Lip licking videos. The Juri Video Thread(Match up, Combo vids, tutorials and more!)

Here are some of my matches in ranked. So far my biggest mistakes in matches are due to bad calls and using moves at the worst time and place. So far the character I’m most afraid of is Hugo due to his huge physique and damage. He’s so big that he makes me hesitate on using cr.HP to anti-air him as I always end up thinking that it may not work.

Looking for some insights into the Vega Matchup… atm it feels like vega can pretty much push buttons all day and Juri has no direct answer to it (even launcher seems to whiff against his cr.lp, but that may be due to range or lag). I know this is tatsu here, but his vega is the only character he’s used that makes me feel this helpless D:

I’m trying out Bryan X Juri. Getting my butt kicked for the most part. I still have some work to do. Here are a couple matches. Last match is me using my main team(Akuma/Juri). I might drop Akuma in the long run. It’s nice having a high health character like Bryan for a change.

Anyway, I think once I hit rank B im done with Ranked Matches, I find Endless sets much more beneficial to learning. Im about 200 points away from B. Once I get there im going to play a lot more characters.

I know what you mean – It is amazing how you can Anti-Air someone and they just keep jumping. Like Umm it has worked for you yet so why I try?

Oh! and please forgive the stupid wobbling effect (wtf?!) Youtube said it sensed shacky hand and focus problems. It offered to ‘Fix’ it.
I was like Huh? new options that is kinda neat. sure fix it Youtube – LOL!!! yeah original videos are 100x better. Note to self Youtube can’t ‘Fix’ shit.

Another Ranked Match where they keep jumping on me. This guy has twice as many points as me and is a fellow Juri, you would think he would pick his jumps better. I go into the 2nd round thinking “ok, I AA’ed him a lot, he’ll stay grounded”. Nope, and it cost Akuma half his life lol.

Also at around 3:15 I get a weird counter hit combo. I dont know how well you can see it because the quality is so bad, but I get a trade CH cr.HP to combo into cr.mk xx cr.hk. That’s something I’ll have to look out for because I do get a lot of CH traded cr.HP in my matches, especially when my opponent is crouch teching/mashing.

Yeah, Youtube does that to me too. I just tell it not to “fix” it. The quality of my videos is bad enough without that wobbling lol.

Akuma is fun, and he works well with Juri. He’s not as bad as people make him out to be. I just think having 850 health in this game is way too low, imo.

Yeah. His get out of jail for free warp and air fireball in a game without focuses are actually massive assets. But his health and sketchy hitbox/priority holds him back but hes still very useable.

Ok, some things I noticed:

  1. You seem to use c.mp a lot for AA which is ok when c.hp doesn’t work. But the problem is you do c.mp into nothing. You could at least store a fuhajin or CADC under for an ambiguous cross-up.

  2. You’re way too predictable with your kasatushis. Also stop using HP kasatushi that only works on noobs. Use LP or MP versions they are much better. LP Kasatushi has more chances to lead to a combo and less chances of being punished.

  3. Your pressure is kinda weak. You need to work on your blockstrings and frame traps because they were pretty inexistent in those matches. I mean the most you did was mash s.lk x3, mixup c.lk with Sekku, fuhajin release into c.mk and sometimes block confirm into a random unsafe chain. I suggest you start incorporating CADC more into your game. And also always end a blockstring or close poke with a Store.

  4. You kept falling for Tatsu’s frame traps and switch traps repetitively. So instead of mashing stuff while blocking I suggest you keep blocking, backdash or back jump more instead. Block low and react to Xiaoyu’s overheads. Vega can’t do much beside throw you.

I know you wanted tips on the Vega matchups more than anything but tbh I don’t think your lack of MU knowledge is the main problem here. Because his Xiaoyu was giving you just as much trouble. And I don’t know enough about the Vega matchup to give insightful tips anyway… The only thing I know for sure is that Vega needs his Super to anti-air, so if he doesn’t have 2 meters, jump on him as much as possible lol.

Aside from the Kasatsushi finish (which motivated me to upload this match in the first place), there is nothing really to say about this match.

The game was laggy I kept on dropping certain moves and I can’t use links either. My opponent is probably having the same problems so pardon this.

And a few matches with my tag partner. We were a bit drunk during most of these matches, so our reactions may have been a bit off a few times. I’m still upset about messing up that cross assault combo at the end xP

I’ve noticed my partner has made me develop a bad habit of always ending combos with pinwheel instead of stores because he will always tag himself in whenever we have meter. And I never really used boost combos until we reached A rank, I guess that’s the A rank syndrome.

I took a break from fighting games for a bit, but I’m back. Here are the last couple of ranked matches. I’m a B rank now, not that it matters though.

Fought the Same Hei/Hugo player back to back. @1:56 in the second video, that was me trying to remember how to Alpha Counter and getting the worst possible results:

Good to see matches up again! I’ve given up on getting a “better” capture device for the time being (in ultimate money saver mode now lol), so I’m just going to record with what I got over the next few days and post 'em.

My latest match involving Juri. I wonder which of the techniques I’ve used here would no longer be applicable in upcoming patches?

Lets see…

  1. dive kicks will be unsafe on block SF4 style
  2. all versions of pinwheel punishable on block, kasatushi afterwards will not save you.
  3. ryu’s donkey kicks become unsafe on block (I think the lk might still be safe, but not leave you + on block…)
  4. Ryu’s air-tatsu gets more recovery after landing, has more hurtbox and less hitbox. (easier to AA and whiff)
  5. more a suggestion than something that wont work: Cancel all of ryu’s sweeps into fireball CADC > dash (fwd if it hits, back if it doesn’t)…
