No you don’t mash it. What you do is hit HP slightly before hitting MP. Go into training mode and test it out. Turn on the setting so you can see your attack inputs. If you are doing it right it will look like this:
MP HP
HP
It takes a little practice but once you get it down you shouldn’t mess it up too much. Just remember hit mp as fast as you can after hitting hp, and it should come out. If you still don’t understand it after what I said than go here http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=186686 It explains it in a great amount of detail.
Oh, I see I was reading it wrong this whole time. I put the button input on training and i was doing MP HP> HP but this i was suppose to do it the other way around, now I’m finally getting the hand of it, thanks.
the secret to making it easier is plinking but practicing all day wont get this combo down you will need to practice for weeks to get the feel. Its one the hardest combos atleast for me to be consistent with. You just have to stick with it even if you get frustrated thats what xbox live is for to try and learn new stuff cause theoretical points arent going to get you anywhere in life.
yeah i was having problems with that too then i switched to using “negative edge” and it has gotten easier… i still got another anoying problem, i keep doing c.hp instead of standing hp lol…
I was doing that when I first practiced the combo, just try practicing it without the GT at the end. Then incorporate the Galaxy tornado at the end of the combo, the reason you’re getting c.HP is because your trying to do the GT too fast, let the stick remain neutral first.
I do the galactic tornado with a half circle forwards instead of just a quarter circle at first, helped with the timing. Now I just do qcf but I didn’t really make a breakthrough with my success on that until I did the hcf
Well I can hit lk hp pretty consistently, and it took me a long time to get it down pat.
Basically, just plink and practice. Whenever I’m playing online I always practice in arcade mode with arcade request on. It’s really the only combo I practice when I’m playing the comp.
Also, it’s probably better to start slow, as opposed to start fast. What I mean is, after lk make sure you leave enough frames for HP to come out. Focus on just getting the HP to come out always after LK. Then try to tighten it up as you get HP to come out consistently. Online during games, even if you miss the 1 frame link into HP, a lot of the time players will try to tech throw, and a lot of times get hit out of it with the HP-> GT even if you didn’t link it perfectly. It’s much more dangerous during matches if you hit HP too soon and nothing comes out after your LK.
Does anyone else feel that this link is WAY easier to do in SSF4? I used to rarely get it in vanilla but in super, I can get it almost 100% of the time (I plink it and sometimes I get s.mp, but it still combos so it’s still good to me)
im so close to being able to do this link, i always get the dk into lk for 2 hit combo followed by hp into htornado for 4 hits, every now and than I can get the full 6 hits.
maybe I just need to practice plinking since that seems the for sure way to do it, ive been practicing without plinking but when I try to incorporate into the combo it just feels so akward <_<
