I luv that backdash of hers, I feel like a prick for not using it enough cuz it could get me out of a lot of nasty situations

it also has something like 24 frames of invulnerability starting at frame 1…which is nice since litchi’s normal backdash seems to get hit a LOT
on a side note, that’s LK’s litchi…the writer of the FAQ on dust loop…there’s a really nice match between him and ninjaCW(I think that’s his name, he’s a jin)…he’s a really beastly litchi

lol I am so late on Lichi. I am just now learning her Oki setups. Lichi Oki game is beastly especially in the corner.

I do have a question however. Do you guys ever play without Mantenbou? I do on occasion for for setup with staff. Maybe it is just better with staff for most part?

I think it was someone here who said it, but you’ll get used to the “flow” of playing with Litchi - you’ll constantly swing back and forth between having the stick and fighting without it, especially with her corner game. It’s what makes her fascinating to play with, in my opinion…

I think my staff Litchi is all right, but people who pressure me when I’m without it (e.g. after a bad/blocked/baited Tsubame, after a dodged Shishin, etc.) will get the better of me more often than not. Methinks I need to work on my staffless Litchi…

its just litchi. one char, one name !

if you can get reads easily, try going for a CH 5C, it gives awesome stagger. assures your combo to bring them into the corner.
easiest one IMO (besides some generic groundstring into 3dragons) when staff is behind you would be
5C(CH) > 6C > 5C(otg) j.B > j.C > D > airdash >>> j.B > j.C > staffhit > land6C > tsubame > oki setup.
just in case, the part after the >>> might be different depending how far the corner is. if close to corner, maybe take out j.B or the 6C just experiment.

also i feel her j.C is just the awesome. if you want to be defensive you can recall after hitting with this, or alternatively go for a combo (judgement needed whether you can combo afterwards or not (height))

her blockstring gets more variety also, since her 6A without staff can be linked into other moves. even more mixup, and while your opponent is guessing between high and low you can just choose to recall and maybe bait your opponent into trying to counter and eat staff.

these helped me a lot (especially staffless part, helped my strings etc.

I’ve been fooling around with staffless play alot lately as I tend to try and get the staff back to me as quick as possible and it sometims bites me in the ass.

my favorite staffless combo outside the corner is 5B, 6B, 5C, 2C, 6C, 5C, j.B, j.C, land, haku hatsu chun. it’s about 3200 damage, and looks nice, but kinda hard to land a 5B close enough to get the 6C to hit on most characters, so I don’t use it much, but that just makes it that much sweeter when I can. if I feel like I RC the chun to j.C then another 3 dragons, 3700 dmg I believe, sorta character specific.

if I can catch someone in the corner with a staffless 6C, I’ll go into haku, chun, 5B, 6C, 5C, j.B, j.C, haku hatsu chun. a little over 4k dmg, and of course you can rc for a few hundred more points, but it’s probably better to recall the staff and try for more corner games depending on how close it is.

Its 3262 damage. Pretty solid combo. Its an upgrade from my previous ground combo that was only 2200.

Second corner combo does 4072. Having a pretty hard time with the 5B after chun though. Also. it seems that if you go into that combo from a longer combo, it cuts you off after the chun. Can anyone explain the system they use to end combos? I’m guessing the longer the chain the faster one can recover?

Also, I have to say that after leaving Litchi for Taokaka for a week, it feels good to be back. I’m also strangely able to do some combos I couldn’t before.

I swear Lord Knight could write a encyclopedia on “How to play Litchi-Faye-Ling” with all that stuff (I’d read it), I don’t think I’ll ever have a 2nd in Blazblue because Litchi is just too fun

after having a mad crazy Litchi training/mirror match/session 2 weeks ago, I’ve kinda dropped my Hakumen play and my Litchi game seriously went up. I admit I was all Litchied out that saturday but I’ve gain love for my Litchi so much now.

also…anyone know if this glitch is universal/1 time only/Litchi only glitch? This crap happened when me and Icege had a few casuals Monday and this shit pops out. Stuck middair as if I was dropping from the air yet…i’m just stuck in the animation and I can’t move. I haven’t tried testing it out in training yet but I figure it’s a 1 time thing.

it at the very least cost him the round…which he was obviously capable of winning had he not glitched…if he had won that round, he would have won the match…which means it HELPED cost him the match…

anyway…I think I have it figured out…I would just need to test it, tried testing a naked burst vs. super to no avail…BUT I think it has something to do with teching and bursting immediately after, or maybe canceling hitting the ground after a quick ground tech with burst, while the opponent is activating their super
