Ling Xiaoyu Thread

QCF+K is a dive kick, it’s slow but is usually fast enough to punish projectiles on reaction. I think it can be spaced to make it safe.

It really acts as more sort of like a demon flip into dive kick, except you can’t pick an option like Akuma’s, you are forced to dive kick. I don’t believe she has a dive kick from a regular jump.

Yes her limbs are fairly short but her legs are okay, it’s looking like her typical LMHH BnBs will probably involve mostly kicks.

For you guys who have tried her, what moves/things she can do in AoP and RD stances?

I didn’t, unfortunately. I wish I’d gotten more time to but it’s hard enough trying to win to stay on the station lol, much less when you’re using a character you don’t understand and are facing hordes of players running Ryu/Sagat.

I just had a terrible image of what it would be like fighting a Dhalsim+Guile match.

Just noticed after rewatching some of the WGC stream that the first hit of fortune cookie leaves her in raindance if you don’t follow up. She also still has her Hop n’ Throw grab from RDS, which looks like it may only connect standing opponents. Which is a fun mixup, because everyone will be expecting that overhead kick that bounds during blockstrings (she can combo after that as well, though all they showed on the stream was a crouch jab), and putting themselves in position for a command grab.

Im starting to worry about her range. Her mixups and damage seem pretty ok, and she overall seems to have lots of tool to deal with every situation, but Im not so sure how she will deal with long ranged and mobile characters (aka Claw and Rolento) or vs Grapplers since she needs to be up close #justsayin

Thanks AnkiRendan for the movelist. This will make it easier to learn Xiaoyu since she has a ton of moves. You should add the EX Moves and Chargeable Move to the list.

A little dissapointed that Phoenix and Rain Dance stances are unique attacks instead of specials so that means we won’t be able to special cancel into them. Well, we’ll see when it comes out. Luckily, it seems some specials end in a stance change.

Xiaoyu looks really fun to play, Im still debating on Lily or Asuka as a partner but with the release next week hopefully I can make a final decision soon :slight_smile:

Kind of interesting that she has absolutely no chain combos save for the RD chain. I wonder if there are any other Tekken characters without chains/target combos. While I appreciate the specials list, Anki, I hope you don’t mind that I rearranged them.
