I’m going to use Asuka and Xiaoyu! =)
I think that jump heavy kick could possibly be used for an instant overhead. And I can imagine Xiayou can set up a lot of fuzzy guards.
looks like I’m going to have a ton to learn Christ
Yupp minimum of for target combo’s for tekken characters
They made her too childish and naive looking :S No me gusta :@
Love her back stance so I’m gonna use her anyway xD
Have you seen Xiao in the Tekken games. That’s how she is.
But not quite as much as she is in SFxT.
Here’s a compilation vid, which also seems to have footage from Tension’s post.

Most of it is just Xiaoyu attacking rather than the entire matches. Doesn’t have any footage of AOP.
There’s some great xiaoyu footage by Chris g during the fingercramp x capcom stream. Its archived on their twitch channel, which ill link to when I get home.
Chris G playing Xiaoyu/Hworang during the FingerCramp X Capcom stream. Seems like the best Xiaoyu player right now even though he plays her second on the team.
1:44:00 vs. NYC Fab
2.44:00 vs. Yipes
3:03:00 vs LI Joe
Those are some pretty good matches. I’m not sure whether or not I’ll be using Hwoarang, but I like the Gem set-up Chris G was using. Since Xiaoyu goes into AOP instantly like in Tekken, it can be hard to spot some moves, but I’m 95% sure she has a low from AOP, which is great news. I’m still not sure which of her moves are overheads. Xiaoyu was mostly used to finish combos, but her pokes seemed decent. Still don’t know whether or not Xiaoyu can switch from AOP to RD and back, but I’m going to assume she can.
Also since I don’t think anyone mentioned this…for SF players who aren’t familiar with Tekken;
AOP = Art of Phoenix = Her Crouching Stance
RD = Rain Dance = Her Back Turned Stance
You folks see that new Tekken trailer with Jin and Ogre gameplay? Her twirling kicks move (forgot the name) low crushed Bison’s crouch roundhouse. Which is something but If you were going to anticipate a low you might as well just use the universal launch. HP+HK
Not only that, but it can be linked into cr.LK.
I’m a Sakura player who knows nothing about Xiaoyu from Tekken, that said, I’m intending to main her in this game; the 3x kick combo in the start of her new trailer seems like a tatsu loop, which is good news for me

Well don’t take my word for it exactly but I hear that Xiayou and Asuka’s walk speeds are similar to Sakura. Also judging by vids her normals seem about the same in terms of range and such – you could be quite right, a good fit for Sakura players. Looking forward to messing around with her myself
I played the most recent build of SFxT and Xiaoyu is a lot of fun.
:qcf:+:hp: is her Fortune Cookie, you can hit confirm by adding :hp: twice to continue the combo. It wallbounces on EX.
:qcf:+:lp: or :mp: have different properties, I didn’t have enough time to try them all since for some reason everyone was playing to win rather than playing to learn when we had the build… where’s the fun in that?
:f:+:mk: LOOKS like a command overhead but I’m not 100% sure if it has to be blocked high. It looks kind of like her uf+4 (Firecracker or Cyanide, can’t remember what it’s called) move from Tekken.
:qcf:+:hk: is Shooting Star, which is sort of similar to (but not exactly the same as) her uf+3+4 in Tekken despite it having the same name. I think regardless whether you add inputs or not she will always do the dive kick. Not sure if this hits high, I feel like my opponents have blocked it crouching.
:d:+:3p: is Art of Phoenix stance
+:3k: is Rain Dance stance
While in Rain Dance, Xiaoyu can reflect projectiles using :lk: and :mk: in a way very similar to Rose’s Soul Reflect; LK reflects it straight, MK reflects it diagonally upwards if you anticipate a jump-in. Not sure what HK does as I didn’t have an opportunity to try it.
Unfortunately, like everyone else I didn’t get a chance to mess with her AOP stance so I don’t know much about it.
Xiaoyu cannot block during Rain Dance (understandable since her back is facing the enemy).
Looks like there’s some power behind her sparkles if they’re letting her reflect projectiles from RD. Should be funny against Guile and Dhalsim players.
Notes taken, haha.
We may both be representing Team China
shame they were playing to win, reminds me of SDCC when I was trying to have the guy I’m playing try something out. In return I said I would let him try something or at least even the health back up. it was a HELL NO! some people —
Some people just have massive e-peens and want to win no matter what (like seriously? It’s some casuals for a game on Day negative 15). In the end I just picked Sagat/King and went streaking cuz no one would give me a chance to try one of the “advance” characters. The one thing I’m concerned with Xiao is that her limbs are so damn short. Does she have a dive kick to get in?
She has like a demon flip > divekick ala akuma
