That sounds great Ryuga, I’m gonna practice that!
How do you avoid it when X-23 does that invisible super when one of your characters is coming in?
invincible super (eg: hard drive, Gimlet, Phoenix Rage) or throw her/hit her (very hard if the x-23 times it right). However if there’s a lockdown assist thats on screen as well (eg: Jam session, Cold star) then consider yourself fucked.
Ryuga, you are tiger knee’ing those crescent scythes aren’t you? I couldn’t get your combo to work any other way. What a pain!
imo crescent scythe loops are too finnicky and character dependent to be reliable BnB material
im not sure if this will help much, but substituteing all her st.M with st.L in any combo within the first 10 hits will increase the damage of the combo by around 30-50k depending on length…also fineshing with CS L instead of CS H will increase damage between 30K-5K depending on length of combo( longer the combo the less the differnce between CS L and CS H)
Yeah, there were a lot of things like this in Vanilla. In Vanilla, I skipped a lot of M hits to increase the damage on my combos, but in Ultimate I put them back in. The damage is a little bit worse, but you really have to get every possible hit in Ultimate since gaining meter is so much more difficult.
iv been fooling around with x-23(not like that…but i secretly wish too =Þ) and iv come across a neat little trick which opens people up fairly nicely, during one of x-23 mirage feint loops, instead of MF H after her s.H , do a 236 H, this will position x-23 behind, in a beautiful spot to reset, some people may suggest MF M, but this will take you a bit to far from the opponent usually ending up with you having to dash back in to position, but with 236 H you have the right distance away to continue pressure, shit you have enough time aswell to dash again to the other side or grab if you have a good otg assist…
That seems really laggy and unsafe, but I have a tournament today and Ill try it out and see what happens.
Yup TKing every Scythe since it’s the only way to make the link reliable, it’s seriously pissing me off too. I’d have no issues, but the worst thing is doing it on the 2P side since I have massive issues with TKing DP motions on that side.
what was the meter building like on this i’m assuming at least positive after the trigger
Think it was 1.75/1.85 meter gain, so not quite 2 bars, but close. You’re definitely positive after the Trigger though.
are you tiger kneeing with H mirage hop for those? that combo does do nice damage but maaaaaaan its some crazy stick gymnastics
I only tiger knee the Crescent Scythes and to be honest, those combos feel like a complete ballache to pull out lol. Normally, I’d say it’s not too bad, but anything can go wrong. You can mistime your TK and you don’t get the cancel into Talon. Or the game randomly gives you Talon instead of Crescent Scythe.
The MFC into Crescent Scythe Loop I posted a few pages above is the worst one. I can’t even execute it anymore 'cause everytime I try to transition from qcb+H into Scythe from the MFC string, the game gives me down+H instead of qcb+H everytime.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH man this combo. the damage is so tasty. you can ToD Vergil with just X-23 & Wesker with that combo, but it is soooo fuckin hard. Facing the right I can’t do it at all. why did you post this ahaha
865-870k damage with just X-23 and Wesker starting from c.M s.H
maybe the version I am doing is too hard? but it works everywhere it seems.
c.M s.H xx qcb+H, dp+L xx qcf+L (land) s.M s.H xx qcb+H, dp+L xx qcf+L s.M s.H s.S sj.M sj.M sj.H sj.d+H xx dp+H xx qcf+L (land) Wesker assist, qcf+L (fully charged) s.S sj.H xx dp+H xx qcf+L (land), qcf+M (fully charged) xx Rage Trigger
^
Nope, your version’s the same version I use, the combo’s just naturally a pain in the arse. Not much lee-way for the TKing to take place, you have to start buffering the TK motion as soon as you take to the air. You’d think it’d be way easier, but it’s harder than it looks for some reason. I’d also blame to Easiertorun, he’s the one who discovered the Crescent Scythe loop LOL. But seriously, well done to him for coming up with the loop, it does big damage.
Since I can finally TK Crescent Scythe during qcb+H on the 2P side now, I can pull off the combo on both sides, but it’s still awkward for me. But you’ll be slamming people for big damage with just 1 bar though. With the right DHC ender, you can slap off 1.mil instantly, if you pull it off.
For less damage, but more meter gain, there’s always this starter. It’s my fave MFC combo right now: M(1hit)H, H, Hxxqcb+H, j.MMH, j.MMHS>L Talon Attack>into ender of your choice and can extend with an OTG.
x-23’s damage is the same. she was able to do 850k in vanilla with assists also. she technically had higher dmg output in vanilla because she built more meter (everyone did) and because of dhc trick.
What assists were you using to dish out 850K in Vanilla? Just curious.
In Vanilla, aside from the DHC glitch, I can’t really see her reaching the kinds of damage she does now, unless it was off a jump-in/Talon Attack and using two assists.
The combos listed in this topic were all from ground/MFC strings, with a jump-in/Talon Attack, X-23’s dishing out in the 900s with 1 bar(which was unheard of with Vanilla) and it’s probably possible for X-23 to hit 1.mil with two assists, 1 bar. And mashable Rage Trigger for more damage and cancellable Crescent Scythe’s helped boost her damage too.
But to be fair, that’s only if you have OTG/groundbounce/specific extenders like Chun/Skrull and so on though. In Vanilla, she had more choice with the assists she could use for extending and could have assist extenders which doubled up as lockdown assists for Silent Kill, like Jam Session. Higher meter building was nice too.
BTW, Hulk’s Gamma Wave can OTG and you can call it and get a Neck Slicer relaunch. The only problem is, it’s very hard to time and the opponent needs to be close to the ground and in the corner(all her combos wall carry anyway.) If it was easier to use, you could get easy-mode 1.mil combos with Gamma Crush DHC and have a projectile assist to help out X-23 and Hulk at the same time!
I’ll post the combo very soon, Merry Xmas.
lol I made the vid with Hulk already dude. its not that bad to get. use your OTG assist first into neck slice then launch when they are still way above your head. sj.H xx dp+L then wait a tick before you spike them back down and it is very easy to get consistently. if you do it right you hit the ground well before they do. once you trust your timing on the Hulk OTG adding on the neck slicer is no big deal
I watched it too, so I don’t really have an excuse as to why I forgot about your vid LOL.
My combo is M(1)H>H>H>M(1hit)H, H, Hxxqcb+H, j.MMH, j.MMHS>L Talon Attack, MHS, j.MMH, down+H, Hard Crescent Scythe>Talon Attack, OTG Gamma Wave, Neck Slice, S, j.H>Hard Crescent Scythe>L Talon Attack, call Grey Hound/projectile assist, Ankle Slice and DHC into Gamma Crush for 1.mil.
The problem for me personally is, if I cut down on the air ender for more consistency, I lose out on damage. But the max damage air ender’s too hard to land consistently for me. If I add an OTG assist, Hulk doesn’t have an assist for cover. Hulk suffers the most from not having a projectile assist, X-23 at least has more mobility and Gamma Wave to back her up.
In short, I’m greedy lol.
