All seriousness though, I was thinking “Make it Rain” as a reference to her Rain Dance stance and maybe something like “Phoenix Rising” or “Phoenix From the Ashes” to reference AOP stance.
Also, there is a chance I may get to break street date and obtain my copy of SFxT today. If that happens to be the case, you can bet that Chun-Li and Xiaoyu will be the first characters I discover new things about. I’ll keep you guys updated.
Both Phoenix and Rain Dance are unique attacks. You should also included the EX moves which are; Storming Flower, Fortune, Fortune Cookie, Shooting Star, Wave Crest, Double Map Sweep, Flower Power, Mistrust, Dark & Stormy, California Roll, Back Layout, and Hakkesho. Also Hakkesho is the chargable move.
Now, if only we can the first post updated with this info.

I know they’re unique attacks, but I had organized it the way they are for reading clarity. I can also put a mark next to them if they can’t be canceled into so that’s cleared up. And how exactly are Storming Flower and Fortune EX moves? I know Fortune Cookie is an EX-able move, but I don’t know for certain on that.
I do like the thread title though. For some reason, I was thinking of “The phoenix rises from the ashes to deliver a rain of fire.” or some poetic fluff as I read your suggestion.

If you do get it early, can you check to see whether or not her stances can be canceled into? Also, can you check to which ones are EX moves or not. In the mean time, I’ll update with what I know.
I think they can remember whe chris g what using her. After hwoarangs ground bound he would tag cancel into xiaoyu. Than he would do a :hp: than immediateky go into pheonix stance and do he dp type move
I’m honestly not sure how they work as EX moves myself but I believe they are listed as EX moves shown from when Haunts did Xiaoyu’s Trials run on Cross Assault. Again I could be wrong, I don’t have the game myself to confirm it 100%.
Fortune Cookie definitely has an EX version. It’s the HP version and (I think) automatically continues into the full continuation whether it hits or is blocked. When it hits, the last hit causes a wall-bounce.
Conversely because they are the same input and just a different button, I highly doubt that Storming Flower and Fortune have EX versions.
I vaguely remember that. That being said, I would be very surprised if you COULDN’T cancel into it considering you could in Tekken IIRC.
I wonder if the moves for SFxT will be similar from the Tekken games.

@9:31, her overhead can cross up on wakeup. So they also have to deal with the left/right mixup.
I have not seen that movie but people are saying yes. Heihachi has the same voice actor.
If it is, I’ll be fine. It wasn’t what I expect for her English voice, but it grew on me.
It seems unlikely that it would cross up if you were blocking high, so that’s probably a moot point.
I mean on wakeup, before they’re standing. Even if they wake up blocking high, it’ll bounce if they’re blocking in the wrong direction. That time point in the video may have been a bad example, but later on in that archive somewhere he does it (by accident, I’m pretty sure).
It does look like it can crossup. Maybe you can alter the trajectory like Fuerte’s run followups.
Yes you can cancel into stance changes.
I’m not sure how I got EX Fortune Cookie to wallbounce in the playtest, but I didn’t get it to do that while playing yesterday. I think it still does, just not sure how to get it to work.
Xiaoyu has some really cool looking juggles, check out this vid of Clockw0rk doing some combos. Some of that shit looks so stylish.
To get out of Rain Dance or AOP stance, tap :d::d: and it will revert to the regular stance. This can’t be done quickly - there is a brief period after stance changing where you cannot revert into regular stance.
As for moves that are EX-able, I haven’t tried but I am pretty sure every special has an EX version except Storming Flower and Fortune.
Maybe Turn of Fortune ( :p: before Dark and Stormy hits) might not have one but not positive on that one.
