Legendary character nerfs?

Breakers to Breakers revenge was mainly Infinites being removed. The only character that would be significantly change would be Maherl since he had easy ass infinites in the original.

I would say no. Since the basic engine of all SC games is the same. Physics, hit collision. ST and SF4 are completely different animals.

Having only played CvS1 as a lad, can you elaborate on her?

She went from relevant only because of an assist to not relevant. Not that large of a change, as a point character she was still mediocre.

Zasalamel in SC3 to SC4. What the fuck man, what the fuck…

They have different tools for different jobs which can make seem like one is stronger than the other. Unless you start splitting hairs even then I doubt it would change much look at Lilith, Demitri, and Morrigan’s placement it’s been back forth for awhile so I just consider them the same tier.

Alsion has no way to combo or do damage reliable, his speed is horrible everything he does leaves him open. In order to do damage you have to go in full yolo mode seriously. A+C Into Super or get this 214+K into super are your only ways to damage. Without meter your you’re stuck annoying your opponent with limp slaps.

Dunno, I picked up some old CVS1 footage off an old Marvel 2 combovid site that had Ricky Ortiz playing Nakoruru, and supposedly he’s one of the people back in the day that made her godly.

Watching the footage it doesn’t seem any much more different from CVS2 Nakoruru other than cr.LK link into Far MP (b.HP in CVS1) seems easier (so the hitconfirm would be cr.LK x2 into b.HP into ground blade knockdown, Reramusube if I recall) safer overhead dive attack from bird, safer Reramusube on block, and had easy set ups into left/right body hop mix ups. That and I guess she had damage and decent health.

What also made her good was the fact she wasn’t a 3 ratio or 4 ratio character. From what I heard from Tone in Norcal (and if I could recall it correctly), before Nakoruru got found out, the top tier or the overused characters were 3 or 4 ratio characters so that forced the game into 1-2 characters per player. Nakoruru as I recall is a 2 ratio character but did really well against 3-4 ratio characters, and it opened up more character usage per team so people can pick Nakoruru and 2 other characters or another 2 ratio. From another source which I forgot, the other character that could fight Nakoruru decently or near par is Guile, so I doubt Nakoruru is ST Akuma status at all. That would simply just be a hyperbole.

Otherwise, that’s all I know of Nakoruru in CVS1. I’m not so sure on her hitboxes and stuff so I don’t know if she has weird disjointed stuff like A2 Rose cr.MP or ST Akuma st.HK. She was simply a strong character. After playing KOF for a while, her mix-ups aren’t as fast as KOF status so her offense of high/low left/right wasn’t that daunting from what I watched.

For CVS2, I think she’d still be a strong character if it weren’t for the fact she has no health and generally doesn’t do as much damage as other characters in the game. It’d also help if Far MP linked more easily from cr.LK to open up her damage and oki game after LP or MP Reramusube. She can already do stuff like deep hop j.HK > cr.LK > whatever normal (st.LP or cr.MP or Far MP) xx knockdown and actually hit confirm a hop-in into damage (though the timing is kinda hard.)

Ideally, I want to play Team Swords in CVS2 (K-Nako/Haohmaru/Hibiki), but I’m selling out to play K-Kyo/Geese/Sagat. I also want to play N-Kyo/Vice/Iori and A-Joe/Vice/Blanka, but I’m so tired of getting RC’s, then just dropping them by the time I actually get to play people in CVS2. I can’t even do RC’s from LP/LK moves or negative edge it right to do stuff like Ken RC Crazy Kick. Oh woe is me.

I guess another legendary nerf was 97 Yamazaki and Blue Mary to 98 on the basis of damage. Then there’s 03 Malin to XI in terms of tools.

Zas lost a few good tools like 1BB, 66B_B/K and parlor tricks like 22AAB but what he lost was nothing compared to what he gained.

I suppose Raven in SFXT post any and all balance patches. While he was never bad in the game, he went from being in a tier of his own to mid tier (worse depending on who you’re talking to).

From what I remember:
Sentinel from MVC3 to UMVC3 was a steep difference. So was She-Hulk.
I also remember Ivy got worse from SC2 to SC3 and 4.

MvC2 Sentinel to MvC3 sentinel. Like, woooooooooo. Can’t do shit.

CvS1 to CvS2 nakoruru was more that other characters got better and her roll cancels aren’t particularly great. Not really nerfs to her, she was always a low to mid damage character with solid mixup. Not that she was broken. CvS1 was just a more limited game.

Chun nerfs from super to AE were HILARIOUS. She was not terrible in super but far from godlike, then they nerf her to shit and keep her shit. It’s hilarious.

Ivy actually got better from SC3 to SC4 overall, just because a lot of people got worse from SC3 to SC4. She changed completely as a character but was high tier and likely could have been top if not for hilda.

Honestly, 2I Sean and Ibuki are by far the most prominent I can think of. From godlike to unplayable garbage (more so sean then ibuki).

Yeah Sean went from top tier in 2I to worst character in the game in 3s (somewhat arguable).

What about Nu13 from Blazblue? In CT she was top tier and the most complained about character, so instead of nerfing her they simply removed her from the roster!

Honestly, Lambda wasn’t bad in CS1. If it wasn’t for Bang she actually might have ended up high tier just because she had retard damage. Bang though lol, 5P the game redash 5P spam pretty much beat her as a character.

Sentinel received more nerfs in the MvC3 post patch than the UMvC3 release. In Sentinel’s transition to Ultimate he received a 25k reduction in health, and more HSD on Rocket Punch most notably. For example in all of MvC3 he was able to link multiple Rocket Punch>HSF at the corner. However in the post patch of MvC3 he did receive a near 400k health nerf but not too many know that on top of that his Alpha assist dissipated when he was hit. For example it was like how Dr. Doom’s Beta assist (missiles) is now.

IMO She-Hulk got the rawer end in Ultimate. She received nothing but nerfs and her only buff is Clothesline wall bounces airborne opponents.
