggesting getting a room for two nights (Friday/Saturday), I would guess that any players from the US would end up housed there. I take you are saying no sleep for us = we would let them in our suite for salty runbacks and such, which I could live with. Even with that being the case, we need somewhere to crash for a few hours and clean up (HOLY FUCK I CANNOT EMPHASIZE THIS PART)/storage stuff. If the other 50% of the cost of the room is split three ways, that would be $67 for 2 nights, which I think in the range of affordability for you guys?
Me "We gotta set up our buttons."
Our opponents/every brawl player in the room “You can do that? I didn’t even know you could edit that!” - The moment me and and Alvin knew we couldn’t lose at a 2v2 brawl tourny. lol
We were there last night until like 12:00, but I’ll do some research to be sure how long we can stay. I’ll look into see if anyone would object to us bringing two setups every week, or if it’s possible to book it. It’s the “games room” so I can’t imagine anyone will tell us to be quiet or anything, just a matter of not taking up the whole space.
As for Toryuken, I’ll split a hotel 4 ways. I figure Alvin will stay home and we got at least 4 other people interested, but 100% I’m going.
Talking to the prez, atm he says he could setup weekly thursday events for fighters where we could come and setup there instead. And if ppl wanna attend they could bring their own things too so we’d have more players/setups
it’s like down the street from Western lol, a block away. I’ll post all the details on here tomorrow, gonna go do stuff tonite lol
But ya, this thursday we gotta do our things there. Let em see how we work and how things go. They think were some kinda official club of some sort lol
So ya, the prez/vice prez/finance guy were all for us hanging out there. They would even want us to kinda be associated/part of their events.
This will give us a REALLY good place to play/have the people who live on campus a thing they can do/ and the thing Mihai wants most, more players and people wanting to play fighters in London
They want to turn thursdays into a weekly fighter thing at their place. Meaning we go and set up and play there for as long as we want (apparently its 24/7 available) and no one would mind. This would even mean as long as we say “were part of the kings gaming club” security and everyone there will be like “ok”.
Course this can change, I told them how were kinda organized based on the turn out/who’s available and how sometimes we do other days other than Thurs. They said thats fine and if we ever did change days there would be no problems. They also said that us simply going in and setting up and playing is no problem. Security/people won’t mind as long as you mention** Kings Gaming Club**. One exec is also like the organizer of the Gaming Room on the King’s Student Councel and he said weekly things there would be no problem. I also mentioned how were used to other events coming in on us (like at Huron SAC) and how we have no objection to moving if the need arises.
There was 1 problem he brought up however, say we have a joint event and their club members notice “hey how come those ppl didn’t have to pay for membership to be here”. They agreed that this may be the only problem they could see happening.
Now membership for the club is $15. But here is a list of what it gets you.
5% off Future shop purchases
access to all club events
- some events include (Retro Nights/Launch Parties/Genre meetings/etc)
- this also includes the free pizza/pop they provide for members
more “proof” to prove that were part of the club if someone asks
I also wanted to mention, that even tho its 15 it’s a small price to pay to give us a very nice place to play/free parking for as long as school is in session. (They are unsure if the building is open during summer)
Now I know that some of you may not want to pay the $15 since you don’t care for the club/other events and just wanna play fighters. I brought this up saying “just mention its a group event and some of these people aren’t in the KGC club but the fighting game community”. They were still a lil unsure of what should happen if the problem arises.
But I know some people (like me and Chris) would be down for becoming members since we got no more WEGA lol.
They wish to have a meeting there this Thursday (I said i’ll let em know the start time and details before Thursday)
So any questions or concerns you want me to ask them? They are excited to have us use that place/see us though.
