Thanks bro, just trying to do my part for all the Laura feinds out there. I could have probably squeezed more damage in, but to be honest I was sick all weekend, stuck in bed and I just wanted to hammer out some stuff that’s at least visually thought provoking… it got you adding things right? That’s what counts.
As for the loop, I’ve been testing with it and after the 3rd loop, if you mash the hell out of S, unless they’re obviously visually high for the combo, you’ll get a connection about 85-90% of the time. I never tried mashing it out, just hitting the button. Either that, or I’ve gotten better at it with practice. I really think it’s not as tight as I originally thought (giggity).The continuity of the combo is based off of the first loop, and getting them pretty low to the ground. After that… unless you really screw up simple muscle memory, you usually get it. Or Ammy’s strange shape had something to do with it, idk.
To be honest, if you start any chain that isn’t ridiculously long, and can manage to get 2 loops in, you generally can hit about 700k each time with minimal effort, and that’s the key. Even without much practice, two loops is hard to mess up unless you don’t know how to get your DP motions down. That silly snapback combo I did, has an ABC xx Talon A into 2 reps of the loop, up into a full combo and it’s still 700k after all that possible damage scaling. I think that was the moment where I told myself that her buffs were not minimal, despite being one of the shortest lists out there.
I will continue my journey to prove that X-23 is secret top tier. Even if it takes 10 years. She will be the best.
I noticed you have to cancel the CS relatively early, otherwise they tech. It’s an odd motion doing :d::db::h::f::d::df::l: really fast… I can barely do it from the right side. Yay lopsided execution!
Thought you guys might like to hear what I’m doing - my X-23 BnB does about 750k-790k depending on how many hits I’m comfortable doing. Here’s the maxed 793k damage X-23 combo (one assist) I figured out last night:
:qcf::l:(full charge), :qcf::uf::l:, st.:h: xx :qcb::h:, air:m:, air:h:, air:d::h:, air:qcf::l:, st. (1 hit), st.:h:, st.:s:, sj., sj., sj.:h:, sj.:d::h:, sj.:dp::h: xx sj.:qcf::l:, land, :a1: (Ghost Rider-β), :qcf::l:(full charge), st.:h:, st.:s:, sj.:h:, sj.:dp::h: xx sj.:qcf::l:, land, :qcf:(full charge) xx :qcf::atk::atk:, mash :atk:
What do you think? It’d work with just about any OTG assist. It’s very difficult to do if the first series doesn’t corner the opponent though - Ghost Rider’s assist doesn’t reach far in front of X-23. You can get away with a quick dash before the assist call but the timing is really really tight.
^
Yeah, the timing’s quite awkward since you have to do Crescent Scythe immediately and getting it to hit quick enough to launch the opponent at the correct height for the follow ups.
The only way I can do it consistently is if I TK each Crescent Scythe. For some weird reason, even though you’re already in the air, you’ll get an SJ’d Crescent Scythe, which makes you able to cancel into Talon Attack faster.
i would think that if you did forward, down, down-forward, up-forward, you couldnt get that out without getting forward at the end which would make it a tk fireball motion.
I like that addition, looks like the loop might be a bit tighter though… I’ll probably test it a bit inbetween some KOF and Skyward Sword this weekend. :3
L, M(1 hit)H>Light Crescent Scythe> Light Talon Attack, M(1 hit), H>Light Crescent Scythe>L Talon Attack, M(1 hit). H, S>super jump, j.MMH, down+H>Hard Crescent Scythe>Light Talon Attack, land, call OTG assist, Light Neck Slicer(assist and Neck Slicer hit), S>super jump, j.H>Hard Crescent Scythe>Light Talon Attack, land, call assist>Rage Trigger.
I did this combo with GhostRider’s Heartless Spire as the OTG and Ironman’s Unibeam as the ending assist. Does 850,000K. And that’s off a ground string starting with a light attack…
I know people hate looking at long notations lol, sorry, can’t get a recording.
So yeah, time to start practising these annoying Crescent Scythe loops. Thanks Easiertorun lol.
Yup, and it’s a wall carry too LOL. Even if you don’t use a 2nd assist, you’ll still end up doing 800,000K.
I wouldn’t use GhostRider and Ironman personally, because you’d need Ironman 2nd for an appropriate DHC and Ghost last. Same goes for a lotta other chars.
