These dash cancels seem pointless and are extremely annoying to time…
Not exactly what I had in mind at all, but oh well.
What happens to damage if you replace the last cr. RH to phoenix talon?
It won’t connect, you can only do 3 cr. HK’s into talon, anything more doesn’t land. I prefer to just do all 6 cr. HK’s because you get a hard knockdown and it does more damage. If you tag during the phoenix talon you can get a lot of damage though.
Does it matter which Hakkesho you use? I’ve been doing the loop with the LP version.
Yes. MK or HK only. You can drop one of them and the combo still works. I’m pretty sure there is no way to follow up on LP version.
Oh, I meant the CADC combos not the stance cancels. Ive been CADCing the cr.HK with LP Hakkesho. Just wanted to know if theres a difference if you use the other ones.
Oh, nah, doesn’t matter. LP works fine.
Fuck, this is frustrating.
Can someone post a video of the dash cancel being used (mid-combo, obviously)?
Thanks, I appreciate it.
Sorry for all my whining, I just hate when other people can get combos/links/etc down and I can’t.
Don’t worry you’ll get there. Then you can impress your friends.
Great thread guys! I feel my Xiaoyu improving exponentially. Btw, how often are you guys able to dash cancel into the mutiple cr. HK? Is this one of those things where I can do it consistently or is the timing that strict? I’m having what hell of a time getting those off in training mode.
I can do it [S]100%[/S], [S]95%[/S], okay 85% of the time or so in training and I can get maybe 3-4 reps average online.
She can over head into almost any combo with her partner:
:d::3p::db::hk:(instant overhead from AOP) :mk:+:mp: 2nd character enters and has enough time to setup almost anything. (With julia i get to 400 with no additional meter). Cool for pressure with the 2nd character too
Are you sure about this? I am 99% sure that HK Flower Power can be blocked low.
Also regarding the cr.HK loop, I can do it without any problems standing still but I can’t do it with the dash in between. Yet. Execution, here I come.
Can anyone explain what the inputs look like for cr.HK dash SCC cr.HK?
It’s easy to do it in place, I picked it up after fiddling with it for about an hour. What I do now is:
:db::hk: :3p:, :db::db:, :db::hk: :3p:, etc. I know the dash has to come after the stance cancel, how weird is the timing for it?
Hahaha, that’s exactly what it’s all about for me.
If I had no one to go, “WOOOOOOOOOOOOOW HOW DOES HE DO THAT?” I wouldn’t put much work into it.
CMDC cr.hk loop is different from SCC cr.hk loop.
CMDC (charge move dash cancel) is :f::mk::d::db::mp::d::hk::db:
:hp:(hold):f:**:f:(release :hp:) :d::hk::db:
:hp:(hold):f:**:f:(release :hp:) :d:**:hp::3p: etc. I doubt you can scc-dash. The reason you release the HP after the double tap is because you are buffering the double tap (at least the first tap) during the 5 frames that the charge move needs to be held before it can be canceled into a dash so that you can get the dash out as early as possible.
A part of me was hoping that SCC looping wasn’t as easy for everyone else as it was for me it looks so *lame, *it’d be one thing if it were only a select few that had the execution to pull it off but every xiaoyu and their mother is gonna be doing it now since the damage makes her ridiculously dangerous.
The timing for it is awkward, but once you figure it out, it’s easier to do than Fuerte’s Run-Stop-Fierce loop by miles.
I assumed that the combo in that video where Xiaoyu carries to the corner was still using SCC but it makes sense that it was a CADC. Something else to fiddle with when I get home.
Also if you want to complain about juggles looking lame, what about Raven’s dash juggle? That shit looks so stupid. It makes me mad any time I get hit by it lol.
Another thought… what would be the best way (or any way) to start a groundbounce combo as a punish? I ask because outside of landing f+MK, I can’t see many ways to combo into the cr.HK loop. It can juggle a few times off Wave Crest in the corner, but ordinarily, Wave Crest has too much pushback midscreen to allow for you to juggle with cr.HK after.
Not sure if I’m doing this command dash~cr.HK combo right.
Usually I can get 2, sometimes 3… but it all feels like a 1 frame link. Like if input it too fast, cr.HK won’t come out (due to Xiaoyu still being in dash) and if I intentionally slow my inputs down, cr.HK comes out too late… If it really is a 1 frame link, its time for me to move on to learning new combos. lol. Hoping I’m doing it wrong though…
It has a specific rhythm to it, there is enough leeway that you can gradually make whoever you’re wailing on go higher and higher (because you’re hitting them earlier than where they got hit before). It isn’t a one frame link.
Here are my inputs exactly how I do them:
:f::mk:,:d::db::mp:,:d::db::hk:
:mp:(held down):f::f::d:(release :mp:… this is so that the dash comes out on the first frame), (not letting go of down from before), :db::hk:
:mp:…etc
The down back comes out with the :hk: instead of down because I am doing the :d::db: motion at almost the same time that I’m pressing :hk: then :mp:.
So the important parts are HOLDING the buttons where I indicate, getting the dash in as a buffer and doing the motions at roughly the same time.
To practice, plug in a second controller and put cross assault meter to infinite. Place the other character opposite to the dummy and set the dummy to block all. Then just CMDC dash combo until you can land it consistently. Then try it in a combo.
