I imagined it to be so It seems every time I jump up there to meet someone I was getting knocked out lol.

I’ve been using J.HK as an air-to-air. Works pretty well if you hit it early. I find that the spacing on it is also way less tricky than J.HP.

I didn’t have much success with it the first time round, but I’ll give it another go if you’re sure j. HK is a thing.

Hey so I was in training mode with alisa, and I noticed that after some of alisa’s switch off moves the enemy flys really high up, I actually accidentally did a cr.hp into mp fisherman hook without the atomic slam, and just cause I hit them with a st.hp into flying knee, this actually increased my damage by about 50 in the juggle, and im sure that it would general raise bryans combo damage if u could consistently land this type of juggle in a combo, so try it out, if your partner can launch them high enough try doing something like st.hp hp fisherman, into another hp, flying knee or w/e u want.

I think it will be really difficult if not impossible to land a cr. HP after Atomic Slam, since that leaves the opponent at the same height regardless of how high he was when you caught him. Using Cr. HP instead of the jab is definitely something to keep in mind though, i need to test where and when it’s possible. I think you might be able to get it immediately after a raw Fish hook, when used as an anti air. Maybe.

No i did… well anything into fisherman hook, than linked a st.hp, thing is out of the corner I have to use a special I don’t wanna use, so i think this is a corner only situation when used practically.

speaking of which, what are you using as your corner combo after tag in right now?

I have been sticking to st.hp fisherman hook into slam, then cr.lp flying knee. Although I think im going to keep trying to figure out new stuff, the fisherman hook juggle into st.hp in the corner might be the best you can get.

You can switch out the Mach Breaker with Flying Knee for more damage, but you’ll sacrifice corner positioning.

With meter his damage can vary greatly depending on the starter and EX move used. But, I think the most damage he can get is confirming into :hcf::hp: and tag canceling.

Oh my GOD guys, Bryan’s super is an incredible anti-air.

It’s genuinely even better than Vega’s. It will get beat out by some aerial specials, but I basically haven’t seen it be beat out by anything else. It hits really late, so much so that you’re sure the opponent will be able to land and get crouching in time, but they can’t!

The more efficient anti-air for meter is still EX Fisherman’s Hook into Fisherman’s Hook + Slam, cr. LP xx Flying Knee (308 damage for 1 meter, compared to 330 for 2 bars, although all of that is nonrecoverable), but the Super will hit more jump-ins more reliably, and it’s quicker to input too.

I tried this out at launch, i didn’t realize that if they landed in certain situations that it was still able to hit (I guess the unblockable hits during their landing lag or something?) But I do recall being beaten out by jump attacks sometimes, so for 2 bars, no I wouldn’t risk this, honestly bryans got much better, much more consistant AA options, but hey if u have meter to blow maybe it isn’t a bad idea. I will try it out again tonight.

Absolutely, I think EX Fisherman’s Hook is still the best go-to AA option, but I was frankly shocked by how little I got beaten out when using the Super. Let me know what you think!

My current fav combo is: Double Back Knuckle into One Two Body Blow Ex Snake Pit, then follow up the wall bounce with Gatling Combination

I found that LP Fisherman’s Hook can beat Zangief’s J. Fierce even if he’s really far away…

PS - What do you feel is Bryan’s strongest position on screen? Mid-range? Half screen? I like his F+MK and St. HP from far away to close the distance, but I find at close range, Bryan seems so-so.

Edit: Just found a potential new close-range punish BNB: Cl HP xx HP Fisherman’s Hook (first hit only), cr. LP, MP Fisherman’s Hook and Slam, cr. LP xx Flying Knee.
389 damage meterless, can be used midscreen. No 1-frame links, etc.

Hello everyone. hope someone can help me out, ive been using bryan since he was released and ive come to make him my main. I can use him to a degree but does any one has any tips for when the opponent is for ever trying to cross him up or any good anti airs.

He has no good answer for meaty crossups, but his Cr. HP can be pretty effective if used pre-emptively. Also, LP Fisherman’s Slam is good for stopping deep jump-ins and crossup attempts. EX Fisherman’s Slam beats farther jump-ins but whiffs on close jump-ins. If you use the MP or HP one, it might trade, which actually can net you even more damage than a non-trade if you follow up with Mid Kick to Rush, Mach Breaker (up to 383 I think!). EX Flying Knee and Face Crusher can work for far jump-ins as well, but I’d save those for projectile punishers.
Knowing Bryan’s anti-airs is key, since the distance where players typically try to jump is actually Bryan’s best distance. That is, about a character-width away.

Edit: Forgot to mention that his Cross Art is amazing as an anti-air. It kinda looks like Fisherman’s Slam, so it functions very similarly.

Ill be honest i wasnt expecting a reply so soon, but thank you ever so much for the tips, i’ll be sure to try them out next time im online. ive found that if i time it right i can just dash under jump ins, even though it doesnt work all the time, it seems to be my best choice of action with my opponent is forever trying to cross me up

So I haven’t played SFxT in a while but today there was an update and I’m wondering if they nerfed Bryan inthe time that I stopped playing. I used to be able to do EX Fisherman’s hook~ Atomic bomb into another Fisherman’s hook~Atomic bomb, but now I can’t get the second one to connect. Hopefully I just forgot the timing of it, but I remember it being easy to do so I’m just wondering if anyone can do it after the update or if this was nerfed and I just didn’t hear about it.

Use the MP version, since it’s a bit faster. I usually do and it’s not hard at all.

Why nerf that aspect of Bryan anyway?

No his right. They have nerfed Bryan. After a launcher i would normal connect with a cr.hp into heavy fisherman hook. And now I have to go straight into a medium fisherman hook instead. A ton of the combos I was able to do with Bryan I now can no longer do or can’t completely the fully. I know it’s not me. I’ve been performing these combos for some time now and I’ve got the timing down to a tee. But they have certianly changed Bryan though which has upset me because he was my main.
