I think jab jab is a (true?) blockstring, not sure. You can do jab jab s.mp/s.mk for a good frame trap or just jab jab (wait a bit) c.mk xx phoenix stance elbow.

c.hk xx qcb+p (hold punch), dash (release punch), c.hk

Holding down after AOP in the breakdance loop (and then just taping another down for AOP cancel) actually makes it a lot more easier.

Not st.MP CADC cr.HK, I mean st.MP stance cancel cr.HK, basically (and I apologize if I screw up this notation, I’m posting from my phone):

AOP > P > st.MP xx AOP > d, d [Stance Cancel] > cr.HK

I know it can be chained into Sweep but this way you could potentially start the breakdance loop off a hit confirm into Wave Crest anywhere on screen. I THINK this is possible, but you may have to hit st.MP at the highest point possible and do a really fast stance cancel to do cr.HK as early as possible.

Thing is, if this works (big if), it changes the dynamic of Xiaoyu’s pressure game entirely. Whereas before you have to tag combo into breakdance or Cyanide into breakdance, now you’d be able to do it off an easy hit confirm if this can be done.

Maybe it can’t be done since if it could, it probably would’ve been discovered already.

Hm, I was finally able to do the breakdance loop after weeks on me not knowing what the hell it was, but I seem to have added a variation to it. Once I get a video of it up, I would like some confirmation.

EDIT: Here it is. Am I able to do another c. HK at the end of the combo, because I tried multiple times to get a fourth hit, but it doesn’t seem to link at all. Confirmation, please?

I’m not sure if it has been discovered yet, but I did find a way to get the breakdance loop from mid-screen. Sadly, the only way I know of right now involves one bar, which has probably been discovered already. However, I just did some testing, and if you do have one bar, you can get the breakdance loop off of a wave crest mid-screen by doing st.:mk: xx cr.:hk: xx :qcb::p::p:, :f::f:, breakdance loop.

Her st.:mk: has to be done fairly early, so that when it cancels, the cr.:hk: doesn’t whiff, but once you get it down it is pretty simple and it does decent damage, IDK if it is worth one bar though do to scaling. I’ll post the combos I used and the damage they do:

(1 meter) st.:hp: xx :hcf::hp:, :p:, :p:, :d: (into AOP), :p:, st.:mk: xx cr.:hk: xx :qcb::p::p:, :f::f:, breakdance loop = 397
(0 meter) st.:hp: xx :hcf::hp:, :p:, :p:, :d: (into AOP), :p:, st.:mp:, AOP, :qcf::hk: = 362

You only gain around 30 damage for a whole bar, but if you need it it does work. I also tried doing the CADC after a raw Wave Crest in case you can punish someone with it or they try to hit you during the block string, the combo is:

(1 meter) wave crest, st.:mk: xx cr.:hk: xx :qcb::p::p:, :f::f:, breakdance loop = 393
(0 meter) wave crest, st.:mp:, AOP, :qcf::hk: = 254

So in this case, if you can get a raw wave crest to punish them, the meter is well worth it. If you are in the middle of a combo though, it probably isn’t. I hope this helps, but if this has been discovered already, sorry lol, guess I didn’t see it xP

You can also do st.MP, HPxxQcf+PP,P,P, wallbounce F+MK, loops for like 380 something

Do you need to CADC in order to get that one, or does it only cost 1 bar? If you need to do the EX CADC, then it would cost 2 bars, which I wouldn’t think is worth it. I’m not on the game to know right now, but I can check later.

You can just do st.MP, HPxxQcf+PP,P,P (wall bounce), walk forward slightly, Loops.

Super easy, 1 bar.

No, Wave Crest counts heavily against the juggle counter which is why you wouldn’t be able to connect another sweep after.

Considering Wave Crest does lower damage than sweep though, I would say it is definitely worth it to learn the full breakdance combo.

Rather just do ST HP xx EX Fortune Cookie MP Hakkesho into Break dance loop does 459 damage.

It’s different, yours starts with st.HP which you wouldn’t really use in a poke or hitconfirm situation, whereas with st.MP xx st.HP xx EX Fortune Cookie, you can stay just around the range where st.MP will hit and buffer it to fish for a counter-poke. If it hits, you get big damage punishing your opponent for whiffing moves, if it whiffs nothing happens.

Starting with st.HP into a combo does more damage, yes, but that’s typically only used in a punish situation or combo-extending situation.

Ok just add ST MP to the combo does 418, still more damage than the other combo :stuck_out_tongue:

You wouldn’t counter-poke with st.LP though.
