Location Test Questions

So we all know location tests for USF4 take place soon. I was wondering what questions you guys had since I’ll be going to Super Arcade to see what they’ve done with Gouken (sucks we haven’t gotten any official news on him yet). So if you have any questions or things you want me to find out please post them and I’ll try and get them answered so we know what to expect from the G-man. Also, anybody else plan on attending the location test at super arcade?

I’m trying to get Dec. 6 off so I can go to NEC or drive up on the 7th…

I’m still mostly pad, so I’m not sure if I need to put some work in on the stick…

Is the platform at the loc test on PS3, Xbox, or cabinets?? And do they normally have everything set up or do you need to have your own stick etc…

Loctests are usually cabinets so that’s what I would reccomend to expect(arcade version is whats getting released first), but keep an eye on capcom unity to be sure. Also even when on console they usually want to keep a very close eye on the disc and so will probably have provided sticks. None of these are confirmed though as I just don’t know, but it’s what I would expect :slight_smile:

It was on arcade cabinet at the Asia game when they had the first test. They are shipping the same unit to NEC after software update so pretty much 99% sure it is exactly the same thing. So, for another word, they are going to be on sticks.

Well heres the first change list from a jpanese loc test, would be good to keep some of it in mind when testing it out on US builds, see how much stays the same/changes.

EX Tatsumaki Gorasen has expanded hitbox (hits crouchers)

st.lk to fireball will be a little easier to use than st.mp in footsies. This should be nice.
not exactly sure what we’re supposed to do with cr.mp being +3
no more kongo but is nice
as the only nerf, reduced stun on flip throw is overlookable
more hitbox on lp.palm… guess we’ll see how much
ex tatsu hitting crouchers, well, ok. That wasn’t nearly the top of my list for fixing tatsu, but sakura will be a little easier.

It would be nice if the hitbox for lp palm was more vertically oriented.
It also looks like 3 zone kongo is here to stay :confused:

Really bummed to see that the parry is remaining a 3 option move and not going back to the 2 possibilities. That alone would have been a great buff.

Could we confirm to cls.st.mk now?

The +3 to the crouching MP makes me think their are more changes to come.

Something tells me that that is going to work off something else.

Fingers crossed for some good Gouken buffs I would love to see him played more often in the tournament circle.

The +3 on hit makes cMP cancel to hadou combo on hit.
It only needed to be +2 to allow the combo, +3 means more than just point blank canc ombo. Also counterhit is now +6 allowing for counterhit hadou to pretty much combo from distances as well as links for more moves. For one, close MP to cMP is now a 1f frame trap on block that combos on hit. If close MP cMP xx Hadou results in a full combo still remains to be seen though, distance might be too much.

I suppose cr.mp being +3 leads to counterhit trap cr.mp, which would be +what? if it’s +6 then that’ll be a one frame link to sweep…

Knee jerk done… I guess… If lp palm is “fixed” then st lk > lp palm should be a strong keep out tool…

If they nerfed the stun on gf grab… Did they also shorten the recovery???

Maybe +3 to cr. mp might allow it to combo into mp palms consistently which would allow for a new hit confirm BnB for less damage than the current BnB off cl.st.mp…but why? Does this allow for hado combo?

I’m assuming st lk to hado will not combo soooo…yeah. It hope it at least cancels from max range.

I don’t see anything that makes me think he’s going anywhere in the tiers except ex tatsu.

I assume they are making it +3 by reducing the recovery frames?

I’m wondering what is up with the far standing lk being cancellable. That seems like a odd buff? Is it possible that it could be cancellable into a fireball? aka mirroring the mk into fireball that ryu has?
